OccupyWallStreet - Not
Myself | Oct 5, 2011 | Oceander

Posted on 10/05/2011 8:42:05 PM PDT by Oceander

A little tourists' cornucopia from the big, bad OccupyWallStreet thingey. I took the images below on my way to work this morning - discarded most of 'em cause they were just too pathetic - and thought I'd share them. My absolute fave is that earnest-looking upper middle class white kid in the bottom 4 pix (my "vignettes") - especially the last one, where he's so neatly folding his Buzz Lightyear towel - probably still smells like the Downy fabric softener mommie used when she washed it for him.

Please feel free to borrow as you wish, and to editorialize as you wish - but only so long as you isolate, polarize, and ridicule.

Lastly, just a warning - these pics are the small(er) versions of my originals. If you click on one, it will open up a larger version in a new window. Be forewarned, however: the larger files are about 1.1MB to 1.4MB in size.

This is the funniest stuff! I just tweeted your great video to FoxNews...I don’t know if they can use it with only your FReeper name given as a source, but I did what I could! LOL!

Here's the next update - pix hot off the digital presses from this morning. I'm also setting up a ping list to ping folks who've already posted on this thread.

If you want off the list, please sent me a FReepmail and I'll remove you immediately.

With that out of the way, on to the main attraction.
I know that it's considered best to let the pictures speak for themselves, but after wandering around on the deck of this ship of fools, I cannot help but add some explicit editorial comment; after all, without the express commentary, the ludicrous nature of their activities would probably go right over their heads.

First, the sum and substance of it all; the one real reason why middle-class college students like to play at being working-class and going on protests:

OccupyWallStreet - Dude! I scored!

Next, the curious. I'm not good at recognizing stars on the street, but I have to say that this chap reminds me of nothing so much as of Al Pacino from the movie "Devil's Advocate." I don't know if that's who it is, but certainly the Devil has no shortage of advocates at this affair!

OccupyWallStreet - Devil's Advocate

Then there's the cute, the mildly amusing, the "mispeling," and the chess. I found it to be just another in a long list of damning examples of the parlous state of the American educational system that the spelling skills of today's college graduates are not "approprate" to their status in life. Maybe this is a small, but telling, reason for why so many of these chumps can't find their dream jobs - they cannot spell anything harder than one-syllable words. Perhaps it's too difficult for them to sound out multi-syllable words?

OccupyWallStreet - Mispeling

Funny how these folks can't spell, can't think logically, and cannot find Wall Street, even though they're three blocks away from it, but they still fancy themselves intellectuals, playing chess in the park. How quaint.

OccupyWallStreet - Ersatz intellectuals

Now on to the bizarre and the truly clueless; I think these pix speak for themselves:

OccupyWallStreet - Sooie! OccupyWallStreet - Trick or Treat!

This one is just too rich with irony and incongruity:

OccupyWallStreet - Law school, no common sense required (or desired)

Finally, there's my A #1 favorite subject: OccupyWallStreet's love affair with McDonalds.

OccupyWallStreet - Look at me Mommy; I'm all growed up now!

OccupyWallStreet - Anti-capitalists love McDonalds   OccupyWallStreet - After the Revolution, all the 'troops of tomorrow' will dine on McDonalds

That last one really cracked me up. The guy's sitting there with a scarf/bandana around his face, up to his eyes, like he's some big bad revolutionary who's going to be grabbed off the streets by paramilitary forces, tortured into imbecility, and then dumped into the wastelands of NJ, next to the likes of innumberable mobsters (and maybe even Hoffa!?!). To complete the ensemble, he's painted the slogan "TROOPS OF TOMORROW" on the sleeve of his leather jacket.

Apparently, when the Revolution comes, McDonalds will be spared so the "troops of tomorrow" can continue to enjoy the fare and mooch the wi-fi.

"Where's the student loan bailout?"

Here's a novel concept...PAY YOUR BILLS! If you can't face reality; how about a swan dive off of some building...there are PLENTY right in the neighborhood.

So they’re complaining about their student loans.
HUH was they forced to go to college, was they forced to sign for the loans?

No course not.
10,000 Lawyers unemployed , now where the hell did they get that figure from besides we have too many already.

They can’t spell, most have no clue why they don’t have jobs, well look for one you clowns and go to the white house to protest as it is the person who they voted for is making this economy worse.

Some rich students are there for what?
MOM and DAD gave them a nice house, paid for their upbringing and it was the system they protest which let MOM and DAD get that money for them .

UAW workers protesting, why?
It was them taking out money which bailed them out to keep their jobs so why would they protest.

