President Barack Obama sharply rebuked his Republican rivals Saturday, saying anyone who wants to be commander in chief must support the entire U.S. military, including gay service members.
A combative Obama criticized Republican presidential candidates for staying silent when the crowd at a recent debate booed a gay soldier who asked a question of the contenders via videotape.
"You want to be commander in chief? You can start by standing up for the men and women who wear the uniform of the United States, even when it's not politically convenient," Obama said during remarks at the annual dinner of the Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest gay rights organization.
Referencing the boos at the Sept. 22 Republican debate, he said: "We don't believe in standing silent when that happens."
Obama touted his administration's efforts to repeal the military's ban on openly gay service members, as well as his orders to the Justice Department to stop enforcing a law defining marriage as between one man and one woman...

I asked a young active duty U.S. Marine what he thought about gays serving openly in his Marine Corps ?
He told me this ; “ We they let me billet with female Marines and when they let me shower with female Marines , I will have no problem with them letting gays serve in the open , but otherwise , FORGET IT ! “
This whole deal has been shoved down their throats , no pun intended . It needs to be totally reversed ASAP .
If gays want to serve , they should join the Peace Corps , not the Marine Corps

Why the GOP candidates don't push for repeal of the Fag Act that was hurriedly passed in a lame duck Congress by men and women who were just defeated at the polls is beyond me. There is little public support for a homo military and the rat Congress at the time run by Pelosi and Reid were scared to death to vote on it before the election.
Anyone afraid to profess repeal the the Fag Act will not have the courage to repeal Obamacare or take on the administrative agencies that are in actuality ruling our country. It is essential to roll back the damage done by these people.

Could someone provide me a reason why homosexuals should not be allowed to serve in the military? Keep in mind I am secular conservative, so religious arguments do not appeal to me.
Gays HAVE been serving in the Military since the Country was Founded. Who or what you have sex with should not be an Issue,that is Why dont ask dont tell worked. Heterosexuals dont go around Bragging that they have sex with the opposite sex,it has NOTHING to do with your job.So Just stfu about it.

The Republicans could be reaping the benefits of this just as we did when gay marriaged was imposed by the Massachusetts judiciary. But instead of showing we respect the uniform even when we disagree with the point, the idiots in that crowd handed Obama a perfect weapon with which to label all Republicans as haters. Thanks, guys!
Debates should be dispassionate, not another excuse for people to pretend they`re at a game sshow. If you can`t be an adult and shut up for the time it takes for a debate, to allow the issues to be put out there and so the candidates can express positions [like Santorum`s] that make our points rationally, then stay home. Those bigmouthed boors were the best campaigners Obama could ask for.

I really don’t have much of a problem with gay marriage either. If it is between two consenting adults, then the state should not interfere with their private lives.
