Governor Mitt Romney's political team has quietly consulted with leaders of the Mormon Church to map out plans for a nationwide network of Mormon supporters to help Romney capture the presidency in 2008, according to interviews and written materials reflecting plans for the initiative.

-SNIP-

-
Church officials say they have a position of strict neutrality on political matters and are not supporting Romney's candidacy.

Federal restrictions

Both the church and BYU, as tax-exempt, nonprofit organizations, are prohibited by federal law from advocating on behalf of a particular candidate or political party. -

This is a long article that shows the links between the Romney campaign in '08 and leaders and prominent wealthy members of the mormon church, with the campaign building an organization of US mormons as foot soldiers for Romney and skirting US election laws in the process.

Wanna bet that that same organization not only still exists, but has gained power that we now see in action in the media, (and on FR).

I suggest that everyone read the article as it names names.

Not defending Romney, but whatever. I’ll take wealthy mormon business leaders over Reverend Wright any day of the week, and twice on Sunday.

I am voting for Cain or Perry in the primary, but if Romney is the guy in the general election, count this Mississippi Methodist in his column.

Big deal. All this Mormon support and money didn’t help him one bit in ‘08. I don’t see how it will help this time. Milt is stuck at 25% in the polls. He is in trouble no matter how much the MSM props him up.

So, at this late date, how many LSD leaders are even still around? Albert Hofmann, Owsley Stanley, Tim Leary, Aldous Huxley and Ken Kesey are all dead.

I think Wavy Gravy is still kicking around out there somewhere, but I'd hardly call him a leader.

My MIL has been seeing lots of recent commercials that show families and at the end, they say something to the effect of, “MY name is xxx and I am a Mormon”.

She doesn’t like it a bit. Even at 84, she knows propaganda when she sees it and knows that those are just for Romney’s sake. Tickled me when she said she talks back and says, “Oh yeah? Well I am a Baptist but you don’t see me rubbing your face in it.”

It is not clear what kind of conclusions can be drawn from this. Nonetheless, I doubt you will hear much about it from the mainstream press. But if Romney gets the nomination they will shout it from the rooftops. Continuously.

One more reason not to support Mitt.

I really don’t understand the anti-Mormonism in this country.

Despite some obvious but benign quirks, Mormons are generally kind, giving, family oriented, self-reliant, successful people.

We could do a LOT worse than a Mormon in the White House. In fact, we’re already doing a lot worse with our secular-at-best, Muslim-at-worst current president.

That is an interesting statement since the lds claim that the native Americans are descended from the tribes of Israel

And that upon mormon baptism become a true Israelite

“As the Holy Ghost falls upon one of the literal seed of Abraham, it is calm and serene; and his whole soul and body are only exercised by the pure spirit of intelligence; while the effect of the Holy Ghost upon a Gentile, is to purge out the old blood, and make him actually of the seed of Abraham. That man that has none of the blood of Abraham (naturally) must have a new creation by the Holy Ghost” ( Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 149–50).

As to not be cast as a slight or a lie.. that quotation is from

http://institute.lds.org/manuals/pearl-of-great-price-student-manual/pgp-3-a2-01.asp

Why People wonder why I think having a candidate that follows such a “out of main stream” world view is a POLITICAL liability I just can’t figure.

Note to self: Buy stock in companies that make white shirts, black ties and bicycle parts.

Recently, I went to a Mormon event at what the Mormons call a "stake center". There were a lot of non-Mormons like myself. The star of the event was a choir and Gladys Knight. yea, that Gladys Knight. No Pips and the music was all religious. And very good!

I was struck by how the Mormons referred to the Bible and Jesus Christ. And how they can be a bit self-affacing about how they know they are looked at from the outside. Another thing that struck me was that if you looked around you could see every race and color. Very diverse. And the people all seemed to be so happy and content.

Since this happened a few days back I started to look around on the internet about the Mormons and Jesus Christ. I still have some questions about that. It appears that the Mormons may not see the same Jesus Christ that I heard about while being raised a Catholic. If we have any Mormons here that wish to comment on this I'd like to hear what you say about this.

It is true that Mormon Beliefs are not exactly the same as Baptists or Catholics.

If they were, they would be Baptists or Catholic.

I use those as two examples because I have seen posted that Baptists also refer to Catholics as a “Cult”.

It is just a way for some to denigrate others.

I probably have, but there again there were wars fought between Roman Catholics and those from Constantinople over differences in beliefs.

