Haley Barbour: Herman Cain Would Sweep The South

“If this election is where it ought to be, and that is a referendum on how President Obama is doing, Republicans are going to win. If Herman Cain is our nominee against Barack Obama, I think he’ll sweep the south," Gov. Haley Barbour (R-Miss.) told Laura Ingraham today.

“I think if it were today my wife would vote for Herman Cain. One of my sons, I have grown children, you know, from the first day said ‘Dad, do you know Herman Cain?’ I said sure, I’ve known him since I was Chairman. He said “Man, I like him, I like what he says,” and that is one of his great strengths Laura. He is likable. He does not give you the impression that he is full of himself, but rather than he is a straight-talkin’ person who, will tell you, he call it like he sees them. He’s not trying to sugar coat anything and at the same time he is not trying to be shrill and a chest beater. He’s a straight talker and I think that makes him very, very attractive to people.”

Haley Barbour, current (two-term) governor of Mississippi and former RNC chairman (1993-1997), a staunch pro-life Republican who flirted with running for the GOP presidential nomination this year but ultimately thought better of it, is just the kind of seasoned Republican politician Herman Cain needs on his side as the GOP presidential nomination campaign unfolds. Barbour is probably right about Cain’s chances of garnering votes in the south and saying so in a public forum can only mean that some influential Republicans (like Haley Barbour) are beginning to take Cain seriously. That might mean that the alleged ‘inevitability’ of Mitt Romney as the 2012 Republican presidential nominee is eroding. Let’s pray this is the case. Meanwhile, I would love to see Sarah Palin endorse Cain - but I doubt she’ll do so until much later in the primary process. We’ll see.

"The South" Isn’t it filled with all those rednecks clinging to their religion and their guns?

Obozo does not have a clue. hee hee hee It is far far beyond anything his pea brain can imagine. Sense of unity, sense of history, sense of pride, sense of respect for others, sense of common purpose. I so look forward to November 2012. It cannot come soon enought (like a kid before Christmas). Those Southerners and Westerners who will willfully crawl over broken glass to cast this ballot. And then, we will pursue these Commie Bastards for the rest of our natural lives.

>>Therefore, how can a person who associates themselves with the Tea Party be a racist if he or she supports Herman Cain and the Tea Party folks are, according to the MSM, racist. BY DEFINITION it is impossible.<<

Ah, but you’ve overlooked their classic rebuttal. Any black person favored by a white Republican or the Tea Party is also, by definition, an Uncle Tom. He’s sold out to the white race, and should no longer be considered black. He’s become a pseudo-slave who knows his place.

It’ll be a little hard for the Left to come to grips with the fact that we figure Herman Cain’s “place” is the White House, I suppose, but that’s the sort of mind-tangle created with the logic the Left uses.

Let’s pray this is the case.

Praying makes a difference! During the runup to 08, every time I saw hillary!, I prayed, "Please Lord, no".

Every time I see Herman, I pray "Please Lord, yes".

I also sent him a contribution the other day.

Of course not.

I am no Webster, but I would define racism as thinking one race (or your race) is superior to another race, or that one race is inferior to other races.

The TEA Party is in no way racist, IMO.

“I hope he can sweep the South and the GOP better wise up and drop that rino Romney.”

Cain won’t even need to campaign in the South. He’ll be able to spend much of his time in blue states, putting together his BLOWOUT.
