Cain responds to sex harassment allegation
Washington Examiner ^ | October 30, 2011 | Byron York

Posted on 10/30/2011 7:06:28 PM PDT by markomalley

Herman Cain's campaign headquarters has released a response to a story, broken this evening on Politico, that in the 1990s two female employees of the National Restaurant Association "complained to colleagues and senior association officials about inappropriate behavior by Cain," who at the time was head of the trade group.

Calling the story "thinly source allegations," Cain spokesman J.D. Gordon said: "Since Washington establishment critics haven't had much luck in attacking Mr. Cain's ideas to fix a bad economy and create jobs, they are trying to attack him in any way they can."  Gordon did not address any of the specific allegations in the report.  Asked for a more specific answer, the campaign did not provide details.

Here is Gordon's complete response:

Inside the Beltway media attacks Cain

Fearing the message of Herman Cain who is shaking up the political landscape in Washington, Inside the Beltway media have begun to launch unsubstantiated personal attacks on Cain.

Dredging up thinly sourced allegations stemming from Mr. Cain’s tenure as the Chief Executive Officer at the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s, political trade press are now casting aspersions on his character and spreading rumors that never stood up to the facts.

Since Washington establishment critics haven't had much luck in attacking Mr. Cain's ideas to fix a bad economy and create jobs, they are trying to attack him in any way they can.

Sadly, we’ve seen this movie played out before – a prominent Conservative targeted by liberals simply because they disagree with his politics.

Mr. Cain -- and all Americans, deserve better.

Cain is likely to face questions about the matter on Monday.  He is scheduled to appear at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington in the morning to discuss his 9-9-9 tax plan, and then speak -- and take questions -- at the National Press Club at lunch.

I was reading comments on another site, and someone posted a Twitter message from one of Perry’s AZ staff, from three days ago.

Oh, sure, none of the other candidates will benefit if they smear the front-runner so he gets knocked out.

That’s ridiculous.

I hope no one listens to your demand for a zot. (And that the Lord answers your prayer that Texas be annexed by Mexico with a gentle, “NO!”)

This is a gotcha reporter-generated story designed to make us all look bad. How long before we hear how saintly and chaste Obama is, but “just look at your Baptist preacher! And your own people are claiming Perry has “skeletons of his own.”

This makes your rant against Texas in an effort to attack our Governor more than just disinformation. But, just to set the record straight:

Texans, including our Governor, don’t support amnesty. We require that anyone who is eligible to pay in state tuition actually *pay* in state tuition when they go to college. We don’t give guns to gangs. (That’s Holder and Obama, remember?) We certainly don’t “support” rape or murder on either side of the border.

And don’t you dare mess with our *Texian* and Tennessee hero, Representative and Colonel David Crockett! We do still welcome men and women of character, just as we welcomed David Crockett. His motto: “Be always sure you’re right - then go a-head!”

BTW, Crockett’s commander was William B. Travis, who was born in South Carolina. Both refused to surrender and died heroes at the Alamo over a month before we won our independence and captured the President of Mexico (Santa Anna called himself the Napoleon of the West) at the Battle of San Jacinto. Those victorious *Texians* were commanded by General Sam Houston, who was born in Virginia.

Clarence Thomas MEANT that his “high tech lynching” was character assassination and they were out to destroy him.

He has said in interview that the committee hearings were about one issue... abortion.

He didn’t say in that same interview that they came after him because he was a black man. In fact, he brushed that premise aside when it was offered.

And now, Cain uses “high tech lynching” to emphasize that they are going to come after him and destroy his character. He KNEW this was coming.

And he was right.

“The sources — which include the recollections of close associates and other documentation — describe episodes that left the women upset and offended. These incidents include conversations allegedly filled with innuendo or personal questions of a sexually suggestive nature, taking place at hotels during conferences, at other officially sanctioned restaurant association events and at the association’s offices. There were also descriptions of physical gestures that were not overtly sexual but that made women who experienced or witnessed them uncomfortable and that they regarded as improper in a professional relationship.”

So in the auras and penumbras appear the outlines of a psychosexual slip-and-fall scam.

Picked up by the Palin-labelled politico punk.

A nothingburger.

Was the husband killing himself in the woods as the wife was groped in the Oval Office, her cat killed, her tires slashed.

Perhaps she was delivering a pizza on her knees in the Oval Office receiving the semen-in-chief on a blue dress from The Gap.

Clarence Thomas stood up for life and was the intended victim of a high-tech lynching.

Now comes the same for another life defender as he foresaw.

While the suspicious murders of the gay black men of Obama's church and his penchant for the Full Larry Sinclair Experience are never spoken of.

Billy Graham would not answer the door nor be in the company of women without witnesses for that famous evangelist knew how the world works.

The Devil Comes Down to Georgia and when his fiddling is second-best he smears.

Remember when the scandal came out right before the 2008 election about the possible gay love affair of Obama and the subsequent murder of another gay man at Obama’s church....all swept under the rug by the media? Anyone who still thinks this is a “free” country after all that is out of their ever loving mind.
The fascist powers that be..do not want Cain to see the light of day in this election. Just like they didn’t want Palin to survive and launched an unprecedented attach, they will savage Cain in all the media with unusual brutality in any way possible. I won’t be surprised at how vicious they will become. Cain is a threat to the stealth dictatorship.

There will be no covering for Cain like there was for Obama..mark my words.

But do we know there were payments made? Apparently, there has been no confirmation. All these unidentified sources make this whole matter suspect.

You may be right about this not coming from the Obama camp. Sadly, it sounds like something from all those Republicans in the tank for Romney. It’s pathetic that Cain can be stabbed in the back by his own party.

No, Cain would have denied the payments if they were deniable, and his own camp said that the issue had been “settled” amicably. It’s pretty clear the payments were made.

Companies make payments like this all the time. That’s not the issue. The issue is the behavior of Cain at the time and we know nothing about that. Wait for the other shoe to drop.

Here's where I have a problem. When you first think about running, your advisors ask you.."Is there ANYTHING I need to know that could hurt you?"

Cain reportedly told a few that there might be some allegations made against him." Immediately, they should have gathered ALL the info, understood exactly what was, or was not there, and figuring that in politics, EVERYTHING comes out, have long prepared a response.

It may be that they're just flustered, becuase they've been riding a wave for the last few weeks, and caught unawares..

Romney or Perry behind this? Take your pick.

It's Romney's style, IMO.

It could also be part of an early Democrat fishing expedition, as I don't think Obama's eager to run against Cain.

And it could be just some guest-in-the-net stuff, swept up in the trawling for Perry dirt. Remember that "Ever had sex with Rick Perry" effort?

Looks like a few people were able to respond feebly, "No, but Herman Cain called me hon once, and I took him to the cleaners."

Yep, Robert Morrow a Ron Paul supporter took out an add to try and get Perry sex dirt and Larry Flynt offered a million dollars for any sex dirt on Perry.

Yes, but such payments can be expected to haunt the executive in question if said executive runs for public office. Also, that this is two of them, not just one, makes it tougher.

You’re right, we don’t know from the settlement how innocent or guilty his actions may have been. But it’s gotta hurt him.

And the more it looks like the leak comes from the Perry camp the less likely it will help him.
