An economic recovery bill authored by Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D.-Conn.) seeks to empower struggling families by directing the federal government to distribute free diapers through day care centers.
The Diaper Investment and Aid to Promote Economic Recovery Act (DIAPER Act) would relieve some of the stress on families facing hardship in this economy by providing this direct service, DeLauro said in a letter to congressional colleagues urging them to co-sponsor her bill.
Without diapers, children are not allowed to attend day care, said DeLauro, who described those in need as a lost generation of Americans.
In fact, over one in five mothers have had to skip an obligation and stay home with their child because of lack of diapers, DeLauro said. And losing out on day care makes it even harder for parents to put in a full days work.
We all believe that nothing we do in government is as important as ensuring the next generation has the tools they need to thrive. But for our children and our nation to succeed, we have to support their development, their families, and the public policies that ensure opportunity. Ensuring that low-income families have access to diapers through the DIAPER Act is one of those policies that will make a difference, and I urge you to become an original co-sponsor, DeLauro wrote in the Oct. 5 letter.
Rosa is almost as much as rich as she is stupid.

DIAPER Act....Even the Onion couldn’t come up with anything this stupid.
I’m pretty sure the free diapers will have the Constitution printed on the inside.
This isn’t satire?
This isn’t satire.
why not go all the way and give them cheese to go with their whine...
DeLauro’s face looks like a soiled diaper.
Quit having damn babies you can’t afford!!
What kind of s**t is this?
I paid to raise my own kids. I paid taxes so that others’
kids could go to college for free while I paid inflated tuition. Now I’m supposed to buy someone else’s diapers?
Another stinking liberal who thinks everyone else needs to support them.
Why can’t they use cloth diapers and wash them? 9 dozen will last you through 4 babies. That’s what I did.
Rosa should wear a diaper. On her face!
Why not use the cloth diapers?
Rep. Rosa DeLauro’s (D.-Conn.) supply of “Depends” must be running low.
She’s a huge Nancy Pelosi comrade/friend/fellow idiot
Holy smokes - I figured this was from one of the “semi-satirical” Web sites that sometimes confuses people or was Human Events trying their version. Nope. This is real. She put out a press release almost 2 weeks ago. Good grief. Free stuff for everyone!!! There is an unlimited pot of gold held by “billionaires and millionaires” to pay for this!!
To hear them tell it, they don’t have any food. Why do they need free diapers?
Cloth and the old diaper pail if you can’t afford the disposables.
One thing you have to say about Rosa DeLauro, though, those communist New Havenites don't send her to Congress because of her good looks:
Can’t afford diapers, can’t feed ‘em? DON’T BREED DAMNIT!
Back in the day Diapers were made of cloth, If nothing else was around they tore up sheets.
I cannot understand why the Greenies would even think of handing out Paper diapers. It takes a lot of trees to make diapers.
Go back to the cloth ones and wash them.
