Obama Crushes Perry In New Poll

A new Rasmussen poll is pouring salt on Texas Gov. Rick Perry's wounds.
The struggling one-time front-runner is now trailing President Barack Obama in a head-to-head matchup 49 percent to 35 percent. Obama was leading Perry six or fewer points in two recent Rasmussen polls and Perry narrowly polled ahead of Obama in early September.
Perry would fare worse than businessman Herman Cain, who in a poll last week trailed Obama 42 percent to 39 percent. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney polls even with Obama the best of the Republican presidential candidates.

Not surprising... I get the impression from many Freepers’ posts that they’d rather have Romney as president, or even see Obama re-elected, over Perry.
Perplexing.
And sickening.

49 percent? No way Obama polls 49 percent, even among “all adults,” let alone “registered voters” or “likely voters.” Not even against a can of deviled ham.

The problem with any national poll in a state-by-state electoral system is that they are meaningless even the day before the election, but they are exponentially more meaningless a year before any election and any campaign.
That also applies to any other Republican candidate against Obama.

How bout you stop posting obviously bogus polls? Rick Perry is the only candidate willing to go after Romney. He is the only viable option. Tear him down if you insist, but he’ll be the nominee.

Perplexing. And sickening. Not hard to figure out. His performance since entering the race is historic in the depths of it's ineptitude.
I didn't know much about him before he got in the race. I figured, given his credentials, that he would be an acceptable nominee. I've now reached the conclusion that he just isn't very good at anything, and is horrible beyond description at simple debating. He is not too talented and, seemingly, not too bright. He should withdraw before embarrassing himself further.

Not perplexing at all. We got smacked up side the head with “compassionate conservatism” with GW, a Texan Governor if you recall. Not a second time.
To: perfect_rovian_storm
I posted this to you on another thread but Perry just told New Hampshire students that the American Revolution took place during the 16th century.
What a maroon!
To: perfect_rovian_storm
Good grief! We are a year plus away from the election. The economy will only get worse, why would it get better?
I haven't read or heard a reasonable explanation why it would.
Either way, you could put an actual natural born citizen Elephant as the GOP candidate and it will win the 2012 election.

2) He’s tanking even worse in the state polls.

My liberal wife and I were discussing Obama last night. He's not "hated" by people in the same sense that GW Bush was, but he's certainly started looking like an incompetent buffoon, watching things spin out of control as he becomes irrelevant. He just seems to be fading into the background.
Nobody takes him seriously at all. No leadership, no "hopey-changey" anymore. Just some pathetic loser who's simply occupying space as history goes by.

But why would Perry say that the American Revolution took place during the 16TH CENTURY? Do you guys ever go out of your state and look around?
I was mocked by a couple of Texans last week for saying Maine was a gorgeous state! But at least folks Down East know what century the Revolution was fought in.
