I will take the rich immigrants over the destitute immigrants. You are worried about may be a couple of hundred people every year able to afford $500,000 up front for a house and investment? I am worried about million legal immigrants every year most of them with no assets to speak of. I am petrified over the million illegal immigrants sneaking in every year. I like to keep an eye on proportionality. I am from the Herman Cain school of thought. Identify and address the bigger problem first.

I can’t recall any of the identified terrorists with total assets approaching a million dollars. May be you know many of that kind. Countries like Canada and Australia give preference to rich immigrants, and they have been doing it for several decades without problems.

Yes, well I am worried about the million of illegal immigrants coming into the country; AND I am worried about selling off our country and awarding visas.

When you have a CEO of a real estate corporation saying that attracting foreign buyers is not a problem, why would we be handing out visas?

This is not the answer to the real estate market woes. If you think the economy is a less significant issue than immigration, you may want to reconsider. This will have far-reaching ramifications.

This has nothing to do with Cain, he is still just a candidate. This is a Chuck Schumer issue on a bill that is about to be introduced.

I will just add one last thing...take it from this old dude who is on Medicare, do not ever worry about rich guys coming into the country, bringing with them a cartload of money. It has never hurt Canada and Australia. I have lived in 3 countries and seen a lot. Worry about people coming here without education, without money, and to drop anchor babies. That is what is hurting our economy when all the hidden costs are added up.

And which is why I stipulated a criminal background check. When I applied for US citizenship 40 years ago, they not only did a criminal background check on me, they also took finger prints and questioned me about political goals.

As for jihadists using this route to enter the country, it is far cheaper to wade across the Rio Grande.

It was much more difficult to enter this country 40 years ago, even 30 years ago. Somewhere in the 1990's when the US started issuing an alphabet soup of NIV's, non-immigrant visas, all it took was a pulse to enter.

As to wading across the Rio Grande, Jihadis are charged a premium to enter via that route. Much cheaper and easier to enter as a student , guest worker, or visitor and overstay your visa. No one will track you.

That is correct. To summarize, always focus on the bigger problems, not get distracted by small issues. Penny wise Pound foolish! Lost in the woods looking at trees...etc. Millions of illegals are a much worse problem than a few hundred who might be able to fork over half a million dollars. Illegals are mostly under-educated and destitute. Even most million plus legal immigrants do not bring financial assets with them. But I see people are having knee jerk reactions at visa's granted to millionaires.
