Sarah Palin: Is her caribou cooked already?
Investor's Business Daily ^ | 10/3/2011 | Andrew Malcolm

Eleven days before Michigan's candidate registration deadline. And we still don't know if former Gov. Sarah Palin is going, as she puts it, to toss her name into the hat.

Here's Palin's problem: We don't know. She likes it that way. It's late by contemporary announcement standards. And many of us, even those fascinated by her refreshing rogueness, have stopped caring. Certainly her would-be Republican opponents have moved on, as they should.

So, does it even matter now if SP drives her beautiful bus straight through the gates of tradition into a rogue race?

The fact that they are even posing the question means that it is not.

Palin has them all tied in knots.

They aren't used to not calling the shots.

I know that all the so called "back and forth" is media driven but even I'm tired of waiting.

She is who I really think would stick to her guns against the liberal agenda and fight hard but she's got to get in.

I no longer believe she will run :(

Eleven days before Michigan’s candidate registration deadline.”

Haven’t heard that before. I thought Utah was the first, on the 15th, then the others starting in at the end of the month?

If she gets in, the news cycle will explode.

We’ll never hear another word about Fast and Furious.

If Gov. Palin is such a great fighter she wouldn’t have quit without finishing her term as Governor. she is the Republican nominee, I will fight tooth and nail to get her elected. I won’t vote for her if she gets in the primaries, but if

thank god, only 11 more days of this silliness.

In or out, I don't care just let us know so we can focus on the race without wishing someone else might jump in.

Our first priority after that should be to destroy Romney, and once that is done, the rest can battle to the death to see which conservative deserves to be the standard bearer.

The only counter to that would be if she turned it around and focused on these scandals like the others have been afraid to.

So the writer is upset that Sarah doesn’t tell him or the MSM personally her plans and intentions are? Ah!

So everybody from MSM to some at FR just automatically assumes she’s not running because she won’t lay out her stragetgy. She just said the other day that she keeps her cards close to the vest and in August she said that she’s been outspent 3 to 1, 10 to 1 and never leading in the polls in her career but end up winning elections anyway. So obviously she has a plan and with the hard deadline filings coming up we shall soon know. I don’t underestimate her and most who do underestimate Sarah Palin usually looks foolish afterwards

-- I thought Utah was the first, on the 15th, then the others starting in at the end of the month? --

The Utah 15th deadline is for candidates who are NOT within a political party that has qualified for ballot access in Utah. Qualified political parties have a later deadline.

I don't believe the MI deadline is in October, but so far all I've found is a summary of the MI law.

The election law requires that the secretary of state issue a list of the individuals identified by the national news media to be potential presidential candidates for each political party's nomination. (This is to be done by 4 p.m. of the second Friday in November of the year before the presidential election -- which will be November 11, 2011, Veterans Day.) Senate Bill 584 would amend the law to require that list be made available to the public on an internet website maintained by the Department of State.

Then, not later than 4 p.m. of the following Tuesday, the state chairs of each political party for which a presidential primary election will be held must file with the secretary of state a list of individuals that he or she considers to be potential presidential candidates. Senate Bill 584 would require that the secretary of state also make these lists available to the public the internet website.

Well...within reason....the GOP does have to have a nominee.

Rush says that Elmer Fudd could beat obama. I tend to agree. But I don’t think that means that we should nominate Elmer Fudd to tempt fate here!

These are treacherous times. obama poses a grave danger to America. He has to be beaten. The field as it is at the moment definitely has me nervous, to say the least. And I do think that the field is set.....so here we are.

I like Sarah Palin, as she made my vote for John McCain palatable. But I am among the Conservative voters who has grown tired of being played. Sarah Palin has a big role to play in the media as a movement leader and opinion shaper. But I don’t believe she’s running, and I have moved on.
