The Lean Campaign Machine of Herman Cain
Fox News ^ | October 13, 2011 | Joy Lin

Posted on 10/13/2011 3:09:50 PM PDT by bobk333

Since the surge in polls, the Cain campaign has received a flood of calls from the press and volunteers alike. According to Cain's Iowa operation, the number of members in their state Facebook group has increased 80 percent in the last week.

"We have four people on staff in Iowa. We're the leanest campaign in the state, I would venture to say nationally as well," said Iowa campaign staffer Lisa Lockwood. "Mr. Cain is running a business here, just like he always has. We're lean and strong, and we're exercising very hard to further the metaphor," she said, laughing.

In total, Herman Cain has just 35 people on the payroll nationally, which has some political operatives in early primary states raising questions about whether the campaign can translate the momentum into something concrete.

I’m so proud of my wife...she’s been involved with the Cain campaign a few months now and is carrying a work load like she’s never experienced...She’s on the phone constantly and I’m even fixing dinners and in full support of her loyalty and devotion to this campaign...

At times she’s expressed the need for more fund raising and have had to listen to her lectures (of course, I’m filling in for Herman’s ears...lol) about the lack of money being raised...well, I stood up for Cain and said he’s running this like a business man that wants to show a profit...

The “profit” is showing...he’s spent 1/3 less than Mitt and is about to run him out of this race on principle alone!!!

Why should it take $100,000,000 to run for President and win or for that matter lose?

Cain is proving it’s not all about the money...there are a majority of votes out here that you can’t buy (I’m not for sale!!!)...you have to earn them...through good ideas, honesty and with a statesman like approach...NOT political “Bull”...

Cain’s on a roll with this concept!

Freedom of speech comes with responsibilities. If we don’t support Cain we don’t have to bad mouth him.

So freedom of speech isn’t allowed when it comes to Herman Cain, or is it just you?

Oh it's allowed alright, but don't be coming into a pro-Cain thread and start telling lies about the man, by trying to claim that he's a 'smooth talker' just like 0bama. That is beyond the pale and you damn well know it.

So who do YOU support?

Art Laffer just appeared on “Special Report” with Bret Baier, on FOX. He heartily recommended Herman’s 9-9-9 Plan, and gave an excellent defense against the charges of increased taxes and higher taxes!

And I hasten to add to this important recommendation from Laffer that not only is he the originator of the 'Laffer Curve', that set of economic theories were the heart and soul of what was disdainfully called 'Reaganomics' by the left, but it produced the biggest and longest lasting economic boom of the late 20th century, and if Laffer is behind Cain's '9-9-9' plan, that is all I need to hear to support that plan.

I’m not going to pay 9% tax on food and other things.

Excuse me, little miss Thang, but you'll pay what the code says you'll pay.

Don't like it? Change it.

History is full of "little miss Thangs" in cuffs hollering about what they won't do.

The one I most recently interacted with didn’t like being called on it, got all huffy. I found it amusing.

In 2006, Cain was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer in his colon and metastases to his liver and given a 30 percent chance of survival. Cain underwent surgery and chemotherapy following the diagnosis, and has since reported that he is cancer-free.

Sorry, but that is a very poor reason not to support Herman Cain.

The same doctors who gave him a 30% chance of living, now give him a completely clean bill of health. He is completely cured. He is as energetic a politician and person as we've ever seen.

Plenty of people who beat cancer go on to do great things. Many of them live every day like it was their last. They embrace life and want to make the world a better place.

Herman Cain will beat the corrupt political system like he beat cancer.

With the help of the Tea Party, he will be President of the United States.

Please tell me which candidates are not “smooth talkers?” There is nothing smoother than a teleprompter. The best we can do is thoroughly vet him and hope he keeps his promises and values. Look to his religious life to get a glimpse of his values.

I happen to be in this bracket. I think Cain’s got the best plan to get the economy growing again.

There are more things to life than just what is best for me, but what is best for the nation as a whole.

Art Laffer’s opinion on this should carry significant weight.

The current system is/has been a powerful tool in creating class warfare and allowing socialism to gain a strong foothold in this country. Rather than be worried about how the ‘poor’ will adapt to 9-9-9, we ought to be outraged at a system that exploits the fact that they are poor and is designed to keep them that way!

Seems like a sorry reason to not support the best candidate. Cain seems to have more energy and gumption than the rest of the filed combined (except for Gingrich)! If he says he can do it, that’s good enough for me.

Any Cain supporters in Iowa or New Hampshire?

You need to step up and volunteer to help. Especially Iowa. It's going to take "boots" on the ground to make this work.

My best friend’s husband had stage 4 cancer. He’s in the reserves. After 5 years cancer free, our military felt he was healthy enough to go to Afghanistan.

It seems to me that if Cain has been cancer free this long, thence is good to go to be President.

People do get cured of cancer.

Yes, it WILL Happen. And this (you heard it on FR) "I like Herman, but he is not going to win" bullshit is now waaaay old and yesterday's narrative, it has been sent out with the Thursday afternoon garbage to the sidewalk, thank goodness!!

You can say anything you want but when both Paul Ryan and Art Laffer support 999, but your opinion starts to lack weight.
