Met him at a Dolphins game back in 2000 for a corporate event...he walked into our suite at Joe Robbie Stadium...the man was quite the presence when he walked in a room...commanded a ton of attention.

With that said...expect the Raiders to now win about 15 Super Bowls in the next 30 years. Same thing will likely happen when Jerry Jones goes.

RIP Al.

A couple years ago, I told my friend (sarcastically) that the only way the Raiders can win is if Al Davis dies. He said that Al Davis already died and he just forgot to lay down.

Rest in Peace AL.

I’m old. I feel older. I remember when the AFL began. Yep. Feeling old.

Sadder than that, losing someone who had what many so-called men of today sorely lack. Don’t think I even need to type the word.

GOOD points. He is definitely iconic, but some owners have ruined their teams and their teams will never be great until they are gone. Jones for sure and Snyder. Talk about a man who ruined a franchise ... Dan Snyder. He is concrete proof that rich doesn’t have anything to do with being smart.

Didn’t Dan Snyder make his money in marketing?

I figure he was a smart guy to make millions in the business world. But, he’s too arrogant as a football owner. Snyder was a life long Redskins fan before he bought the team, but, just because he was a fan didn’t mean he knows how to run the business end of an NFL franchise.