It usually has nothing to do with actual beliefs, but rather who is going to be in charge.

That is still going on today with the liberals.

Speaking of bigotry...robbing Jews of their birthright by baptizing them in mormon temples is as bigoted as you can get.

http://www.jewishgen.org/InfoFiles/ldsagree.html

The wrongful baptism of Jewish dead, which disparages the memory of a deceased person is a brazen act which will obscure the historical record for future generations. It has been bitterly opposed by many Jews for a number of years. Others say they will never stop being Jews, simply because there is a paper saying they had been baptized, that the act of posthumous baptism is unimportant and should be ignored. We think this to be a narrow, parochial, and shallow view. We will continue opposing this wrongful act which assimilates our dead to the point where it will not be possible to know who was Jewish in their lifetimes.

A protest drive initiated by Jewish genealogists escalated it to a nationally publicized issue that was followed by public outcry. American Jewish leaders considered it an insult and a major setback for interfaith relations. They initiated discussions with the Mormon Church that culminated in a voluntary 1995 agreement by the Church to remove the inappropriate names. Activists continue to monitor Mormon baptismal lists, seeking removal of inappropriate entries.

Has the church done anything to uphold its decade-old agreement with the Jewish community? The bad news is that the Mormons did (and still do) hijack Jewish genocide victims and other Jewish dead. Moreover, when a Jew is baptized, the door is open for all of his deceased ancestors to be baptized as well. Regrettably, their baptismal records place before the public a revisionist view that these deceased Jews were Mormons, a position they would have rejected in life.

A commentator on this topic said that anti-Semites who desecrate Jewish cemeteries want to destroy even the memory of Jews by breaking their tombstones and other symbols whereby we honor and remember them. He concluded that baptism of the Jewish dead is just a more sophisticated form of breaking tombstones.

A blogger wrote: "I don't buy the argument that it's done for selfless reasons. It's not selflessness, it's arrogance. And especially in light of the Mormon Church's agreement in 1995 to stop baptizing Holocaust victims, it's even more reprehensible for them to continue the practice. If a church can't be trusted to keep its word in a matter such as this, then where is its moral standing?"

We want to say this to all well-meaning Christians: We don't want to be saved, redeemed, forgiven, reincarnated, resurrected, or enraptured. We just want to be left alone. After 2000 years -- is it so much to ask?

In 1995 the LDS Church and representatives of the Jewish community signed the agreement described at the beginning of this article. Jews have objected to the continuing Mormon practice of wrongful baptism of the Jewish dead, especially in the case of Holocaust victims, claiming that the practice mirrored the forced baptism of Jews in the middle ages.

A decade later this wrongful practice, which demonstrates a disrespect for Jews and Jewish feelings, has not ended. Because of public objections, the Church did remove names of thousands of Jewish holocaust victims from the IGI. However, they continue the baptismal ritual that hijacks Jewish forebears. Names of thousands of baptized Jews have not yet been expunged from within the growing Church records while new victims continue to be added. Removed names often reappear at a later date. Their practice of turning dead Jews into Mormons is a brazen act that may obscure the historical record for future generations. One hundred years from now, will anyone know who you were?

I. Search the International Genealogical Index ("the IGI")

The IGI 1 serves as an international baptismal index (entries of all of whom have had their temple work done). Information comes from submissions 2 by their membership, and it is not always accurate. As you search the IGI you may be surprised to find the names of your parents, of your grandparents, and of your great-grandparents, those who have bequeathed to you all you are of body and mind. To begin your IGI search

Now we Mormons are like the Jews...
______________________________________________

Yeah so I’ve heard...

Here’s one of the new and improved “Jewish Mormons”...

Glenn Beck, the Jewish Mormon Out to Change the World With His Mormon Centered Truths

Ed Decker

September 2011

Ever since Glenn Beck stepped out from the daily limelight on FOX TV and stopped stunning the world with his amazing insights regarding often hidden secrets of our national history and the underside of our political process; as well as his constant and ever-increasing call to challenge the hidden spiritual depths of the American Christian mindset, I have been waiting for the proverbial “other shoe” to drop. It dropped when he turned his attention to Israel. His trip there was not a casually planned event. It had a purpose that will shock you.

First, understand that I have written and described the Glenn Beck/ Mitt Romney/ Every Mormon Priesthood holder’s belief that the Constitution is as sacred as scripture and that the USA is the place where the Garden of Eden was, where Christ visited after his resurrection and where He will return.

