Occupy Wall Street Has $40K In The Bank And "The $ Is Going To Start Rolling In Now"
Business Insider ^ | October 6, 2011 | Courtney Comstock

As you've surely noticed, the Occupy Wall Street Protestors have taken things to another level in the past couple of days.

Hundreds have been arrested. They have the power of unions behind them now, which has drawn thousands to protest with them and gotten the attention of big media outlets. And there are two separate movements growing within the protestors.

The youth behind the original movement are organized into factions or committees, including legal, medical, and finance, and they are pulling away from association with the union protest movement now. The people behind the original movement recognize that their strength is in their youth, and we found little evidence to confirm reports that they're not organized.

They now have $40,000 in the bank, in an account at Amalgamated Bank.

"At first, Victoria [Sobel, one of the movement's unofficial leaders] was sleeping with $10,000 in the park," says Darrell Prince, who works on the finance team. He and others on the team wear a gold "$" sign as an elbow patch to identify themselves.

"We've collected $40,000 from donations and buckets on the street," Prince says, and "the money is really going to start rolling in now."

So far, the money has come primarily from three buckets on the street...

Good. If they have money in an identifiable account, maybe the NYPD can send them a bill for the cost of incarcerating the little miscreants.

It is a union-owned bank. Actually a very smart strategy for a union: you can charge higher fees because of the cachet to leftists of depositing with a leftist bank, and you can use a bank to launder all kinds of typical union nonsense: dipping into pension funds, making campaign donations, slush funds for union officers, etc.

A couple cold rainy fall days ought to bring this to a close.

Thanks for the info about the bank ownership.

I hope every business entity which is attacked, harassed, and vandalized by these low-lifes sees this info so judgments can be issued against the bank account for restitution.

Thanks so much for that info. I’ve been trying to figure out why a bank would aid the morons that are protesting against them. Finally makes sense!

Protests in New York and across the country are modeled on the Islamic Spring (Egypt, Tunisia, Syria, etc). Our US Government has said nor done anything to thwart this domestic subversion. The veil is lifting on America’s confrontation with Marxism.

Obama and Soros are one purposeful team from the very beginning and especially now. American society under Obama’s Presidency has suffered many near critical blows pushing us to the brink. All the while his uber-liberal wing impatiently waited for the pay off.

ALL these protests have been orchestrated as Part Two of America’s destructive change to a Marxist society. Obama controls America’s security, intelligence and enforcement resources. Their traditional roles have been reversed to pacifists, enabling the anarchists.

Obama’s mask is coming off. It is getting more ugly, deadly and cruel by the momemt as we slowly slide into civil war.

There has to be somebody in a position of power in New York allowing this to happen. New York PD is famous for arresting demonstrators for simply not having gotten the correct permits. The fact that this group wasn’t all hauled off on day one demonstrate that this is being allowed to happen.

What can Obama say? He can’t associate himself with the OWS platform, which is radical and stupid beyond belief, but he also doesn’t want to turn this movement political in an elctoral sense and against him. Best to let them be out there and making his Administration look moderate by comparison, without running the risk of a third party challenge on his left.

I need $40,000. They’re just plain greedy. I think it’s only right that I go seize that money.

Don't these people hate banks?

In other news, the Boston Fox affiliate reported today that the group protesting in Boston doesn't have a permit. Nevertheless, they're not being bothered and I heard the police have been routing traffic around them!

Boston's mayor Menino was on TV and isn't concerned about the lack of permit.

“The fact that this group wasn’t all hauled off on day one demonstrate that this is being allowed to happen.”

Exactly. And they’re coming to my town this Friday and I’ll bet you a doughnut that our local cops will let them do whatever they want...

I'm sure Bloomberg got wind when folks were applying for permits.

Why do we even have laws if they aren't enforced?

As far as I am concerned these crazies are just making me stick tighter to my conservative compass.

And I can't believe ALL UNION WORKERS are for this kind of nonsense. I'd be really upset if my dues were going to support a bunch of college educated hippies.....Maynard G. Krebs.....a/k/a Gilligan types that hear the word “WORK” and head for the nearest rally.

Well if it's like the Arab Spring. Then I would suggest they start having some demands.

These are sensible:

-Get rid of this Tyrant

-We need regime change

Communist goal number 19.

19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.
