Posted on 10/19/2011 3:17:51 PM PDT by #1CTYankee
An economic recovery bill authored by Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D.-Conn.) seeks to empower struggling families by directing the federal government to distribute free diapers through day care centers.
The Diaper Investment and Aid to Promote Economic Recovery Act (DIAPER Act) would relieve some of the stress on families facing hardship in this economy by providing this direct service, DeLauro said in a letter to congressional colleagues urging them to co-sponsor her bill.
Without diapers, children are not allowed to attend day care, said DeLauro, who described those in need as a lost generation of Americans.
In fact, over one in five mothers have had to skip an obligation and stay home with their child because of lack of diapers, DeLauro said. And losing out on day care makes it even harder for parents to put in a full days work.
We all believe that nothing we do in government is as important as ensuring the next generation has the tools they need to thrive. But for our children and our nation to succeed, we have to support their development, their families, and the public policies that ensure opportunity. Ensuring that low-income families have access to diapers through the DIAPER Act is one of those policies that will make a difference, and I urge you to become an original co-sponsor, DeLauro wrote in the Oct. 5 letter.
Rosa is almost as much as rich as she is stupid.

It is becoming impossible to parody these fools.
Rosa is brain dead.
I believe this ghastly looking ‘female” no doubt depends upon Depends.
She is, however, the epitome of the typical Democrat female. (Or whatever she is.)
Greenies hate them until they have to use them. After that they are ex-Greenies.
Her face would make a train take a dirt road.
Just when you think you have heard it all...............
Star Trek alien?
You must be a couple of years behind. They have a program for that called WIC. http://www.fns.usda.gov/wic/
If these animals cannot afford to care for their children they shouldn’t have them.
I’m tired of being the godfather of all of these kids.
These Parasites should be given the choice of caring for their children or go to jail. But stop expecting the tax payer to care for them.We have our own families to care for.
It looks as though Rosa could use a house dropping on her.She needs to go.But the Liberals are in Control of the thired congressional district which she represents. What a waste.
Rosa DeLauro, another stinking COMMIE:
I did it too for my first three.
At the fourth one I gave up and went with the disposables.
The beauty of it is, under Obamacare you can keep diapering your offspring until they’re 27 years old.
I had my oldest in cloth diapers for about three weeks before I gave up and that was with a service. It was a full change of clothes every time I changed him, bedding too, and no service for that, or washer in the house but for the sink and hand scrubbing. Praise to the inventor of the disposable.
There is a black market in diapers, already, maybe EBT purchases? I went to a flea market across the river from Philly a month ago, 80% of the customers were black, probably 50% immigrants, Haitian, Mestizo or Middle Eastern. Lots of Chinese vendors. And so many of the vendors carried diapers. Now how does a flea market vendor get diapers cheaper than a supermarket? Free diapers or diaper vouchers are just going to be another contribution to the black market supply, even if you only gave them to the preschool for use there.
A teacher in Jersey City told me that many Hispanic kids were coming into kindergarten not potty-trained. The disposables were so easy to use for the parents, and the children had no embarrassment.
Cost was a major incentive for me to get mine out of diapers, and convenience an incentive to let them go a while longer ... I’m in no mood to pay for anyone else’s convenience.
They already have free formula - WIC. All that is left from birth to death is free college education - everything else from formula, children's healthcare, public education through HS, food stamps, utility assistance, EBT cash benefits, cell phones, housing assistance, unemployment coverage for years, on and on and on is already being given away to the freeloaders.
I can tell you exactly how: stolen truckloads of merchandise. I broker freight as a part of my business and you would be AMAZED at how many truckloads, of even ridiculous items, are stolen. Diapers, Kleenex, OTC medicines, batteries, cigarrettes - you name it, it gets stolen by the 53' trailer full - that is a sh*tload of diapers (no pun intended).
“What next... free Formula?”
Although they push breast feeding, I believe WIC covers formula as well.
If you haven’t any money you use what you have to.
Certainly the throw away diapers are nice, but like I say, You do what you have to do.
Ithn’t she Bawnie Fwank’s thithter? If so, I’ll bet their parents are proud of both of them!
ids nowdays can't tell if they are wet with the fancy disposables that wick away the moisture.
They get free Formula,Housing, car and Education.Pregnant, just say you don’t know who the Father is.
I’m sorry but the poor shouldn’t need diapers. If you can’t afford to diaper a baby let alone feed and raise one then you should be more careful. Condoms would be more appropriate.
Kids today are too damn lazy to wash diapers. They’re the me, me, me generation. The last generation was bad enough.
I still think violent video games and violent/immoral movies have made kids minds mushalong with the weed. They think they’re owed. They think they’re immortal.
I wouldn’t want to bring a kid into this world at this time.
those must be broom-riding goggles!
“over one in five mothers have had to skip an obligation and stay home with their child because of lack of diapers”
WTF? Maybe because their kid filled up a diaper, but I sincerely doubt twenty percent of mothers stayed home because they couldn’t find a clean diaper.
Daycare workers will probably revolt at the idea of having to rinse and store them until retrieved by the parental units.
They'll claim they're a Bio-Hazard or some such nonsense.
DeLauro and her husband have significant ties to the Communist Party of Connecticut, esp. in New Haven (Joelle Fishman, CP head). Check out their records at www.keywiki.org, search under DeLauro’s full name, same for Joelle Fishman, and “Connecticut Communist Party”.
DeLauro is one of the farthest left members of congress there is today. Believe her husband was convicted of some crime. Details are at Keywiki.org.
I wonder if she is free to haunt some houses this Halloween. Won’t even need a mask, but, as the wise man once said, “That DEPENDS” (is badly needed).
YOURS is the insanity. Run liberals through a wood chipper, add them to the compost pile, then fertilize your vegetable garden with them. They will then experience their PROFESSED fondest dream, that of feeding the hungry!!! Let libs go to WAIST, not waste.
Anybody here know the Liberal definition of “Free”?
I’m really nothing to look at, but what was DeLauro thinking when she bought those glasses? That it would make her look good? They makes her look even uglier.
12-20 cloth diapers Is all a family needs per baby. Buy 2 a month through pregnancy. Everyone can afford it.
Left over Hippie from the 60’s???
That’s a woman? Damn
She and her spouse are involved in a ponsi scheme ate feds should have been involved in years ago.
