The the Sheriff is the ultimate law enforcement officer in any county in the country.
The Sheriff is an elected official and responsible only to the citizens of his or her county.
We have Sheriffs but not of the same mindset as Joe.
There are plenty of folks around here who wouldn’t mind us having tent cities like Joe’s set up for his prisoners. No Sheriffs have the guts to do it though. Too cold during the winter is their excuse.
