Michael Steele predicts Romney-Cain ticket
Daily Caller ^

Imagine this scenario: The polished businessman with the smooth and steady hand and the self-starter that appeals to the enthusiastic tea party contingent. Endorsement or no endorsement, move over, Chris Christie. Make room for a Romney–Cain ticket.

On Wednesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” MSNBC contributor and former Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele predicted a Romney partnership with Herman Cain, the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO.

“I think what you’re looking at down the road is a Romney–Cain ticket — the merging of Wall Street and Main Street coming together to go up against Obama and Biden and to talk in those terms, the overall terms about the difference between creating jobs in a local economy versus creating jobs in a governmental economy,” Steele said. “That’s going to be an interesting debate with those two guys.”

Michael Steele attempts to cling to relevance despite being a nobody.

Romney must not be on the ticket. If he is, then it will be very bad for our country, Romney will not destroy what Obama hath built.

If Romney were to win, he probably would pick Cain, but he wont win.

Any Conservative in good standing, who votes for Romney is only setting up for the GOP to lose in 2012! This here is nothing more than McCain-Palin 2, the GOP Establishment knows full well that Romney can’t appeal to the Tea Party Wing and all they are doing is playing Cain. The establishment has desire to win in 2012 because they figure in losing they can win by running Jeb Bush in 2016 and cut the coconuts off of the Tea Party at the same time .

My preference from the current field is Newt. What a great American - but I stand a better chance than he does.

Besides the wacked out Ron Paul, I think Romney is my least favorite - however, I’m a realist at heart.

My bet for the 2012 Republican ticket is.....

Romney - Rice

I thought the Romney - Cain ticket looked promissing, but there is no foreign experience...

I know I’ll catch hell with this post, but heck - it’s not there is a game to watch or anything tonight.

Cain made it clear he could support Romney if he won the nomination so is it that farfetched to believe this ticket? Why is Steele attacked for giving the idea a hearing when Cain certainly hasn’t gone out of his way to distance himself from or attack Romney.

I won’t vote for a Romney ticket.

Not really ~ but Romney would be the first major party candidate to only pull 10% of the vote.

Mike probably sees something like that but like so terribly many Freepers he's looking for "slickness" in a candidate.

I like Cain, but Cain’s presence on a Romney ticket would still not be nearly enough to make me vote for Romney.

Great, so much for Cain/West. Like I think that would ever come to fruition. LOL. If the Republicans run Romney and he loses, its time to pack it up. The party will be dead meat. Come 2016 it will be time to register the Tea Party.

Romney will never get above that 20% of Republicans, and they're pretty much the same crowd that would vote for Rice.

That turns into 10% on the national scene.
