WINGLESS, BLOODSUCKING AND PARASITIC: MEET THE FLEA PARTY!

October 12, 2011
So far, the only major accomplishment of the "Occupy Wall Street" protesters is that it has finally put an end to their previous initiative, "Occupy Our Mothers' Basements."

Oddly enough for such a respectable-looking group -- a mixture of adolescents looking for a cause, public sector union members, drug dealers, criminals, teenage runaways, people who have been at every protest since the Berkeley Free Speech Movement, people 95 percent of whosehair is concentrated in their ponytails, Andrea Dworkin look-alikes and other average Democrats -- they can't even explain what they're protesting.

The protesters either treat inquiries about their purpose as a trick question, or -- worse -- instantly rattle off a series of insane causes: "No. 1, abolish capitalism; No. 2, because 9/11 was an inside job; No. 3, because Mumia is innocent ..."

Curiously, the only point universally agreed upon by the protesters and their admirers in the Democratic Party and the mainstream media is that "Occupy Wall Street" should be compared to the tea party. Yes, that would be the same tea party that has been denounced and slandered by the Democratic Party and the mainstream media for the lastthree years.

As a refresher: The Democratic National Committee called the tea partiers "angry mobs" and "rabid right-wing extremists." ABC said they were a "mob." CNN accused them of "rabble rousing." Harry Reid called them "evil mongers." Nancy Pelosi said they were "un-American." CNN's Anderson Cooper and every single host on MSNBC called the tea partiers a name that referred to an obscure gay sex act.

But apparently liberals couldn't even convince themselves that tea partiers were an extremist group unworthy of emulation.

At least they're embarrassed about what the OWS protesters really are: wingless, bloodsucking and parasitic. This is the flea party, not the tea party.

Contrary to all the blather you always hear about how lawless street protests and civil disobedience are part of the American tradition -- "what our troops are fighting for!" -- they are not. We are an orderly people with democratic channels at our disposal to change our government.

The very reason we have a constitutional republic is because of a mob uprising. Soon after the American Revolution, Shays' Rebellion so terrified and angered Americans that they demanded a federal government capable of crushing such mobs.

Now liberals compare their every riot, every traffic blockage, every Starbucks-window-smashing street protest to the civil rights movement –- which was only necessary because of them. These "Occupy Wall Street" ignoramuses seem to imagine they are blacks living in 1963 Alabama under Democratic governor George Wallace.

Be interesting to see how quickly “flea party”, “flea bagger” and other such aspersion is picked up by the MSM. Probably like never...and that is a problem.

I’m really tempted to make up a “Flea party” tee shirt, wear it, go down there and sit in with them and hold up obnoxiously sarcastic signs: “Work sucks I want free money” or “Rich people create jobs but I don’t want a job”

Classic Coulter: If Richard Nixon had won the 1960 election instead of John F. Kennedy -- as some say he did -- there never would have been a need for Rosa Parks, the Freedom Rides and the rest of the civil disobedience of the civil rights movement.

The ingenious system given to us by our founding fathers faltered on the morally corrupt obstructionism of elected Democrats.

Ann's verbiage is always a pleasure.

I can’t take Ann seriously anymore as a voice of conservatism. She supports Romney, Christy, and “homosexual” republicans. She is not a real conservative, and even when she makes a funny point...I don’t find her “funny” anymore.

I think real conservatives should shun her. Maybe she would see the light and get back on the right path. However, until she turns from foolishness...I won’t even read her columns.

Your concise comment reveals a lot. You won't read what Ann has to say, but you already know what she thinks. Amazing! How did a head-in-the-sand "critical thinker" like you ever come to Free Republic?

Let me know if you'd like to be added to the Ann Coulter ping list.

You can shun. I plan to continue reading her columns (thank you for posting them, Syncro) and occasionally a book off the shelf, when I want a laugh. She has some positions with which I disagree, but oh well: so does everyone else.

“You can shun. I plan to continue reading her columns....”

We each have to follow the dictates of our own conscience. Notice though, how few responded to this post quoting Ms. Coulter. She doesn’t generate much interest among conservatives anymore. It is a shame because she is a witty writer, but she has to face the consequences of ill advised positions on critical issues and on who she publically backs.

Shays rebellion cannot be compared with marxist protests. It was a legitimate rebellion by Revolutionary war veterans who were asking for debt relief due to their wartime service. At the time harsh repayment requirements were demanded by Europeans on Revolutionary war bonds that they be paid back in gold and silver. This required American bond issuers to call in loans and seize debtor property in order to generate the cash with which to the purchase gold and silver to make their repayments on bonds. The veterans were paying for the war twice over.

The veterans were asking for debt relief against their loans being called in and seizures in deference to their wartime service. Today veterans are protected against this by the Soldiers and Sailor relief act.

Shay’s Rebellion also produced a now famous quote on freedom by Thomas Jeffereson. From Wikipedia:

“Thomas Jefferson, who was serving as an ambassador to France at the time, refused to be alarmed by Shays’ Rebellion. In a letter to a friend, he argued that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing. “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

The OWS protestors are not creditor-squeezed war veterans asking for relief against loans being called in and seizures, rather they are straight-up marxists asking for free handouts. The veterans wanted their loans’ original repayment terms respected. The OWS-ers want government handouts grants. That’s a big difference.

Ms. Coulter should show a bit more intelligence and respect.

“She writes some very interesting and funny columns.”

That is not disputed. She is indeed a gifted writer.

However, funny columns are useless if she gives “aid and comfort” to the enemy. I consider the likes of Romney and Christie to be enemies...as I do the so-called GOP Homosexual groups. If you are not conservative...regardless of whether you have an (R) next to your name....you are my enemy in political matters.

Also, she has made deragulatory comments about candidates (or potential ones) that are conservative. So, I lose nothing by not reading her.

Let’s not forget Watts, Rodney King, Chicago ‘68, S.F. State and U.C. Berkeley (campus violence) in the 60’s, etc.

The Flea Party. That’s good.

Thank you for the history lesson - I love that stuff. And while not comparable in the “legal” aspects - I’m still a sucker for free speech and protests. Even if they are idiots. Although them blocking the streets and disrupting commerce, etc. is wrong.

If they are breaking the law, then they should be arrested. I imagine that those behind Shay’s Rebellion, the original Tea Party, the Bonus March, the Civil Rights movement, etc. knew there might be consequences. Of course sometimes those consequences of arrest and killings just made their voice louder.

Solid politically aware conservatives here at Free Republic don't suffer fools gladly, therefore your post didn't generate the amount of replies you think it should have.

She doesn’t generate much interest among conservatives anymore.

Those, like you, that peek in from the sidelines and only dip your toes in the political waters, run from the kitchen when it gets a little hot.

The readership she may have lost is more than made up for by the new ones she gets every day.

“The readership she may have lost is more than made up for by the new ones she gets every day.”

Not from the majority of conservatives found on this forum. They don’t pay her much attention anymore. Thus, so few comments here about the post.

I guess those “new” readers must be Romney/Christie lovers and/or homosexuals from non-conservative circles. She is passe here. Ann is nothing more than a performer...she is not a conservative. She has written books, sounding conservative, because that is where she could sell her goods.

Those days are coming to an end. I have read numerous posts by folks here on FR that rue the day they bought one of her books. Like I said, she is becoming passe.

If you want to read her stuff...go for it, but don’t think real conservatives will buy it anymore.
