Rick Perry’s Texas hunting spot's racially charged name lingered. [Wabbit season! Troll season!]

Paint Creek, Tex. — In the early years of his political career, Rick Perry began hosting fellow lawmakers, friends and supporters at his family’s secluded West Texas hunting camp, a place known by the name painted in block letters across a large, flat rock standing upright at its gated entrance.

“Niggerhead,” it read.

The name of this particular parcel did not change for years after it became associated with Rick Perry, first as a private citizen, then as a state official and finally as Texas governor.

Herman Cain was asked about this, he did not bring it up. He answered honestly.

Cain actually lived through having to sit in the back of the bus, and drink from the colored fountain, I can imagine this word holds some real meaning for him. For him, it was a word full of hatred and danger, not just some slang as it is used today.

For all he went through as a child, and not getting into the school he wanted as a black man, he never used that as a crutch or excuse. Cain talks about what a great country we are for having risen above all of that.

There’s also a White Rock Lake in Dallas. Perry has been governor for 11 years and has done nothing to get rid of that name. Obviously he’s trying to signal to white people that he’s one of them.

This is a home job. Recall Obama’s campaign just a few weeks ago, maybe three, called for Texas democrats to turn over every stone? LOL. They know who their nemesis is. It isn’t Romney and it isn’t going to be Cain. It’s the one with the goods to govern a nation and already has Texas to show for it. Rick has it and they want it. Next?

I think focusing one’s energy researching issues like this is a niggardly use of honest political dialog.

FYI: From German-English dictionary

German: NEGER translates to NEGRO in English.

NEGERHEAD, or NIGGERHEAD,...little difference

Obama campaign and the press in full swing hoping Republicans eat each other alive and all we have left is Mitt Romney. The day he becomes our nominee, they will gladly point all all his warts - a rich country club, big corporation Republican who never had to work a day in his life to support his family. They will easily demoralize us in a big way.

Does anyone here believe in Fox News anymore? If Obama wins again more people will watch them. They have a vested interest in seeing that the candidates destroy each other and we are left with Romney. They rarely point out his faults.

Our friend Cain is just that, but he’s going to be a gaffe machine and the LEFT can’t wait to scatter the conservative sheep using his musings against Rick to divide us. The fear seems consistently to point to Rick. He can dismantle socialism, but many prefer the yakkers to an actual footprint. If we but man up we can win this thing.

Its not just the MSM, its idiots like staff who never promote any candidate, only bash on Perry every thread even resorting to liberal silly links about a hunting camp which had the name a hundred years and PERRY changed.

If these bashers are not ronpalu then they are those DU trolls that brag about disrupting on FR.

“Cain was asked a direct question about the Perry Rock story during an interview this morning on Fox News Sunday. Educate yourself. Watch the interview or read the transcript.”

Exactly. Cain does not “use the race card”. He lived through time when this word had real meaning and he was responded to it with honesty.

For those who came out and say they will no longer support Cain - give me a break. Do you believe anyone thinks you really supported him in the first place? I have posted Cain articles since April 2010 and I have a pretty good idea who supports Cain and who doesn’t on FR. LOL!

Pretty soon we will have to rename Utah, both Dakotas, Illinois, Indiana, and any other state whose name comes from an Indian nation. No wonder GM stopped making Pontiac.

You’d rather vote for Romney than Cain? That’s the conclusion they want you to come to. Then when you have Romney, they will make you very sorry.

” I want nothing to do with Cain.”

Cain has been a real disappointment this week.
He spent a lot of time running down the other Republican candidates ,
especially Perry ,
although Santorum and Paul can’t be pleased with his descriptions
of them on Leno, either .
He could have been gracious to Palin on Leno calling him the wrong name , instead he “ forgave her “ , but , just “ this time.”
Arrogance is never a pleasing quality in a candidate.

Yes, a troll slipped out there forty are fifty years ago and painted the rock. Someone is telling one, paint on a rock lying flat will not last ten years, unless someone comes by and repaints it occasionally.

Don’t worry about Caindog, it don’t hunt. He won’t be more than a flash in the pan and already fizzling fast. FNC and MSM see that and are now rapidly pushing Global Warming Christie as a dodge for Romney.

This isn’t the first of them trying to tag Perry with the racist label. I think they are ready to put *Perry the racist* into high gear.

Then, as people point fingers and back away from the ‘racist’ Perry—it will give the left a told-ya-so towards the GOP.

To go after a candidate for something that has been around for years is pretty pathetic. I don't like Perry one bit, but I wouldn't look twice at this.

Herman Cain, OTOH.....can we say, hook, line, and sinker? Peas in a pod.
