New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is reconsidering his decision not to enter the 2012 presidential race and he says he will let top Republican donors know within days about his plans, Newsmax has learned. During the past few weeks, several leading Republican donors and fundraisers have been urging the popular Republican governor to reconsider his decision not to run and to enter the GOP primary. These Christie supporters note that significant GOP support has remained on the sidelines of the primary fight. Many leading fundraisers have yet to commit to any current primary contender, including frontrunners Rick Perry and Mitt Romney. Newsmax has learned that the effort to draft Christie culminated in a hush-hush powwow held in the past week with Christie and several notable Republican billionaires.

lol! He will use helicopters and limos.
“You apparently think voting for a labelGOPis more important than principles.”
Straw man.
“not another rino!
lose 150 lbs and get back to us.”
Soooo ...*weight* is now a qualifier for the RINO description?
I posted a link awhile back on this thread showing what kind of gun grabber Christie really was, and still you defend him, and her.
One can be considered conservative if they embrace liberal ideas but write a book?
LOL!
Yep! Four more years of this and we are done.
“I know Krauthammer is now considered a subversive tool by some on here, but he nailed it last night. We have to defeat Obama otherwise four more years of this makes our conversion to a socialist democracy like Europe irreversible.”
Lol! I know.... I have disagreed with Mr. Krauthammer on more than one occasion but I still like him and am always ready to listen to what he has to say.
As for Rubio, I honestly think he’s made himself clear about his intention to get more experience under his belt.
Overall, I remain undecided and I’m praying for our nation. Our problems are far more complex than simply being economic.
I also agree with you regarding the importance of the House and Senate. We definitely need majorities there....and I’m not hearing much about those candidates necessary to accomplish this. We ignore that to our own peril.
OOPS...I missed your point. lol
I was joking about him being appointed, but I didn’t realize you meant he wouldn’t “win” NJ in the presidential primaries.
“I posted a link awhile back on this thread showing what kind of gun grabber Christie really was, and still you defend him, and her.

I have not defended anyone. I simply have objected to the increased verbal attacks on any and all candidates when no substantive proof is given. Regarding Ann Coulter, you presented no reasons for attacking her. And now you allude to her “liberal ideas.” WHAT liberal ideas?
As for Christie’s support for a particular piece of legislation, I would need more information on his reasoning.
The House and Senate are why I’m not worried about a Romney presidency. We all know that Romney will go where the prevailing winds take him. If he wins big, it also means a lot of very conservative candidates down ballot also win. Paul Ryan and Jim DeMint will set the agenda as will the conservative governors.
Great idea! :-)
I don't want Rombot to be President, so, yeah.
“If he wins big, it also means a lot of very conservative candidates down ballot also win.”
I don’t think we should automatically assume that.
Not IN. Not even close. IN resumes GOP streak dating back nearly half a century.
To make it worse, Mitch (who would unfortunately be a VP consideration under Christie) will cozy up to Christie and (possibly together) cruise by 7% over Bobo.
You know, isn't it the case that a sizable minority in Presidential history were overweight? Certainly the Adams, then Fillmore, Buchanan, Grant, Garfield, Arthur, Taft, Cleveland, Teddy, Bubba...And then there are a bunch more who were paunchy -- Washington, Harding, Ike, Johnson, Ford, Nixon...that's over 40%...
By appearances for sure, but she won't -- I think it's good old-fashioned grudge work at play here stemming from back when Bobo called Bubba a racist in the run-up to that So. Carolina primary.
Bubba has not only given cover to anyone who opposes Bobo's job bill, but also Bubba crushed Bobo's raison d'etre for his 2012 re-election campaign.
Wishful thinking. 2008 shows what happens when you run a “moderate”.
Christie supports Global Warming propoganda, Sharia Law in US Courts, and is even more lackluster on social issues than John McCain was.
VA would be gone. He get blown out in the same counties McCain did (Loudon, Chesapeake, etc) and would not do as well as need be in SW VA. VA doesn’t take too kind to running moderates.
NC would be uphill as well for the same reason.
FL would be an outright disaster. Rubio would not save him anymore than Palin could not save McCain. The I-4 corridor would be lost and with it, the state.
MO would be another nail-biter.
MT would be in serious jeopardy.
In a close race where a group of people (Conservatives, Tea Party) would be very unhappy with a candidate like Christie, don’t underestimate his weakness or lack of support. IN would be close enough for Lake County to try their “magic”.
This isn’t even to mention that Christie is an even weaker candidate in the South/Midwest than even Romney.
Christie is an electoral disaster waiting to happen.
Electoral history doesn't back your assertions. Your analysis treats 2008 as the rule, rather than what it was -- the exception -- a Perfect Storm against the GOP, not to be repeated in 50 years or longer.
Christie is even more liberal than Romney...
He is ? On what basis ?
Great question....a lot of things have changed here at FreeRepublic lately. It’s too bad, honestly.
I remember the days when folks were outing the media for the Bush Vietnam memos. It was awesome, exposing liberals at every turn. Now if you dare to say you would vote for someone like Romney if it was him vs Obama, you’re threatened as a zot. Bizarre behavior.
Every candidate is flawed. Instead of attacking each other and giving Hussein Obama fodder for his own ads, they should be attacking the Muslim Marxist non-stop.

