“A Zogby opinion poll had just boosted Cain into first place in the race”
Being that I am a port-sider, concerning handedness not politics, I am observant when it comes to this trait in others. So, I noticed the other day that Herman Cain is left handed as well. Thereby, the odds of him becoming our next president has increased dramatically as four of our last five presidents have been left handed. Good news for sure!

I’ve never heard of Cain being a Baptist minister. He attends a Baptist church, but I don’t think he’s ever been a minister.

Cain is great on everything. The main fly in his ointment is the scrutiny he will get for his 9-9-9 plan.
I’ve already posted several threads on this and I see even CONSERVATIVES showing opposition and having serious questions and reservations.
If he can truly defend it and show that it works, he will truly deserve the presidency. If not, he will be shown to be a mere idealist not worthy of consideration.
Unfortunately, the 30 second sound byte debate isn’t going to do justice to his complicated tax plan. In fact, the attacks in the next debates are SURELY going to come his way instead of Perry’s.
He better be prepared.

Had this guy pegged way back in May. I had never used my hard earned money to go to a candidate before but did for him. It’s about time we run this country like a business. I think he’ll be the Repub candidate, I also said Obama would be the candidate back when Hillary was way ahead and took some heat for that!! :) I just thought that because I went into Books A Million and his books were everywhere and there were signs here in SW Mo for Obama in people’s yards. Was very odd.

If he doesn't win this year, we need to make sure this man is groomed to be president in the future. As it is, he will be a great Vice-President; more qualified than our current one, for sure, and he won't fit the “stupid” trope that the press gives Republican VPs.

I saw people last night saying at least we know what Rick Perry stands for but what does Herman Cain stand for and I have to laugh, we all have the internet, not too hard to figure out what he stands for, he has a website! :)
Folks need to do their homework before knocking him.

Whether for the primaries or for the national election, should he happen to win the nomination, Cain has the least political experience of anyone on the debates stages.
We already have one novice in the Oval Office, but even he has a couple of elective political jaunts.
Running a corporation is much different than being president of the Nation.
I just don’t have enough confidence that Cain can do the job to jump on his band wagon. He is too much of an unknown quantity, politically.

A Zogby opinion poll had just boosted Cain into first place in the race, with 38% of the vote, compared with 18% for former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney. Perry trailed in third place with 12%. The study even showed Cain beating President Barack Obama in a match-up by 46% to 44%.
That simply cannot be. I'm telling you that cannot be. Because there are too many FReeper brothers and sisters on here saying that Herman Cain is unelectable. The polls are wrong. (/s)

It will be interesting to see Mr Cain debate Jr.
Mr Cain should constantly say he would be glad to compare his records of accomplishment with Obama’s prior to Ibama becoming President but he can’t find any.
Maybe Mr Cain could read allowed a poem Obama wrote while in college:
UNDERGROUND by BO
Under water grottos, caverns
Filled with apes
That eat figs.
Stepping on the figs
That the apes
Eat, they crunch.
The apes howl, bare
Their fangs, dance,
Tumble in the
Rushing water,
Musty, wet pelts
Glistening in the blue.

Cain needs to explain the empowerment zones and why some will get preferential treatment over others in his 999 plans.
Also, this may explain why on the back of his book, This is Herman Cain, he writes, "What is it that motivates me to insist on defining my identity in terms of "ABC" - as being American first, black second, and Conservative third?".

TP: Mr. Cain, you recently came under fire for your comments about the kind of people you would appoint to your cabinet. Would you be opposed to appointing an openly gay but qualified person to be in your cabinet?
CAIN: Nope, not at all. I wouldnt have a problem with that at all. I just want people who are qualified, I want them to believe in the Constitution of the United States of America. So yep, I dont have a problem with appointing an openly gay person. Because theyre not going to try to put sharia law in our laws.
