“Sexual orientation,” which is essentially a mental attitude, we are supposed to believe to be unchangeable, inborn and just a fact of nature. Get used to it. Anybody who suggests the possibility of change is an evil bigoted hater.
Meanwhile, the actual physical genitalia and chromosomes are NOT really real, they’re subject to change at whim. Anybody who suggests that surgical alteration can’t really change a male into a female or the reverse is an evil bigoted hater.

Well, I think it’s more of a personality disorder, most often brought on by sexual abuse, or as in this case, being raised with incorrect gender identity norms. I understand and sympathise with them that it is often not amenable to change just because the sufferer WANTs to change. Nevertheless, you don’t make evil good by calling it so.
