I don’t support Cain but I think the ad is hilarious. That’s actually Cain’s campaign manager smoking the cigarette. Shows he’s unconventional and brash. He’s probably a good dude for Cain. Let’s just hope they both go down in flames. lol
You are right. We can’t beat Obama with an amateur who hasn’t done his homework. The recent appearances of the candidates in Des Moines that were televised over the weekend prove that. Cain gave his stock speech about the shining city on the hill sliding down the hill and he wants to push it back up to the top of the hill. It’s a stupid analogy anyway, and it’s a rather unimaginative takeoff on Reagan’s famous speech. He finished up with a Q&A where he gave superficial, non-specific answers to questions on energy, the economy, and other topics. There was very little evidence that he’s done his homework on anything besides 9-9-9. I don’t find him impressive at all. I predict he’s a flash-in-the-pan—in it to sell his book and promote himself. Republicans would be nuts to put him forward as the nominee. It would quantee four more years of Obama.
Brit is another decent guy who has just spent too much time in the bubble. When apolitical guys work start asking me about Herman Cain something is going Hermans way.
Well said. It is fun to watch establishment freak out as Cain continues to gain steam.
In a hand-basket. Someone once posted 'Rove, you magnificent bastard" for some reason and I remember thinking then that he was a bastard sure, but not magnificent, merely a weasel. Another someone said he looked like a shaved guinea pig and I had to concur.
BOR is and has always been a POS.
Brit Hume is the disappointment. He was a little bit techie with computers when DOS was still around and seemed like a logical fella'. Then he drank the Kool-Aide, got Potomac fever, and started believing that he was smart. I am so sad for him.
I dunno, I like it, but then I like a sense of humor in a guy. It's not like he was acting like a wannabe comedian, it was wry humor. Maybe 'we' is not we, yeah.
Haah... how funny... its all about getting folks to check out the ad, with a not so subliminal message touting personal freedom, slapping down political correctness... I love it!!
+++++
I was very sadly surprised to hear Brit Hume and others on Fox say that they didn’t understand the Cain ad. And they are in the message business.
Volkswagen ads; Apple ads; Absolut ads; Thinking outside the box = Herman Cain a master salesman.
Hume et al didn’t understand why the ad ended with the Cain smile. Somehow I don’t believe they can be that obtuse!
