If you answered “a gun,” you’d be correct.
Based on polling research and gun-sale statistics, an estimated 15 million to 20 million women in the United States own their own firearms. Dozens of those heat-packing women are documented in “Chicks with Guns,” a new book by photographer Lindsay McCrum that is sure to challenge almost anyone’s assumptions about gun ownership.
“Their numbers are really high but their profile is actually really low,” said McCrum, who spent three and a half years capturing artistic and arresting portraits of women with their weapons of choice.
“I was so surprised by the variety and breadth and diversity of these women,” McCrum said. “There are so many stereotypes about guns, mostly derived from popular culture, but the reality is so much more complex and varied than you can imagine.”

Interesting photos, but somewhat beside the point. It is the handgun that is the firearm of choice for personal protection, for obvious reasons.

Go to the slide show ... enough handguns to suit ya. But really, do you believe women who are comfortable with shotgun and rifle are not going to have a handgun stashed someplace handy?

Mine as well and her mom also packs a firearm. Her mom is a concealed deadly weapons instructor and usually buys me a new gun each Christmas. She’s a sweetie like her daughter.

My sister-in-law says that I “pack heat.” I don’t think that she approves. My brother, some time ago, said out of a clear blue sky, “only the army and cops should have guns.” Their house is gun-free. We are sons of a retired Detroit cop, and are both vets, but the similarities end there.
But that first pictue of the thong as weapon holder is just WRONG!

I hate that WIBC only has her for an hour. I usually turned off after Rush, but I was outside working on the deck and she came on. I’m going, ‘who is this chick - she rocks!’. I now stream her show through my iPhone “TuneIn Radio” app.
Personally, I think she needs three hours following Rush. That would give us six hours of conservative broadcast goodness.
And she loves bacon.
WIBC is only the second station in the US to pick her up. I’m guessing that they are going to decide based on her ratings.
It’s kind of ironic that WIBC is owned by mega liberal Jeff Smulyan but has Garrison, Rush, and Dana on all day.
At least the guy knows what sells in the marketplace.
Well Emmis does own both stations. I guess we need to contact WIBC and demand the full two hours. Cause streaming can suck, especially if your driving through the country and cell service drops off or switches to slo-tech.
Now, here is a Girl with a real gun. She is an AC-130 Gunner.
Vanessa Dobos is a gunner on a USAF AC-130 Gunship. She has seen action in Iraq and Afghanistan. She likes long walks on the beach, men who are not afraid to cry and puppies.
Her dislikes include feed tray stoppages, tracer flareout of her NVGs and premature fixed-wing strikes scattering her high-value targets.
How many men own guns?
P.S. Owning a gun does NOT equal "packing heat." The LSM strikes again.

But, to claim that merely owning a gun equates to “packing heat” is ridiculous. Not every gun is carried around in a purse or a pocket. Some actually are housed in a long case and are used to harvest wild game or crush clay targets.