This return of Christ will take place after the Constitution and government “hangs by a thread” and is saved by the elders of the Mormon Church. Then, the country will become a theocracy and after His temple is built in Missouri, Christ will return to reign for a thousand years. However, He will let the LDS Prophet and Brethren officiate over his earthly Kingdom of God.

For the details, send for your free copy of the report, The Mormon Plan for America and the Rise of Mitt Romney at ed@saintsalive.com

As an aside, Mormon leaders taught in the past that upon Christ’s coming to His temple, the Ten Lost tribes will then march from their isolation behind the North Pole and come to the new temple and begin their own temple work. That theory died quietly when Airplanes began flying over the north pole and found no hidden paradise teeming with Jews.

Now, having said all that, I need to share “the rest of the story.” Hidden away from the general public, is a secret that Glenn Beck has not dared share with his vast audiences.

It is a secret that reveals the reason Beck feels even more obligated to usher in his new spiritual world view to the Jews than he has been to bring the light of his new spiritual awakening to post-Christian America. The secret is that Glenn Beck is a Jew. Not just any Jew.

You see, Glenn Beck not only became a new Mormon when he was water baptized and had hands laid on his head for the “Gift of the Holy (Mormon) Ghost.” His ‘gentile’ blood was supernaturally and wholly changed during that process to pure and unadulterated Jewish blood.

That’s right. In an actual, holy, metaphysical miracle, without a single IV present, his blood and lineage was forever changed. He would later find out, during a prophetic blessing, that he was a Jew of the house of Ephriam.

In one of the most hidden, bizarre and rarely discussed Mormon doctrines, Mormons believe that they are the true Israel, not the Jews in Israel; that their blood is changed from gentile to Jewish blood at baptismal immersion. Beck was just visiting what he considers his ‘birthright.’ The Jews are interlopers as far as he and the LDS Church believes. In Utah, called Zion by the faithful in word and in hymns of the church, non-Mormons are openly called “Gentiles.”

In my own case, after I was converted to the church at age 20 and when I went into the waters of baptism and immediately after, as I had priesthood hands laid upon me to “Receive the Holy Ghost”, my “gentile” blood was literally and supernaturally changed to pure Jewish blood. I learned that later in my new church, I would be told during another once-in-a-lifetime blessing, the tribe in which I was now a blood member.

When I became a ‘worthy’ member, I personally received my “patriarchal blessing” was told that I was of the Israel house of Ephriam. Strange, I thought at the time, since I already was a Jew was born in the Levitical line. I was further perplexed that somehow, God changed my Jewish blood of the Levitical line to that of a lesser bloodline; that of a pompous slacker, Ephriam. When I tried to get an explanation from my Bishop, I was sharply rebuked and warned against looking into “the Mysteries.”

Now, understanding the Hand of the Mormon god upon his true Chosen people, the Mormons, the real Jews, you can see the profound importance of Beck’s trip to Israel, to set in place the spiritual foundation for the Mormons to take possession of their prophesied, self-ordained birthright, the Holy land of God.

Using his LDS Priesthood powers of authority, with Christ’s own Melchizedek priesthood and the “Powers and Principalities” sealed on him the Mormon Temple Ritual, he was there to pray in the demons of Mormonism to begin to pry open the spiritual doors for the Mormon take-over.

The saddest part of this fool’s errand was that supposedly godly Christian leaders like Dr. Mike Evans and John Hagee stood at his side, not having a clue that they were praying to a demonic spirit. God have mercy in them. The blind leading the blind into a ditch.

Beck wasn’t there by accident. He was there to begin the spiritual preparation for the return of Christ to, first, the LDS Temple prepared for His coming, in Missouri and then to the LDS Temple, actually the Jewish 3rd temple, in Jerusalem.

Wikipedia notes that:

Latter Day Saints believe that the Jews will build the Third Temple and after the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, the Jews will accept Jesus as the Messiah and most Jews will convert to Mormonism. T

Then, it is believed, the Third Temple will become an LDS Temple and will be one of the two most important LDS Temples along with the New Jerusalem Temple that it is believed will be constructed on the Temple Lot in Independence, Missouri, United States.

One of our friends, Mick, emailed me today and asked, “Does this not sound like a connection to the second half of the Tribulation Period when the Temple is taken over by the Anti-Christ and all are forced to worship him and saying that he is God or possibly Jesus Christ.”

