Brzezinski: Make Rich Known Publicly To Pressure Them To Give Back
Real Clear Politics ^ | October 17, 2011 | Real Clear Politics

Zbiginew Brzezinski, national security adviser under Jimmy Carter, told the "Morning Joe" program he thinks the names of the rich "should be known publicly" so the masses can "pressure some of those people to give some of it back to society." "You know, how many Americans are really fully aware of how many other good people, that’s like Warren Buffett and others, who really donate a lot of their earnings to charities, to philanthropy?" Mr. Brzezinski said. "But how many more are there in the hedge funds? In the banks? In a variety of other places who on the basis of speculation literally make millions of dollars that it would take a century or two for the average person ever to make? I would like to see those lists. And they shouldn't be that difficult to produce. And I think public pressure might have also some effect, not only in terms of moving towards more systematic international coordination and regulation. But also to pressure some of those people to give some of it back, back to society."

Make all of the freeloaders come over to my home and ask for a handout, or at least write me a personal thank you note.

Takes no skill to be an advisor to Jimmy Carter. Hell, even an idiot like Bresniski can do it. What a jackass.

This class warfare being waged by the commies reeks and is distinctly un-American.

Especially since Liberals ... push ... government spending to help the neediest people at home and abroad. Yet, when it comes to individual contributions to charitable causes, liberals are cheapskates.

Is it fair for one person to pay several hundred thousand dollars a year in federal income tax, regardless of how much he or she earns?

Sure it is.

If someone earns $100M in a year, and pays $1M income tax, that's a rate of 1%. Doesn't sound unfair to me.

Remember when Clinton’s tax returns showed that he had ‘donated USED underwear” & had taken a per item price charitable deduction for those donations????

That still ranks as one of the creepiest things the Clinton’s have ever done.

Are you living off my tax dollars?

If so give that back.

You owe us for what you did in Office.

Cut that last little deal with Iran so the hostages could get recourse in Title 3 courts. When US had forzen the money already.

How do you spell "crackpot?"

I thought the man was a refugee from Communism. This makes him sound like a plant.

The reality is that Communism )(Egalitarian Collectivism Sabotages Human Potential.

The more Government seeks to level the wealth of the people, the more people drop out of productive efforts to better themselves, and both they and society, in general, lose in the process.

If you understand why the free market works, you should understand how truly this man is a crackpot."

Would this giveback start for the rich billionaires who have $200k to their names? Why not just confiscate everyone, and leave it to the local commissars to re-distributed it justly?

Oh wait, I’ve seen that movie before, and it wasn’t a happy one.

I work at Nike. Phil Knight and co and done a ton for Oregon - and probably not just Oregon. Not to mention the boost to the economy - he has funded the Phil Knight Cancer Institute and I know people who have directly benefited from him bringing the best talent he can find in the world to Oregon.

If Knight had no incentive for success none of this would have happened and if he had some how succeeded in spite of the government and our politicians siezed his money we could expect a couple more years funding of the post office or some other malfunctioning government program.

The protesters want to get paid for doing nothing - regardless of whether or not they’re able. What in history makes them think this will work? Nothing that I know of. This is pure selfishness on their part - just like the old hippies who wanted everyone to share - since they had nothing what they meant was “give me your stuff”.

Lazy bastards.

Had a W2 across my desk recently for someone who earned $323,000. Federal taxes withheld: $89,000.
