Rep. Allen West Assails Occupy Wall Street for 'Laughable Hypocrisy'
NEWSMAX.COM ^ | 10-19-2011 | Jim Meyers and Ashley Martella

Rep. Allen West denounces the Occupy Wall Street movement for “laughable hypocrisy” and contends that it is dangerous that some in Washington, including President Barack Obama, are embracing the nationwide wave of protests.

During an extensive interview with Newsmax.TV, the Florida Republican also:

Blames Washington for the nation’s economic problems. Decries Obama’s “class warfare rhetoric.” Insists that Attorney General Eric Holder should resign over the Operation Fast and Furious gunrunning scandal. And says Obama should “dust off” his Nobel Peace Prize and return it, considering the military ventures he has advanced during his administration.

West, who was elected in 2010, is a member of the House Tea Party Caucus and the only Republican member of the Congressional Black Caucus. He served more than 20 years in the U.S. Army and achieved the rank of lieutenant colonel before retiring in 2004.

In the exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, West expressed sharp criticism of the Occupy Wall Street protests in Manhattan and elsewhere.

“I think the hypocrisy of this movement is somewhat laughable,” he declares. “I would agree with them that we don’t need to have crony capitalism in the United States of America, where we have government picking winners or losers in the free market or trying to be a venture capitalist. But when I see signs that these people are holding up signs saying ‘end capitalism,’ then my question is: What do you replace it with?

“I think there is a danger in the people on Capitol Hill starting to embrace this movement, especially now that we know that the American Nazi Party and the American Communist Party are also starting to align themselves with this Occupy movement.

“When you really start to peel the onion back and look at some of the things these protesters want to see in America,...

Cain/West

Now that’d be a ticket.

I’ll pray for that.

Besides as most are aware, it is crucial to have a veep from FL or OH.

Gotta takes those electoral votes

Herman’s parents met, and were married in Ohio.

I’m not saying he wouldn’t carry it on his own.

But I’d like a relaxing evening on the second of November.

Beat me to it. This is the one ticket that runs strong in both the East Battlegrounds (NH, IA, OH, FL, VA, NC, MI, WI) and the West Battlegrounds (NV, CO, NM).

Cain/West is by far the strongest ticket I see so far emerging:

(1) West Secures FL for Cain. On Election night, if they get 37% of the vote in Broward County, that’s enough to turn the state Red by itself. Even then, they’ll cut the normal 2/3 winning margins in South FL considerably which gives the Democrats no chance to make up the difference in the rest of the State.

(2) West has Foreign Policy Experience.

(3) West has been in Washington long enough to know how it works, but not long enough to become corrupted

If Cain is the nominee, West should be the top choice for that VP ticket.

It’s interesting Herman Caine is never asked similar questions.

First one must eliminate the bad blood that is said between the two. That would take a come to Jesus meeting sit down with the both of them. Secondly there would have to be a clear electoral strategy to suggest the viability nationally of such a ticket to beat Obama solidly in a) the South and b) all the borderline purple states. I happen to think Cain as the nominee actually needs a skilled person with many direct years in foreign policy and national security such as Ambassador John Bolton, or somebody from the Senate skilled in foreign policy. Even junior senator Rubio who says “NO” (for now, they ALL say “NO”), would be perfect. They would kick ass except in Cal, NY, Illinois, Mass, Hawaii and three or four other states, but would get well over the “270”.

What a wimpy headline.

Better: West attacks Obama Marxists and Sends the Wimps Running

Combat hero West set the record straight and sent the commie Obama cowards scurrying back to their neo-Nazi racist ratholes.

The chicken obuma clucked that it’s not fair to send a man against a chicken-shit poodle. “Puck! Puck! Puck!’ obuma said, while pecking seeds from the dirt. Furthermore: “Puck! Puck!”

West said he can relate to the sentimentality of a chicken in our whitehouse, but now is not the time for that.

“We need a man in these times, not a chicken dinner,” West said.

I think Allen West is even stronger than Cain. In fact, I like him better than anyone in the current field. He recognizes the Occupy Wall Street crowd as Communists and isn’t afraid to say so. He knows Islamism on the march is a real threat to our liberty. He has risked his life to serve our country. He’s got facts, figures, and historical quotes and references at his fingertips. He’s a powerful pro-America speaker, and he’s a natural and inspiring leader.

I agree almost entirely. However West will not run for president so we have to find our best candidate in the current field. Cain has more experience in areas that matter to the electorate, namely business and the economy.

West knocks out foreign policy and has DC experience, albeit limited.

With Cain/West you’d have a grand total of two years service in elective office. That’s hardly “long enough to know how it {DC/federal govt] works.” Two good men, but between them do not have the experience that would be needed to take over the reins of the federal government.

Boy, this man is sharp as a tack, even though I disagree with him on a couple of things.

I'm proud to have voted for Allen West in 2010. On issues such as this, he really cuts through the spin and hits the nail on the head.
