I saw this as well... 5 percent is not much to overcome this early in the cycle. If Cain can outlast 3 or 4 other candidates, this will bump him well over 40%. The Obama administration must be soiling their undies right about now.

Considering the rule for undecideds breaking 3-1 to the challenger, this poll is horrid news for Oblameo. Dick Morris said it best, incumbent Presidents are like wives, if you are asked about if you want to stay married and you are undecided, well you do the logic.

13 months out, but if the Dick Morris formula that at least 2/3rds of undecideds go for the challenger is valid then the haloed one is in huge trouble.

It would be a B*tch slapping of epic porportions....We have not seen such a display since General Honore and his stuck on stupid retort...

Again, a lot of the negatives here are from die-hards supporting other candidates in the primary fight.
HOPEFULLY, ALL of us will pull together REGARDLESS of political purity once a nominee is selected, and do EVERYTHING WE CAN to flush that bastard out of the Oval Office in the General Election.

Cain had this to say about gun control:
Cains view on the Second Amendment is completely at odds with the mainstream conservative Republican position, in that, Cain favors state level gun control legislation..
yes, that (gun legislation) should be a states decision.

Oh I’m giddy with excitement for the POTUS debates.
“The One” has got to be dreading them. It’s easy your first term because you don’t have a record and can promise the world. Once you have a record like Obama it can only be a brutal public flogging.

You will also find past support for affirmative action. Hardly a conservative position.
Add in promoting the fairy tax, which has now morphed into 999 as a first step.
Put together I doubt his current popularity will last once folks start checking.
I do like Cain though and would pull the handle for him if it came to that. It wont.

I understand your concerns. That said, I would vote for this cat turd before I would stay at home, not vote and let Obama win a second term. I'm not a party guy but there's too much at stake in this election not to support the GOP candidate.

I didn’t hear that. I might have to rethink that ‘pulling the handle’ part.
I refuse to ever vote for any ticket with worthless liberal bastard Romney on it. I don’t care who he is running against.

Pretty good for first poll.
Everyone knows Barack Husein is President, not many know who Herman Cain is.
To: All
Story now at the
Daily Caller:
Herman Cain trails President Barack Obama by a mere five points in a head-to-head match up, according to a Rasmussen poll released Wednesday.
In a poll of 1,000 likely voters, 34 percent said they would vote for Cain, while 39 percent said they would vote for Obama. Fourteen percent said they would vote for another candidate, and 14 percent said they were not sure.
Of all the candidates polled in general election match-ups with Obama, Cain holds the president to his lowest percentage of the vote in the past month. No other candidate holds Obama to below 40 percent of the vote in Rasmussens September polling. Ron Paul had Obama at 39 percent, taking 38 percent of the vote in August, but in a poll released Wednesday, Obama now leads Paul by 10 percentage points: Forty-four percent to 34 percent.
Black voters break in favor of Obama in the poll, with 76 percent saying they would vote for him and just 3 percent saying they would vote for Cain. Twenty percent said they were not sure.

It was at the last debate. It’s probably on the web someplace. Romney was his first choice, he said, if Romney would choose at that time to support Cain’s positions.
