Church officials say they have a position of strict neutrality on political matters and are not supporting Romney's candidacy.
Federal restrictions
Both the church and BYU, as tax-exempt, nonprofit organizations, are prohibited by federal law from advocating on behalf of a particular candidate or political party. -

Wanna bet that that same organization not only still exists, but has gained power that we now see in action in the media, (and on FR).
I suggest that everyone read the article as it names names.

Not defending Romney, but whatever. I’ll take wealthy mormon business leaders over Reverend Wright any day of the week, and twice on Sunday.
I am voting for Cain or Perry in the primary, but if Romney is the guy in the general election, count this Mississippi Methodist in his column.
Big deal. All this Mormon support and money didn’t help him one bit in ‘08. I don’t see how it will help this time. Milt is stuck at 25% in the polls. He is in trouble no matter how much the MSM props him up.
Your premise is BS.
Now we Mormons are like the Jews... Come on, get a life.
I think Wavy Gravy is still kicking around out there somewhere, but I'd hardly call him a leader.
My MIL has been seeing lots of recent commercials that show families and at the end, they say something to the effect of, “MY name is xxx and I am a Mormon”.
She doesn’t like it a bit. Even at 84, she knows propaganda when she sees it and knows that those are just for Romney’s sake. Tickled me when she said she talks back and says, “Oh yeah? Well I am a Baptist but you don’t see me rubbing your face in it.”
LOL...anti-semitic much?
Is the organization of US Mormons being used as foot soldiers named the “Danites”?
That’s FUNNY!
It is not clear what kind of conclusions can be drawn from this. Nonetheless, I doubt you will hear much about it from the mainstream press. But if Romney gets the nomination they will shout it from the rooftops. Continuously.
One more reason not to support Mitt.

One more reason Mitt cannot win.
I really don’t understand the anti-Mormonism in this country.
Despite some obvious but benign quirks, Mormons are generally kind, giving, family oriented, self-reliant, successful people.
We could do a LOT worse than a Mormon in the White House. In fact, we’re already doing a lot worse with our secular-at-best, Muslim-at-worst current president.
That is an interesting statement since the lds claim that the native Americans are descended from the tribes of Israel
And that upon mormon baptism become a true Israelite
As the Holy Ghost falls upon one of the literal seed of Abraham, it is calm and serene; and his whole soul and body are only exercised by the pure spirit of intelligence; while the effect of the Holy Ghost upon a Gentile, is to purge out the old blood, and make him actually of the seed of Abraham. That man that has none of the blood of Abraham (naturally) must have a new creation by the Holy Ghost ( Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 14950).
As to not be cast as a slight or a lie.. that quotation is from

Why People wonder why I think having a candidate that follows such a “out of main stream” world view is a POLITICAL liability I just can’t figure.
Don't know...but they all wear bright yellow T-Shirts that say "Mormon Helping Hands."
...when they show up at disasters, so that no one mistakes them for the Salvation Army.
So it could maybe be said that Romney is also a “community organizer”?
JUST WHAT WE NEED.... another one.
One who has a "victim card" all ready to play. We're seeing that right now.
Recently, I went to a Mormon event at what the Mormons call a "stake center". There were a lot of non-Mormons like myself. The star of the event was a choir and Gladys Knight. yea, that Gladys Knight. No Pips and the music was all religious. And very good!
I was struck by how the Mormons referred to the Bible and Jesus Christ. And how they can be a bit self-affacing about how they know they are looked at from the outside. Another thing that struck me was that if you looked around you could see every race and color. Very diverse. And the people all seemed to be so happy and content.
Since this happened a few days back I started to look around on the internet about the Mormons and Jesus Christ. I still have some questions about that. It appears that the Mormons may not see the same Jesus Christ that I heard about while being raised a Catholic. If we have any Mormons here that wish to comment on this I'd like to hear what you say about this.
definitely a cult...definitely not christian
“Mormonism is the pure doctrine of Jesus Christ; of which I myself am not ashamed.” Joseph Smith - Founder of Mormonism

You should have just stopped there........You don't understand. Period.
