America is still fighting over President Obama's costly bailout of Chrysler and General Motors. Especially the owners of Ford, the only member of Detroit's "Big Three" who rejected the government dole and emerged perfectly healthy.

[Check out our editorial cartoons on President Obama.]

In its most political ad in the so-called "Drive One" ads where real drivers are thrust before cameras to explain why they picked Ford, a real Ford F-150 pick-up driver is featured.

Heck, Ford has a really fuel efficient turbo V6 available in their trucks that makes more power than the base V8 available in the Government Motors competition.

The 3.6 liter Ecoboost.

I'm looking at a new f150 and read up on the engine. It has more horsepower and torque than the 5.0 V8 and costs around $2,500 more.

Before reading this thread it was between the Tundra and the F150. Ford just won me over by having the balls to run this ad. It's the 150 for me - I like the way it looks better than the Tundra anyway.

I'll be getting the v8 though.

NO accusation. Just being vigilent.

Look for results of the 55 vehicles being tested under NHTSA’s new 5-star safety ratings system to be posted on the agency’s website, www.safercar.gov. When the new safety ratings become available, consumers will not be able to compare them to old ones since the testing criteria has changed. It will also be more difficult to achieve a high safety rating in this new program.

I’m glad to hear those ads are running. I have satellite too but I don’t watch very much of that.