If you need to study this further and check things out in Mormon documents, I include a quick few of them for you. Want to look even deeper? Google Mormon Jewish Blood and count the pages of references.

The late LDS Apostle and doctrinal teacher, Bruce R. McConkie explained:

But if someone whose blood was wholly of Gentile lineage were converted, he would be adopted into the lineage of Abraham and Jacob and become the house of Israel. (Abraham 2:9-11.) That this action involves a literal change in the convert’s blood was plainly taught by the Prophet [Joseph Smith] . . . “while the effect of the Holy Ghost upon a Gentile, is to purge out the old blood, and make him actually of the seed of Abraham. . . .” (Teachings of the prophet Joseph Smith, 149-150) (Mormon Doctrine, 390), (Journal of Discourses, 2:268)

“[A]s the Holy Ghost falls upon one of the literal seed of Abraham, it is calm and serene… while the effect of the Holy Ghost upon a Gentile, is to purge out the old blood, and make him actually of the seed of Abraham. That man that has none of the blood of Abraham (naturally) must have a new creation by the Holy Ghost. In such a case, there may be more of a powerful effect upon the body, and visible to the eye, than upon an Israelite.” - Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr., History of the Church, v. 3, p. 380

“[Joseph taught] that the Gentile blood was actually cleansed out of their veins, and the blood of Jacob made to circulate in them; and the revolution and change in the system were so great that it caused the beholder to think they were going into fits.”
- Prophet Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, v. 2, p. 269.

“This first Comforter… has no other effect than pure intelligence. It is more powerful in expanding the mind… of a man who is of the literal seed of Abraham, than one that is a Gentile…as the Holy Ghost falls upon one of the literal seed of Abraham, it is calm and serene…while the effect of the Holy Ghost upon a Gentile, is to purge out the old blood...” Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg. 149-50

Your mother must have seen other churches advertise in her 84 years. I see evangelicals and mega churches do it frequently.

Advertising by the LDS is nothing new although, in the past, I recall it's usually in the form of "we'll send you a Book of Mormon" if you call.

Romney team consulted with LDS leaders [Oct. 19, 2006]-_________________________________________________

Of course he did...

He had to have their permission to run for POTUS

Even if a mormon wants to enlist in the US armed forces they have to run it by the mormon leaders first...

Of course she has but what a coincidence that all of a sudden, there is a deluge of mormon commercials to try to convince people that mormons are normal when a candidate, who happens to be morman, is running.

Why start now? Those commercials you speak of have not been on any channel I watch for decades.

mormons are nothing like Jews. Jews believe in one God, mormonISM believe in many gods.
Jews do not believe they will become god, mormons however do.

Governor Mitt Romney's political team has quietly consulted with leaders of the Mormon Church to map out plans for a nationwide network of Mormon supporters to help Romney capture the presidency in 2008, according to interviews and written materials reflecting plans for the initiative.

I am SHOCKED!

Now we Mormons are like the Jews...

NOW???

MORMONism has ALWAYS called non-MORMONs 'GENTILES'.

Any thinking person KNOWs that a gentile is a non-Jew.

I really don’t understand the anti-Mormonism in this country.

Then you are admitting that you have not much knowledge of Christianity and even less of MORMONism.

Stay on the line and a representitive with be with you momentarily...

Another thing that struck me was that if you looked around you could see every race and color.

Ah...

How times have changed!

"You see some classes of the human family that are black, uncouth, uncomely, disagreeable and low in their habits, wild, and seemingly deprived of nearly all the blessings of the intelligence that is generally bestowed upon mankind.

The first man that committed the odious crime of killing one of his brethren will be cursed the longest of any one of the children of Adam. Cain slew his brother. Cain might have been killed, and that would have put a termination to that line of human beings.

This was not to be, and the Lord put a mark upon him, which is the flat nose and black skin. Trace mankind down to after the flood, and then another curse is pronounced upon the same race--that they should be the 'servant of servants', and they will be, until that curse is removed."

Brigham Young-President and second 'Prophet' of the Mormon Church, 1844-1877- Extract from Journal of Discourses.

Here are two examples from their 'other testament', the Book of Mormon.

2 Nephi 5: 21 'And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people, the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.'

Alma 3: 6 'And the skins of the Lamanites were dark, according to the mark which was set upon their fathers, which was a curse upon them because of their transgression and their rebellion against their brethren, who consisted of Nephi, Jacob and Joseph, and Sam, who were just and holy men.'

