President Obama's performance on national security and terrorism may have exceeded expectations, but with a stubbornly high jobless rate and the financial markets in turmoil, his re-election hopes remain tied to the economy, analysts say.
But polls show voters are more focused on the economy than terrorism. According to an Associated Press-GfK poll conducted in late August, 92 percent of those questioned said the economy was an extremely or very important issue. By comparison, 73 percent put the same emphasis on terrorism, but even they're divided over whether Obama should be re-elected.
While Obama got a high approval rating on terrorism â 60 percent -- his overall approval rating fell to an all-time low in the poll, 46 percent.

I’m sorry but just because he is killing our enemies that doesn’t mean they are defeated. Had Obama captured these people we would have a better chance of defeating them.
Sez who? The CIA and US Military have been bumping off "second in command" jihadis for ten years now. They continue to do so despite the regime change in 2008. Nothing new here. Obama is as much a spectator as the rest of us are.
Beyond that, his "performance" has been a disaster, as Afghanistan, Egypt and Libya will illustrate shortly.
Absolutely right. All he’s done on terrorism is follow the Bush Administration policies. Everything the Obummer has thought up by himself (or by his commie advisers) is an absolute and complete failure.
He looked like he was sulking in the corner of the war room the day they supposedly got Bin Laden,like he was upset they interrupted his golf game.No pics,no body,I’m still not convinced.They sure didn’t have no problem showing Uday and Qusay all bloodied and Uday’s steel rod cut out of his leg.What are they hiding?
