NEW YORK (AP) -- President Barack Obama warned Monday that the United States is headed down a "perilous path" if its leaders cannot move quickly and responsibly to help people get back to work.

Obama, speaking at an exclusive Park Avenue fundraiser for his re-election and for other Democrats, promoted his plans to spur hiring and put a dent in the long-term debt. He proposes to pay for his ideas in large part by raising taxes on wealthy Americans and corporations.

Republican leaders have offered strong opposition to his economic program.

`'If we don't succeed, then I think this country is going to go down a very perilous path," Obama told his audience in brief remarks in front of reporters.

He said that meant conditions would get worse for everyone, rich and poor.

Obama spoke at the home of Ralph Schlosstein and Jane Hartley. About 60 people paid $35,800 each to attend.

I am so sick of the evil lies that come from Obama. People are not focused on what he is doing. He is purposefully shaping the attitudes and thoughts of the masses by repeating half-truths and diametric lies. Yes, people are answering against what he is saying but not the technique he is constantly using - pure Alinsky, pure Satan.

Someone in the GOP or the candidates or (God hoping) Sarah need to continually speak of his technique to the American People, so that the masses start to say "Yeah, he says what sounds right in theory and principle but he himself is the one who is doing things the opposite."

He is in constant brainwash mode - every time, not sometimes, not most of the time - EVERY time he opens his mouth he employs this strategy - speak the opposite of what is or what he is doing or intending, so that people get suckered and subconsciously think he's on the right track.
