CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) -- Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann is dismissing concerns about the strength of her campaign, saying she's the Republican with the best conservative credentials and "the complete skill set" to become president.

Whatever. She can’t answer simple questions. She cannot interact with her environment in these debates. She has a perfectly pure answer for every question and will not give people insight into how she weighs her thoughts when confronted with subject matter that might require shades of gray thinking.

Any other answer would have given critics a number to beat her with.

To say 100% is pure idiocy.

I wished she would use more examples of her experience to be President other than having foster children. I like her and love her views. She’s just not presidential material.

I guess she’s ending her campaign because she doesn’t have “the complete skill set.”

I noticed all of this myself.

Bachmann is irrelevant to any decisions of Palin and won’t hurt Palin now that she has fallen by the wayside in the race. Bachmann numbers and following are so low right now that when Palin enters that just the natural surge of Palin support will finish off what’s left of Bachmann’s hopes for the nomination

Here’s my answer. We look at the Constitution. What is authorized by the Constitution and how can we get it for the lowest cost? You get to keep everything else.

I am sick and tired of these RINOs that they try to force on us

You should reconsider the possibility that, if you still call yourself a Republican, that it is YOU who are the RINO.

The history of the Republican Party since 1929 doesn't really support the idea that it is receptive to, or willing to promote, conservatism.

Mitt Romney may very well be an appropriate representative of what the GOP has become.

In your post, you use the terms "Republican" and "conservative" as if they are interchangeable.

In this, you are most likely mistaken.

Then why is she running interference for The Mittster?

Amen. Michelle in particular, and also Santorum are doing their best to make sure the phony Northeastern politician is the candidate. In particular, I'd like to see Santorum go after Mitt. He probably won't in hopes of a VP consideration.

Anyone who thought she would be a smarter, gaffe-free version of Palin should apologize to the country...and Sarah Palin.

hmm so why was Michele in a fight with Pawlenty during the first debates?
Why does Santorum like to fight Ron Paul so much?

I have to go to bat for Michele. Is she a conservative? Yes. Do I agree with 80-90% of what she says? Yes. Do I like the basic text of her speeches. Yes. Does she make an occasional gaffe or gets off topic sometimes. Yes. How would we all do being under the press gun 24/7?

I still say reading the text of Sarah and Michele's speeches tells me they are the most conservative candidates. I want a conservative for President and Vice President. To me it's all pretty simple. . . What candidates give our country the best chance of long term survival?

Think of your grandkids. . and their unborn grandkids. .

I'll close with an open invitation to libs to read the text of Sarah and Michele's speeches. Maybe start with Sarah's Indianola speech. If you honestly disagree with her 5 point plan, then move to Cuba.

Bachmann repeatedly urged people not to settle on a moderate candidate who is seen as better able to cobble together the diverse coalition of voters needed to beat President Barack Obama. "This message has to be driven home by conservatives: We can't settle. We can't settle. We have to have a candidate who has it all," she said.

Bachmann is 10,000% correct. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. We DO NOT have to settle.

To say anything less launches a slide down a slippery slope, which is what we’re on as we head towards more VOTERS than TAXPAYERS.

My tagline used to be “Repeal to 1789.” That’s because I thought the way you deal with big spenders, is you start the negotiations at 1789, and work up from there.

I believe she also said in that speech that you need to have raised at least 22 foster children to be the right candidate. We shouldn’t settle for anything less than that either.

Keeping 100% of your income is the very premise behind the Fair Tax. Perhaps she's been doing some homework on consumption taxation. The question was a loaded one, designed to provide cannon fodder for the media. I thought she evaded that damage skillfully if not eloquently.