Agreed.
If they loved country more than their own selves and could see past winning the party’s nomination, they would agree to try and top each other by condemning Obama’s policies, rather than by slitting each other’s throats.

Hey, newbie troll/retread - watch yourself - this is not your playground!
Bring on the gun grabbing , global warming believing , loud mouth. He wont make it out of NH with his leftist beliefs on everything but fiscal issues.

Why can’t he run as a Democrat??
Yeah, I am now hiding under my desk shaking in fear because an internet commando told me to watch out.
****************************
Really? Would you care to provide documentation of bias?
That’s a good place for you and your shameful behavior. But as a retread, you certainly shown - right out of the gate - how ‘comfortable’ you are trashing conservative freepers with your conservative mask on. Posts, like the sound of a voice, are unique. I recognize your voice.
Retread? Noob? Troll? is this the way you argue when you lose an argument. One poster posted a vile post against another one and I call him on it. That is all. Now you can go ahead and make another childish name calling against me.
Exactly. And I like him. Certainly no picture of health myself. My “exercise” consists of walking to the fridge and standing in a classroom with high school kids checking on their work. I need to change before I hit 30. But, he is seriously morbidly obese and considering a run for the highest office in the land.
Agree. This is more a threat to Romney.
What does the vile attack on Bristol Palin have to do with a poster posting vile sexual stuff about another poster? Did you also notice that the mods removed his vile post # 289?
What the heck did you just say?
Saw him on 60 minutes re the whole doomsday scenario with state pensions and state bankruptcy. Liked his personality but have no idea just how conservative he is.
Noob? Haha, thats rich. You signed up days ago and call someone here a noob.
Stick around awhile and earn your stripes.
You may have some comprehension problems. I did not call anyone noob I was just saying that two guys here are calling me noob, troll, retread.
Why would she want a RINO as king we already have a Marxist!
“I remember the days when folks were outing the media for the Bush Vietnam memos. It was awesome, exposing liberals at every turn. Now if you dare to say you would vote for someone like Romney if it was him vs Obama, youre threatened as a zot. Bizarre behavior”
Exactly!!! This used to be my primary place to get the latest and best information. I was VERY impressed with the adult sharing and cooperative effort to get to the TRUTH.....and really work TOGETHER!
;-(
In some ways, that has been replaced with little more than sophomoric name-calling.
Thank you so much for the adult response....s/
(Actually, I take that to mean that you have nothing.)
The fence is symbolic, it is the attitude that goes along with the resistance that matters.
The United States is a Great Country because of the culture, Mexico is a cr@p hole because of the culture.
I see this sentiment expressed by many freepers. The question we should be asking is; Would it really matter if Sarah couldn't beat Obama? If Obama could beat anyone other the the devil himself, would we not already be lost to the Socialist cesspool our RINO brothers have built?
The democrats can elect dead people and we can't elect an honest person of faith? Turn out the lights then, it is over.
Amen to everything you say.
See post 113.
That’s all I need to hate him....would never pull the lever for that gun grabbing POS.
Please see post 113
I, too, use to enjoy FR and visted frequently. But, I found out a few months ago, if you were not a Palin worshiper, then you were not welcomed here anymore. It is very sad !!
I will support anyone that is able to defeat Obama. The attacks on Chris Christie, that I have read on here today, is very troubling to me. To win the WH back, we need a candidate that will attract independent voters...and that seems to escape the good old gang here.
Before I disapear again, I leave the following from Chris Christie which makes a lot of sense to me and why I support and hope he will enter the race ---
Christie suggested to an audience at New Jersey's Rider University that the current GOP candidates are not answering the public's appetite for real leadership.
"I think what the country is thirsting for, more than anything else right now, is someone of stature and credibility to tell them that and say, 'Here's where I want us to go to deal with this crisis,'" Christie said.
Christie continued: "The fact that nobody yet who's running for president, in my view, has done that effectively is why you continue to hear people ask Daniels if he'll reconsider and ask me if I'll reconsider."
Your post at 286 was disgusting..You, sir, need to live up to your “Christian and Conservative “ description on your home page...
No, it wasn’t as vile as the statements made against Palin in an interview with the rapist..but you were talking to a FReeper...not Tyson.
I pushed the abuse button.
Just a question for you.
Which candidate do you support in the race?
Cheers!
