Pro-Bachmann PAC attacks Perry with South Carolina ad
LA Times ^ | 9/1/11 | staff

Reporting from Washington — A so-called Super PAC that supports Michele Bachmann is going after Rick Perry, suggesting that he doesn’t merit the support of the "tea party" movement.

It's the first real attack on Perry since polls have shown him to be the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination.

It hammers Perry on the one area where he could be potentially vulnerable with the tea party movement: his 11-year track record as governor of Texas. The spot paints him as an executive who escalated state spending, citing a Wall Street Journal report last month that said the state offered nearly $10 billion in short-term bonds to prop up its general revenue fund.

The state Legislature this year had to work to close a $27-billion budget deficit.

She lied about the whole Gardasil issue in her shark attack. I’m sorry I’m not considering somebody that’s going to trash another candidate with the democrats own lies. Bachmann’s been beat up really bad all over the internet and the Tea Parties are outraged...she’s toast.

She ‘might’ win in Iowa? I’m sorry but even the Tea Parties are outraged at her false shark attack. She went way over the board of dishonesty.

This is a story from over 2 weeks ago. (September 1st).

You beat me to it. And this had multiple threads at the time. Here's a link to the "patently and provably false", "cheesy", "lame", "schlocky", "amateurish", "piddly", "hokey" Ad.

Yes, and I am appalled at all those here who, out of desperation, have bought into the candidacy of this slick politician. I live in Texas and I have been watching him from day one. For the last three years he has been living in a 10K per month rented mansion at taxpayers expense. Due to Texas law, he lives a life of luxury from “donations” (although legal). Now, all of a sudden he’s found religion (how convenient). Don’t trust this man. He is not what he appears to be. I’m not crazy about any of the other candidates either except Palin, should she run, but I am not about to vote for a person out of desperation. Check his record. I don’t think you will be impressed. So go ahead, flame me, but you’ll not convince me that this guy is who you want him to be.

I agree, no respectable tea party person would support Perry.

Conservatives do. It's Perry's liberal followers who do not.

“The spot paints him as an executive...”

which must be a bad thing according to the junior congresswoman.

No wonder why she's going after the only candidate that actually served

That’s only one. The entire list of TEF recipients are here.
Note the term “ecodev” in the address.

The perry folks grew weary after answering that rediculous insinuation when it was posted multiple times in it’s own threads weeks ago. I appreciate their ability to ignore off-topic attempts to hijack a thread or stir up a fight.

I never understood the advantage to the perry opposition in attacking the Republican Governor’s association, of whom Sarah Palin was an active member, for an official letter written on their behalf.

Especially since Sarah Palin is on record after the “recovery act” passed of supporting a good chunk of the spending in the bill that made it to Alaska. It is clear that there was some economic recovery items that were SUPPORTED by conservatives, and that is what the RGA, and governors like Sarah Palin, were supporting, not the entire bizarre bill that the democrats ended up passing.

The liberals attacked Palin for her support of parts of the stimulus, and we debunked them. Now I see conservatives falling into that same liberal attack mode.

___________________________________________________________

I live in KY but I have been watching Rick Perry for a year or so.

There are worse candidates. Perry is a big spender and that scares me. If Sarah Runs, she will get my vote in the primary. So far there is nobody in the primary that excites me.

If Bachman were to win the nomination she will get my vote in the general, if Perry or even Romney get the nomination I will vote for either of them. They are so head and heals above Obama that I won't even hold my nose, but, if Palin wins the nomination I will be camping out at the poling place to be the first to vote.

Our worst republicans are much better than what we have in Obama. Obama and his administration are Marxist. I hope we can dismantle all they have done to our poor country. I hope the country survives as a free republic until the election, I'm not sure that it will. The one knows he is in trouble and will do what he can to protect his people.

Theses are bad times for this country.

I agree, this wasn't that big of deal in Texas and Perry got its unpopularity and dropped the issue.

I think that Bachman is making such a big deal of this issue appears a little desparate IMO>

The lie: Gardasil is linked to mental retardation.
She flat out made it up, and spread it in the national media.
Crazy woman.

Michelle bachamnn should a lot of promise but sadly turned out to be a kook.

One gets the impression she is doing the attack from the Perry to help Romney.

Remember Bachmann has refused to go after Romney.
