Cannot get excited about Gingrich or Santorum.

Well, as I see it, that’s a vote for obammy...........

There’s a local radio station in Austin Texas—very conservative. They refer to Perry as “Pointy Boots”......IOW, the urban Cowboy.

Do you or anyone seriously think that Bachmann or Cain have a chance of beating Romney and Obama? This is not a "beauty contest" (as in who is "the most conservative that we like"), the fate of the nation is at stake.

You've got that right. There are 127 posts, but none offer any evidence or analysis that demonstrates the candidate they like can win.

Defeating Obama is serious business. It isn't any gimme, where any candidate the GOP puts up will prevail. FR beauty contests aren't going to select the most effective candidate. It is more likely to select a losing candidate.

Perry's instincts are COMPASSIONATE. Whatever his views and positions are they would be disastrously modified by his "compassion" in office. Perry also never has said anything to indicate that he understands Economics. Palin and Cain and Trump are the only ones running or who had been considering running that have said things that show they know how money works and why people choose. That leaves Cain as the only one I can positively support. I would vote, in the end, for anybody but Romney.

If the election comes down to Romney vs. Obama and were I to choose the Lesser of Two Evils I would have to vote for the kenyan but I could not possibly vote for him for anything that doesn't establish him behind bars somewhere so I will not vote the top of such a ticket.

You have my deepest prayers. You are a strong person from reading your post. I, also, hope you are able to complete the time necessary to do what you wish before you are in His arms. Bless you, Coldwater Creek, now and for ever after.

You don’t think Cain blundered by forcing people to blame themselves for not being rich or not having a job ? IMO he’s absolutely done.

And most of Ricardo’s dough probably came from the pro-illegals interests, LaRaza, CASA, the US slave labor industries, etc. Who else would give him that kinda money?

Well, we know it wasn't from the trial lawyers since Perry managed to get Tort Reform passed and then Loser Pays. We also know it wasn't from the unions since Texas is a Right to Work state and Perry touts that all over the place.

I seriously doubt it was "illegals" etc. because Perry is VERY strong on securing the border despite what the flaming libs say.

I’ll jump on the Cain train, but he’s going to need someone like Newt or Santorum on the ticket to give him “credibility” only in the sense that they will say Cain has no experience in dealing with Congress. Santorum on the ticket may help win PA too, which the GOP needs (along with FL) to grab the electoral college. Though I’ve mentioned Santorum a few times I am not endorsing him I just recognize he lends a number of things to a winning ticket. He may not be the right guy at all in the grand scheme I don’t know enough about him except that he knows DC and he can carry PA.

Sarah was our only chance. Cain played the race card against Perry and supported TARP

How soon you forget. Sarah Palin supported TARP. She also supported a "path to citizenship" for illegal aliens.

Right. And the one who can win (according to the smartest GOP analists (not a misspelling)) all pick Romney as the only one who can defeat Obama. No thank you ma’am. I’ll go third party thankyouverymuch. Pray the TEA party goes real.

Don’t make me mad now.... but rubio on ANY ticket will automatically count him out of anything I will vote for. Rubio is not a Natural Born Citizen any more than Obama is, for the same reasons. He parents were immigrants when he was born, as a Dual citizen, not naturally a citizen of the United States because he was born to two parents who were citizens, and born on our soil - by virtue he is also of another - that of his parents.

I will NOT vote for a Dual Citizen for the Office of POTUS or Veep, which has the SAME requirements. Not after 3 years of discussing what a Natural Born Citizen is.

Yea, that is called holding to principle - for those who would flame my opinion. I have stated for a LONG time that Obama wasn’t an NBC because he was born British as well. Now that it is an otherwise LOVELY conervative with a lot of appeal, am I to drop my principles because it is CONVENIENT to do so? No, I am not hypocrite, I can’t support Rubio for the office of POTUS or Veep.

Don’t EVEN promote Rubio. He will destroy this party if he does get nominated. He is a constitutionally ineligible candidate just as Obama is.

If Romney gets the nomination, get ready for the media’s all-out war on the Mormon church, including their past history on blacks. If Cain wins the nomination, there may not be any dirt on him but, if there is, you won’t hear about it until he’s got the nomination wrapped up, then any unfortunate incidents or comments will come out.

If Perry wins the nomination, the smear machines will have to truly be reaching because you already seen what they’ve attacked him with and it’s extremely weak. And, trust me, Democrats have lusted for the Texas Governors mansion for a long time so they would have brought out any relevant dirt a long time ago.

If Cain is entirely clean, he’d be an outstanding president, but what if he’s not? What dirt would the Democrats hold hoping never to use it because they don’t want to be called racist but will use it anyway if it gets to the general election? That’s what scares me about Cain. He’s never been vetted by the media and they won’t vet him until he’s already got the nomination.

Romney is the most conservative candidate in the race. He will win the nomination and go on to win the General Election.

President of the United States of America: Herman “the Hermanator” Cain

Vice President: Marco “Tea Party” Rubio

State: John Bolton

Treasury: Newt Gingrich - we need a smart guy to oversee the gutting of our ridiculous tax code and replacement with something that works

Defense: Duncan Hunter, Sr. - former Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee and tremendous patriot

Attorney General: Paul Clement - Smart conservative who knows the conservative bar and can recruit talent to displace the Left’s death grip on this department

Interior/Energy - Sarah Palin to lead the combined department

Education – Historian and educator David Barton to oversee the transfer of functions back to the states and elimination

Homeland Security – Allen West to supervise the securing of the border and enforcement of immigration laws

HHS – Michele Bachmann or Paul Ryan to oversee the unwinding of Obamacare
