Posted on 10/05/2011 3:17:46 PM PDT by TheBigB
Take it for what you will...posted on Mark's page just now: BREAKING: GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN TELLS MARK LEVIN SHE IS NOT RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT IN 2012.
Far too many people here put Palin up on a pedestal and thought she could walk on water and do no wrong.
- - - - -
Exactly. And when someone pointed it out to them, they were attacked, labeled stupid and a PDser, and their Christianity questioned.
One of my favs: "I'm so disappointed and I don't know why". May I recommend a trip to Wall Street?
The many comments about how "America is OVER!" (because Palin is not running). Seriously? She is the ONLY hope for America?
Other LOLz came from comments like: "we bought her books, and, and, supported her n' stuff! She OWES us!" Send her an invoice.
"Her making this announcement without a pre-announcement VIOLATES TRADITION! and I'm real mad about that. Oh my gosh, I did an internet search and you are right! This is worse that not having Turkey on Thanksgiving!
She... she... *snif* said she cares about America! *snerf* and THEN she does THIS?!? BWWWWAAAHHH-HA-HA! (pool forms)
I recall a discussion a while back where a RATIONAL Palin supporter recommended I read more about her background. I don't recall who that Freeper was, but I owe the person a debt. I did my homework, and was pleasantly surprised to find her record of experience and accomplishment is very good.
But now we know - Palin is out. No one needs to take time again to write about how smart and shrewd she is for waiting until now to announce! And if we want to see an actual conservative receive the nomination it is a good idea to support one. For those who complain that Cain doesn't have enough experience go read about him, because you obviously haven't.
For those who complain that he does not have government experience I reply - Thank God!
You don't like Cain? Fine. Pick someone and support 'em. But please stop acting like the FR equivalent of what DU posters will be doing on November 7th of 2012.
(...and let the flames begin...)
“I have been forsaken, now I must foresake!”
That was the 2nd reading at Mass this past Sunday.
And if we are to believe that God has an interest in America, and possibly Sarah Palin in its future, let’s remember this:
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts: nor your ways my ways, saith the Lord.”
This apparent setback for America, may be the groundwork for a greater, fuller victory in the future.
Sarah Palin still has my ear.
Is it any different than someone like Rush not running for president? If their gifts from God are better used outside of the Beltway, wouldn’t we want that, too?
Yes, I’m sure the fact that a few FReepers had the audacity to point out Perry’s crony capitalist record is really responsible for his dismal debate performances and the fact that he stepped in it by call the base heartless. Keep spewing crap.
You are as wrong as wrong can be.
Palin will wield incredible power in the upcoming election. More so on the outside than on the inside. The world now waits on her endorsement.
There are other conservatives who are running, and who can win. It doesn’t need to be Mitt.
I for one am doing all I can to make sure Mittens doesn’t become the nominee.
Ha! I’m not the one screaming via keyboard honey. Poor yourself a stiff one.
Perfect verse! Thanks!! :o)
Trusting God to use those as He will to guide our country back from the brink. And that includes Sarah.
A footnote in history.
I see absolutely no legitimate reason why Michelle Bachmann should not be considered as one of the top Republican candidates.
A damn shame.
1. game off.
2. i guess she’s eluctable after all
3. something about Sun Tzu
4. Is she still living in their heads rent free 24/7 driving them crazy while she does it her way, or are they chrarging her rent while she does not drive them crazy and does not do it her way?
She just became Sarah who?
Obama and the Dems will wish that were true. She is going to be on them like white on rice.
Related to Lord Calvert? Get a discount?
I’m drowning my sorrows tonight, but weaning some calves to sell, and could become a HeMan Cain supporter tomorrow.
“Far too many people ...thought she could ...do no wrong.”
So how is taking the right decision doing wrong?
Note the reading material.
I am glad you mentioned crow. You remember this classic?
Where are the "Palin isn't running" Brigade( FR post August 20, 2011)
You see any of those naysayers around anyplace ?
Sorely disappointed in Mrs. Palin. I would have thought for certain that she of all people would put country first. She did not.
Obviously she has her reasons and I’m not privy to them but we needed her and she will not be there.
With all due respect to you and your Texas sensibilities, I’m now a Cain man.
I’m sure as hell never voting for someone who can’t comprehend that I am not personally to blame for not having enough money or for losing my job. Why even bother to run against Obama ? Has he now given up on the argument that government is to blame if everyone is responsible for making their own economy ? What a load of bull.
So one thing is still unsettled. If Palin made the decision to bow out, who is the “mystery candidate” that hired a firm to check out information about filing deadlines for the early state primaries?
I feel your pain.
This is the worst possible news for our Republic and country’s future, and yet it will be overshadowed now by the death of a hippy libtard tech company ceo.
Of course he can win! Besides who are you to tell others who to support?
There are things I like about Bachmann, but she has zero leadership ability. We do not need a president that has to be led by the hand, and Bachmann and Cain fall into that category; there would be a shadow president steering them.
My guess is that both Palin and Christie do not want any part of leading a failed nation, and the cascading sovereign default crisis will crush us in the next few months. Our total tax intake cannot even cover the bond debt service, in fact, the total income of all of our citizens cannot cover it.
She’s rock solid and has held firm on her positions. Firm on taxation, cutting spending, elimination of the department of education etc. Imperfect yes, but there’s not a single candidate in the race who is.
I think she and Cain would make great team.
I no longer care, ( including who the GOP nominee is). BO gets another 4 years. I’ll miss the good old days when I had a country.
You're probably right. Don't forget, she is a party member.....and as such, it is best to not get involved in primaries and get behind the nominee.
Palin is just being a loyal Republican.
I’ve been reminded of that very thing many times over the years. Getting humbled gets kinda old! You’d think I’d learn not to run my head.
