Who the hell said I wanted Romney?

Jeez some of you people really should read the whole thread before commenting.

The fact is, there is a possibility he gets nominated, even with our opposition. If that were to happen I will gladly accept Romney over the big 0.

But I think Bachman makes a great point. THIS year of all years, we don’t need to settle. Any decent candidate will beat him.

Its really that easy.

It would be a tragedy of shakespearean proportions if we shot each other before the election.

Yes, people get out of line on political threads especially during primary season. The stuff of Palin supporters was in a league of its own. It became a cult of personality where any mention of not liking something about Gov. Palin was grounds for treating a fellow FReeper like human waste. I have never, ever seen anything like it from the supporters of any other candidate. They made the heated discussions that happen on the Religion Forum look like a walk in the park.

Sarah Palin Explains Her Decision Not to Run For President

Sarah Palin joined Greta Van Susteren tonight to explain her decision to not run for President of the United States. The conservative governor told Greta, “I can be more effective in a decisive role to get others elected” including a Republican President, Republican Senators and Republican members of the US House of Representatives.

I am not giving up at all on Perry. It is way too early despite what the polls are saying. The first vote in the primaries would be cast over three months from now. Remember that everyone announced the death of the McCain campaign in the fall of 2007 and all the way until few days before the first vote was cast in Iowa. Then McCain came back strong and won it all.

I wholeheartedly disagree that Cain can’t win either the nomination or the generals and those that think otherwise are, quite frankly, delusional. Cain is running at full steam in the primaries...beating Romney in most states and crushing Perry. He just had a poll that had him up on likely primary voters by 2 over Romney. Perry is toast. Cain has momentum and he is getting more money. He will defeat Obama easily IMHO for a multitude of reasons. Before we jump off the cliff, folks, relax...WE WILL BEAT OBAMA with a CAIN but ONLY if Conservatives mobilize for him.

I understand your sentiments, but its no longer a lesser of two evils situation.

Think of the election this way - your house is infested with vermin scum, and you have an opportunity to fumigate your house.

Its not necessary to like the exterminator.

We've GOT to get the POS out of the White House.

I don't think people realize just how disastrous 4 more years of Obama will be ....people will be begging for the god 'ol days of his first term

it sickens me that people do not understand politics !!!

voting emotionally is absolutely foolish

there will be no conservative candidate until the Republican party is transformed.

According to Palin (in the Levin interview) That was the point of her not running . She wants to work from the bottom up to oust the rats that infest the republican party. !!!!!!

For someone who pi22es and moans about all the abuse he’s suffered at the hands of those mean, stupid, fools who have a hard time recognizing his cleverness in spotting something as inconsequential as whether or not Sarah Palin will run for president, you seem to have a hard time grasping the obvious.

If the content you refer to, and of which you seem to be quite proud, was meant to be read for content, then it would behoove the writer of said content to actually write something worthy of the word content. Unfortunately, it resembles something more akin to vilification, vitriol, pettiness, and middle school venting than anything resembling content.

When you finally post something of import, please let me know. I love to be proved wrong.

I am crushed, but I love Sarah and accept her decision, I do not have it in me to speak a unkind word towards her, like so many are right now. I could NEVER say anything against her!!!

I believe she was going to run but realized that the MSM/REP EST pollsters still rule the day. In spite of the internet and talk radio, the MSM/REP EST pollsters still rule the day.

The pollsters were going to say she had no support, and the masses would be fooled by it. It would be all lies, but that was their plan, it has been their plan

Just look at all the assclowns in the Conservative community that went from Bachmann to Trump, from Trump to Perry, from Perry to Cain, and all based on MSM polls.

Yes the MSM still rules the masses, and that`s what Sarah was up against.

We had a great guy here, one of Sarah`s biggest supporters, yet he was convinced that there was science to be found if you could only look inside these MSM/REP EST polls for trends???

MSM pollsters in 2011 are still in control. And while Sarah coined the phrase “polls are for strippers” etc, she knew I think that they still control opinion, and just were not going to allow her to get any traction.

Yes polls rule the Conservatives masses, this is undeniable.

Did it ever occur to you those who supported Palin wouldn’t support Perry anyway? If you read the conversation here you’ll see most are supporting Cain. He’s most like Palin in his philosophy, conservatism & outsider status but with boatloads of executive experience. And do you honestly think a few posters on FR are responsible for his drop in the polls? Perry fell because of his horrid debate performance, his stumbling all over his words, and having policies people don’t like. I don’t like being called heartless because I have a different opinion on illegal aliens. And I don’t like that he broke a promise to his state and has never given an explanation why. Maybe you’re a little too obsessed with Perry. Considering how horrid he’s been in all three debates I’d be worried about him debating 0bama. No candidate has lost anything by people waiting for Palin. There hasn’t been one vote yet and it would be no different than if we’d supported someone who dropped (or will be dropping out). If you think about it, those supporting some candidates right now will be supporting them longer than the people who waited for Palin.

If Romney gets in say goodbye to a real Republican ever getting into office again.

I feel like we are left with a bunch of second rate has been’s to choose from. I have no idea who among the rest can handle the gargantuan task of pulling this country back together after Obama and his thugs are gone. I fear for this nation and the next 5 years. I hope we make it. The only thing with which I can compare the pain that I feel is when my ex had my son who was still born. ~ I need sleep.

Romney can be pressured by the right, especially re Supreme Court nominees and right to life issues. With Obama, there is no chance, and he has shown the awful judges he will pick.

“...something even bigger than her family.”

You were more gracious to me than some other PalinFRistas (who shall remain unnamed), for suggesting I thought she would decline to run. To be honest, my gut told me in November 2008 that she wouldn’t run in ‘12. That was my conclusion based on nothing but maternal instinct.

So, I DO buy that her decision was based on family. SP has three children still at home, the youngest of whom is only 3 years old and a Downs Syndrome child. He’s no longer the 4-6 month old infant of the ‘08 campaign. His needs are so much ore now,

There is no way any person, however gifted, can be POTUS, a 24/7/365 job, AND satisfactorily mother that family, especially Trig.

I’m delighted for her, personally, that she came to that conclusion. She’s still very young, will be very active, can speak out without interference of handlers or concern about how her every word would be perceived around the world. (and, yes, a POTUS does have to worry about that).

Having provided her public service for conservative causes and candidates, she can return to Wasilla to be with her family in their natural environment.

If she wants to run in 12 years, she’ll be far more seasoned than today and not torn between two conflicting sets of obligations. She got her priorities absolutely right IMO.

That kind of attitude is not going to win.

Romney has way too much baggage to win, even against Zero and many of us will not vote for Romney.

The MSM want’s Romney because they have a whole lot of stuff to throw at him (like racism and flip flopping) and it will ensure a Obama re-election.

Why not get on board and help us elect a conservative??

If all she wanted was to make money (and be in the limelight) why didn’t she take the $10million offered by TLC to do another season of SP’s Alaska? When you can answer that then you can say she’s all about money. She helped get a lot of conservatives elected in the midterms. Even you should be able to appreciate that.
