Reporting from Washington A so-called Super PAC that supports Michele Bachmann is going after Rick Perry, suggesting that he doesnt merit the support of the "tea party" movement.
It's the first real attack on Perry since polls have shown him to be the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination.
It hammers Perry on the one area where he could be potentially vulnerable with the tea party movement: his 11-year track record as governor of Texas. The spot paints him as an executive who escalated state spending, citing a Wall Street Journal report last month that said the state offered nearly $10 billion in short-term bonds to prop up its general revenue fund.
The state Legislature this year had to work to close a $27-billion budget deficit.

Bachmann is probably looking for a VP slot if Romney gets the nod. I wouldn’t vote for Bachmann for any reason after that vicious attack and lie, when she attacked Perry. I expect a Presidential candidate or nominee to verify information before spouting it to a national audience. She did neither. Consequently, if by a miracle she got the nomination. I would simply stay home.
“This falls in the category, of you can take the liberal oust of the democrap party but you cannot take the liberal out of the man . Spending on green energy, how Obummer. “
You mean like Bachmann’s support of ethanol subsidies?
None of them are clean as a whistle (even Ron Paul put earmarks into bills), except maybe Herman Cain, since he never was in office.
“Just sit back and watch the candidates pummel er vet each other. Then, when they are exposed for what they really are, Palin enters. ...”
... at which point she will be in too late to get the grassroots organization and funding to be serious, get vetted even WORSE over so many items from ACES to her lack of experience (18 mos as gov of Alaska means only did one state budget in a state smaller in population than some US cities) to the ugly nasty personal slurs from that Joe M. creep and his book, and come in third in Iowa and trail badly after that, closing up her campaign like Fred Thompson did in 2008. Her ‘unelectability’ will keep too many voters cautious about her, and she doesnt have the ability to get her image change with a media that distorts everything she is about. So it wont go well.
... for Romney. At this point Romney’s only chance would be for Palin to come in and upset Perry’s frontrunning status. Perry/Palin split Tea Party vote and then Romney wins.
Tea Party folks wont know what hit ‘em. Genius!
“For the last three years he has been living in a 10K per month rented mansion at taxpayers expense. Due to Texas law, he lives a life of luxury from donations (although legal).”
As a fellow Texan, let me point out that a vandal burned down the Governor’s mansion, leaving us with no official residence for the Gov. so Perry is renting an upscale home in Austin, complete with enough space for security etc. This is not unreasonable. A year’s rent is less than one Obama White House dinner cost.
I have to say that is NOT a problem and the only people who really care about it were the Bill White Democrats.
$100K/yr cost is not bad when the Texas budget is $180b ovr 2 years.
Bachmann did a good job on Leno’s show tonight, despite Leno’s obvious bias. I wouldn’t be surprised if her poll ratings increased significantly.
She has to deal with lies she told that still hang out there. Going on Leno will not make people forget who know she lied, no matter how she performed.
There’s some college professors who initially offered $10,000 for anyone who can show a link between gardasil and mental retardation.
I’m not sure of their stance on the following, but if I were them I would also offer the money to anyone who can prove that a woman cried to Michele after the debate that gardasil made her child mentally retarded.
Where is that woman??
And you’re supporting who and why?
I’m not a huge Rick Perry fan, but Michele (I keep sticking my foot in my mouth) Bachmann is starting to piss me off royally. She acted, and looked, like a witch in the last debate and now she is hell-bent on trying to destroy other GOP candidates. Way to go Michele; send our nominee, whomever it might be (but it sure as hell won’t be you), into the General Election wounded and bleeding and half dead so Barack Hussein Obama can finish off him, or her, on November 6, 2012. Yeah you go girl!!!
Michele Bachmann is not ready to occupy the Oval Office.
“Where is that woman??”
Maybe the woman doesn’t want to step forward.
Bachmann merely repeated what the woman said, so how was she lying?
Gardisil is linked to brain damage:
It’s probably not that common, but that could be what the woman in the audience was talking about.
