That might have been my “rationale” if I had not already pointed to the contrary in several posts.
Cause these children took me apart, filling me up with email and on the board they mocked and ridiculed me but so okay, it's all part of the territory and if I deserve ridicule then fine. I tell this anecdote most because there's a lesson of sorts buried within.

Well I must have offended every a capella at colleges across the fruited plain and I'm a no good know nothing with questionable academic credentials.

I paraphrase one email to me "you must have never attended a college with a stellar a capella choral group" and hey, no, I didn't.
So I ponder, what the hell, is this some new kind of standard, a degree from a college with an outstanding a capella choir with such as winning collegiate football teams winning of no import?
In fact I graduated college after a full thirteen years of grueling night school, paid for by my employer that made me take accounting instead of writing, which I do much better.
Those a capella choral groups featured on this NBC series, they work hard at their craft, I give them this. But they strike me as rather spoiled rich kids with time to spare to sport whacky outfits and sing in harmony on the steps to the campus library. But hold your fire, I say this here in the company of those who know my tongue in cheek, goodness I didn't cast aspersions on The Morton Report comment board to all those crucifying me for...guess what? THINKING THE SHOW WAS BORING!!
Well how double damn dare I, they shouted. You think cause you're an alto in a choir that somehow makes me knowledgeable on a capella choirs...they screamed. You don't know who Ben Folds and Sara Bareilles are....you are a heathan....they mocked.
Well yeah, I think being in a choir gives me some insight to the world of choral harmony, the difficulty of singing one tune when the guy next to you is singing another. Not saying it made me an expert but as I saw it, The Sing-Off was going to be viewed probably by a capella choir members, wonderful thoughtful folks they, and I dunno, maybe altos and tenors in church choirs would be more inclined to watch a show about a capella harmonic singing groups then, say, a singer in a rock and roll band. So I consider, as an icon of America that might tune and watch the show...self-appointed I know....that my opinion is worth something.
As for Ben Folds....all I know about Ben Folds is he was the judge for this series last year. He's evidently some bigwig in music so I asked my husband, winner of a nationwide music trivia contest, and all he could say was Ben Fold was some kind of piano player.
Neither criticism, I add now, having anything to do that I THOUGHT THE SHOW WAS BORING! You don't need a degree from an a-cappellaed approved college or have intimate knowledge of Ben Folds and Sara Bareilles to know when you're freaking bored!
But their criticism is fine, is why comments are allowed, except my editor sends me a big alarm email....Pat, something crazy's going on with you post on The Sing-Off...go respond."
Which I did and as I understand, now done with the whole thing, the arguments raged on.
See, if they beat you up enough, if they mock you enough, if they take apart everything germane about you, that which you think gives you insight....THEY WANT TO YOU NOT CRITICIZE! For if you do not criticize.....no one will know this show is boring. As they think, because NBC has this thing going two hours at a viewing and I got a bridge to sell anyone if the average viewer's going to sit for two hours and listen to a bunch of singing groups sing without accompaniment, without much of nothing, save their voices.
Yes they have talent, yes they've probably practiced hard...it's just not the stuff of riveting television.
It's my position and I'm sticking to it. And if you disagree, watch the damn show, God Bless.

So Cheney and his daughter are guests on Candy Crowley and I am surprised. Crowley asks Dick if Bush’s decision on allowing the charge against Scooter Libby go through split them totally apart.
Cheney hemmed and hawed, he said they were not irretrivably torn apart but that decision was a very sore point between them.
Folks, I don’t know if you remember the Valerie Plame/Scooter Libby flap, but dang it was the guy in the state dept....forget his name, buddy of Colin Powell, who released the nothing burger information about Valerie Plame, NOT Scooter Libby...everyone knew this.

Valerie Plame....a secretary pretending to be a secret spy and a Vice-presidential assistant getting charged with a crime he had nothing to do with....Dubya and his admin....along with Karl Rove I’ve no doubt, shall forever be blackened in my eyes for that lack of backbone.

I understand your point, but a better answer on the criticism Bush got would have been to answer back specifically and with outrage about the charge of lying.
