Perry's response was forceful and personal. "I don't think you have a heart," Perry told his critics.
"If you say that we should not educate children who come into our state for no other reason than that they've been brought their through no fault of their own, I don't think you have a heart," Perry said. "We need to be educating these children because they will become a drag on our society. I think that's what Texans wanted to do. Out of 181 members of the Texas legislature when this issue came up [there were] only four dissenting votes. This was a state issue. Texas voted on it. And I still support it today."

If I as a Conservative have no heart, so be it. I think many will say the same.
No one wants to keep these kids from an education but they should have to pay the out of state tuition, just like American kids who come from other places do.
Ah, this is depressing, I have no candidate and the one candidate that I don’t know if I can bring myself to vote for may get the nomination.

You are not wrong. He does not have conservative instincts, it is all stagecraft.
If they are legal, then educate them. They are citizens. If not, send them and their parents home. Not our responsibility.

I was pretty dismayed when I read that Perry said that. I had heard he was weak on immigration, but that is over the top. Pay their tuition? How about buy them a bus ticket home?