I still respect SP’s decision; she has a Down’s child, etc.
She could have been the first American woman President.
The very fact that Todd and Sarah made prayer THE fundamental fulcrum on which their decision was made, means that it unquestionably was, and will be the right course for them.
I have absolutely no doubt about that.
Let us hope (and pray), that it is also the best decision for our magnificent country.
Fine, then dont vote. We dont want emotion based voters anyway.
today sucks! Palin is out and Steve Jobs has passed away... not a happy camper.
Amen and pass the plate!!!
He’s a deranged Perry fan....lol
Herman Cain is a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN
Herman Cain Bio:
■Bachelors degree in Mathematics. ■Masters degree in Computer Science. ■Mathematician for the Navy, where he worked on missile ballistics (making him a rocket scientist). ■Computer systems analyst for Coca-Cola. ■VP of Corporate Data Systems and Services for Pillsbury.
All achieved before reaching the age of 35.
Since he reached the top of the information systems world, he changed careers!
■Business Manager. Took charge of Pillsburys 400 Burger King restaurants in the Philadelphia area, which were the companys poorest performers in the country. Spent the first nine months learning the business from the ground up, cooking hamburger and yes, cleaning toilets. After three years he had turned them into the companys best performers. ■Godfathers Pizza CEO. Was asked by Pillsbury to take charge of their Godfathers Pizza chain (which was on the verge of bankruptcy). He made it profitable in 14 months. ■In 1988 he led a buyout of the Godfathers Pizza chain from Pillsbury. He was now the owner of a restaurant chain. ■He was also chairman of the National Restaurant Association during this time. ■Adviser to the Federal Reserve System. ■Chairman of the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank. ■Writer and public speaker. ■Radio Host.
■Honorary Doctorate, Morehouse College, 1988 ■Top 25 Black Executives, Black Enterprise, 1988 ■Honorary Doctorate, Tougaloo College, 1989 ■Honorary Doctorate, University of Nebraska, 1990 ■Entrepreneur of the Year, 1990 ■Operator of the Year/Gold Plate Award ■International Foodservice Manufacturers Association, 1991 ■Honorary Doctorates, Johnson and Wales University and New York City Technical College ■Recipient of humanitarian awards, businessman of the year awards, special recognition awards, and excellence in leadership awards.
The position as Adviser to the Federal Reserve System allowed Herman Cain to see how monetary policy is made from the inside, and understand the political forces that impact the monetary system.
■After reaching the top of the banking industry, Herman Cain changed careers for a fourth time.
■Writer and public speaker. He then started to write and speak on leadership. His books include, Speak as a Leader, CEO of Self, Leadership is Common Sense, and They Think Youre Stupid.
■ Radio Host. Around 2007after a remarkable 40 year careerhe started hosting a radio show on WSB in Atlanta (the largest talk radio station in the country).
■ He did all this starting from rock bottom (his father was a chauffeur and his mother was a maid).
■ When you add up his accomplishments in his life including reaching the top of three unrelated industries: information systems, business management, and banking Herman Cain may have the most impressive resume of anyone that has run for the presidency in the last half century.
Can I go out on a limb again and say HeMan Cain?
Totally agree. I thought 2007-08 was bad. That was nothing compared to the infighting I am seeing now.
I was hoping Palin would run. I still intend to cast my vote for her.
I have a better idea. Why don’t you vote for Obama. It would be more efficient.
nah, she can have great effect in 2012...on the other hand you’re a never was.
Agreed. The only thing I can think of is the powerful banksters of the world threatened the lives of her and her children if she did run.
I’ve ripped off the Palin 2012 bumper stickers and removed my Palin 2012 email signature. So saddened now, as I realize that without a Palin presidency, this country is going down sooner rather than later.
I will NEVER vote for Romney, another McCain scum-sucking creature. I don’t like Cain’s 999 plan because I don’t want to give the Federal Govt any new tax revenue via a new national sales tax. As another poster recently said, this year it’s 999, next year 10 10 10, then 11 11 11, etc.
Nope, can’t vote for 999/Cain. Maybe it’s just best to let this profoundly corrupt system go down, and rebuild from the ashes. Might as well vote for Ron Paul. At least I know he is honest, wants small gov’t, low taxes, and really would CUT CUT CUT all those unconstitutional US Departmental agencies. Yes, bring the troops home. We’re going to need them as we watch America go.
God bless ya’ll.
>> “What you said. Lets begin dealing with reality folks.” <<
Its not a reality that can be dealt with. We have no leader willing to lead us; all we have is midget brains, crooks, and dreamers. Not one of the candidates is capable of leading us anywhere but down.
I know how you feel, I am having a WTF moment myself, and I like you will have a hard time taking anything Sarah says seriously again. She said that if no one that represented her views (tea party views) was running she would run. Well there is nobody representing tea party views running, except maybe Cain and that is a BIG MAYBE. Sarah has jumped the shark big time, and sadly it will be the country that pays the price. I have never seen a politician willingly commit political suicide before, it ain't pretty.
Yep...and both know far more than we are privy to. CAn't help but have wondered many times why would Palin have said.."if we're going to go down we're going to go down fighting" when she was in NEngland for the first viewing of her movie. It struck me hard then.. that she knows how bad things really are. And even today I just can imagine the Gop letting Obama take the hit when it all falls down....becuase the Democrates plan could come in in the nexxt election and smelll like a Rose
I am very depressed .. don’t touch me .. don’t talk to me..
Now look for the PDS nuts to become CDS nuts—heck it's already started.
ALL FREEPERS TAKE NOTE!!!!
I am sorry that Palin did not jump in, but we have TWO enemies right now.
First, we have to defeat Romney!
Second, we have to defeat Obama!
Pour your energy into those two acts of conservatism!!!!