August 27, 1954 in an address at Brigham Young University (BYU), Mormon Elder, Mark E Peterson, in speaking to a convention of teachers of religion at the college level, said:

"The discussion on civil rights, especially over the last 20 years, has drawn some very sharp lines. It has blinded the thinking of some of our own people, I believe. They have allowed their political affiliations to color their thinking to some extent.I think I have read enough to give you an idea of what the Negro is after."

"He is not just seeking the opportunity of sitting down in a cafe where white people eat. He isn't just trying to ride on the same streetcar or the same Pullman car with white people. It isn't that he just desires to go to the same theater as the white people. From this, and other interviews I have read, it appears that the Negro seeks absorption with the white race. He will not be satisfied until he achieves it by intermarriage."

"That is his objective and we must face it. We must not allow our feelings to carry us away, nor must we feel so sorry for Negroes that we will open our arms and embrace them with everything we have. Remember the little statement that we used to say about sin, 'First we pity, then endure, then embrace'...."

(Rosa Parks would have probably told Petersen under which wheel of the bus he should go sit.)

1967, (then) Mormon President Ezra Taft Benson said,

"The Communist program for revolution in America has been in progress for many years and is far advanced. First of all, we must not place the blame upon Negroes. They are merely the unfortunate group that has been selected by professional Communist agitators to be used as the primary source of cannon fodder."

We are told that on June 8, 1978, it was 'revealed' to the then president, Spencer Kimball, that people of color could now gain entry into the priesthood.

According to the church, Kimball spent many long hours petitioning God, begging him to give worthy black people the priesthood. God finally relented.

Sometime before the 'revelation' came to chief 'Prophet' Spencer Kimball in June 1978, General Authority, Bruce R McConkie had said:

"The Blacks are denied the Priesthood; under no circumstances can they hold this delegation of authority from the Almighty.

The Negroes are not equal with other races where the receipt of certain blessings are concerned, particularly the priesthood and the temple blessings that flow there from, but this inequality is not of man's origin, it is the Lord's doings."

(Mormon Doctrine, pp. 526-527).

When Mormon 'Apostle' Mark E Petersen spoke on 'Race Problems- As they affect the Church' at the BYU campus in 1954, the following was also said:

"...if the negro accepts the gospel with real, sincere faith, and is really converted, to give him the blessings of baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost, he can and will enter the celestial kingdom. He will go there as a servant, but he will get celestial glory."

When Mormon 'Prophet' and second President of the Church, Brigham Young, spoke in 1863 the following was also said:

"Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God is death on the spot. This will always be so."

(Journal of Discourses, Vo. 10, p. 110)

Yeah; Native Americans are althroughout the Book of MORMON; too.

“I saw a striking contrast in the progress of the Indian people today ... they are fast becoming a white and delightsome people.... For years they have been growing delightsome, and they are now becoming white and delightsome, as they were promised.... The children in the home placement program in Utah are often lighter than their brothers and sisters in the hogans on the reservation.

At one meeting a father and mother and their sixteen-year-old daughter were present, the little member girl-sixteen-sitting between the dark father and mother, and it was evident she was several shades lighter than her parents—on the same reservation, in the same hogan, subject to the same sun and wind and weather.... These young members of the Church are changing to whiteness and to delightsomeness.

One white elder jokingly said that he and his companion were donating blood regularly to the hospital in the hope that the process might be accelerated.

(Improvement Era, December 1960, pp.922-23). (p. 209)

It is just a way for some to denigrate others.

And the rest use it to point out how un-Chrsitian MORMONism is.

Advertising by the LDS is nothing new although, in the past, I recall it's usually in the form of "we'll send you a Book of Mormon" if you call.

Well; I alREADY have a bible, so couldn't you just send a list of the badly translated parts?

So you either know nothing of Christianity or you know nothing of mormonISM or you know nothing of either.

Another thing that struck me was that if you looked around you could see every race and color. Very diverse.

Not sure how old you are - but this diversity was quite so 'diverse' as recently as 1978. Until that time blacks, though 'accepted' as mormons were denied temple recommends (and the associated progression to godhood), couldn't attend BYU and black boys couldn't hold leadership positions in mormon sponsored boy scout troops. When faced with multiple civil rights law suits - the prophet had a sudden 'revelation' that made all things well. Now, over 30 years later, intense PR and re-writing of history has painted over that termite-ridden portion of mormonism - although more recent ex-mormons may indicate that all is not happiness and ponies like they wanted to project.