Unions protesting , Why?
Their jobs give them 401k’s which correct if I am wrong but that means they need the market and wall street.
So in essence they are protesting their 401k’s ???????????

FRIGGING IDIOTS

Thanks for the update. Keep me on your Ping list, please. Thanks for the analysis with pictures to back up your statements.

I liked the sign of the 200,000 dollar debt that one student had racked up. That should give him a goal in life: Pay your expenses, taxes, and maybe you will retire at age 65 dead broke. But you will have paid off your student loan !

Hello campers! Yesterday morning, bright and early, I went down to the OWS "encampment" again to see what the monkeys looked like before they'd put on their party hats.

I did manage to find a few gems, and have now confirmed beyond any doubt that the one thing almost every OccupyWallStreet gang-member has in common is an inordinate love for McDonalds. What I find particularly puzzling about this - putting aside the fact that McDonalds is exactly the sort of "evil" multinational corporation they love to rant and rave about - is that there are plenty of local, hole-in-the-wall, non-corporate - heck, organic and vegan even! - places around that end of Manhattan that they could be frequenting, and yet, here they all are, swilling McDonalds coffee, noshing on "unhealthy" fast-food (sorry McD's but that's how these types all mischaracterize your fine fare) and just in general giving lots and lots of money to one of the self-same corporations they claim to hate and point to as the source of all contagion in their ideological Eden.

So here's the first update (albeit the 3d video clip I took), of McD's. Now, I have to point out that I felt obliged to carry the vid-cam as if it were turned off - so as not to spook the wildlife (gotta be careful when you're on safari) - so the camera-work is not AAA+; however, I did get a wonderful shot of Mr. Troops (pic down below) and two fellow occupancy-monkeys yucking it up in what seems to have become defacto party HQ in McDonalds (I wonder if they got permanent reservations on that table?):

OccupyWallStreet Luvs McDonalds

Just to refresh everyone's memory, here's Mr. Troops (more to come about this little S&M pansy):

He's over there on the left-hand side of the video, trying to hide in the shadows of his less drama-queen companions.

So, here's what else (for now) I have to say about Mr. Troops (the poseur with the words "TROOPS OF TOMORROW" painted on his expensive, new, leather jacket):

I want to juxtapose two images for you, Mr. Troops and Saul Alinsky:

The first pic is, obviously, our favorite little poseur, Mr. Troops. The second is - in case you don't recognize him (not a lot of people do) - Saul Alinsky, godfather to the sort of movement that Mr. Troops fantasizes he is in the vanguard of. Alinsky was a real subversive who caused a lot of damage to the US.

Can anyone spot the cardinal difference between the two? That's correct; the real subversive blends in, is inconspicuous, draws no attention to himself - that is how a real subversive works, and that is how a real subversive causes damage. A real subversive does not prance around in public like a silly S&M pansy wearing a studded leather jacket and a scarf around his face. Saul Alinsky was a real subversive, and dangerous thereby; Mr. Troops is a parody, a farce, and will never be dangerous to anything or anyone other than, perhaps, himself.

Troops of Tomorrow: May the Farce be with You!

Now, first I'd like to thank you all for being so patient with me and my little Cook's Tour version of the OccupyWallStreet farce. Second, I'd like to share the other two vid-clips that I took on Saturday morning. These are both of the "encampment" itself, early in the morning before the protest-monkeys put their party hats on. I'm not going to add too much additional commentary here, as I hope that the voice-over commentary in the videos themselves will suffice.

Here's part 1:

OccupyWallStreet - Protest Monkeys for Hire

and here's part 2:

OccupyWallStreet - Protest Monkeys for Hire

Enjoy and, as Mr. Troops would say, "Let the Farce be With You!"

Are you sure this is a protest? I’m still not convinced this isn’t the line for Rage Against the Machine tickets.

You might be correct! Someone said "Days of Rage" and they all thought it meant that there would be days of Rage Against the Machine concerts.

WE ARE THE 99%

“Welcome to OCCUPY TOGETHER, an unofficial hub for all of the events springing up across the country in solidarity with Occupy Wall St. As we have followed the news on facebook, twitter, and the various live feeds across the internet, we felt compelled to build a site that would help spread the word as more protests organize across the world. We hope to provide people with information about events that are organizing, ongoing, and building across the U.S. as we, the 99%, take action against the greed and corruption of the 1%.

We will only grow stronger in our solidarity and we will be heard, not just in New York, but in echoes across the world.

For more information about us, the movement, and answers to questions, please check out our FAQ.

Important note: Occupy Together will never ask for any monetary donations. We suggest that, if you want to donate monetarily, that you visit this site to help those who currently Occupy Wall St."
