NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) -- The director of a Christian music tour on Tuesday gave an impassioned plea to a jury to spare the life of a Connecticut man convicted of killing a woman and her two daughters, saying the man is remorseful and will someday need to explain his actions to his own daughter.
Mark Middlebrooks testified Tuesday in the sentencing phase of Joshua Komisarjevsky that Komisarjevsky was an "outstanding" member of the group, which traveled the United States and Western Europe in 1997 when he was about 17. Komisarjevsky worked as a lighting technician for the group.

I agree, the killer has value as worm bait. Bury him alive so he can have a little more time to be remorseful.
Smoke this guy.....who cares how he sings?
Voltage testers do have value.
No, Middlebrooks, His life has no value. And neither does yours.`
For each and everyone of us, actions have consequences...so does this killer’s. By his actions, he deserves the ultimate penalty. End of subject.
“Value”? MAYBE as a deficit. In the negative, sub-par,
worthless or worse...sub-human, if you will.
Gotta scrape that sh*t off of the shoes of civilization and polite society and carry on.
It wouldn’t be the first time and it won’t be the last.
No it doesn’t.
Yeah, give his brain to science. See if they can figure out what went wrong in it.
That “Christian” ought to brush up on Scripture:
“Whosoever shall shed man’s blood, his blood shall be shed: for man was made to the image of God. “—Genesis 9:6
Well of course it does. If he doesn't have AIDS, hepatitis or some other prohibitive disease, they could harvest his organs, blood and body parts.
They they could take what was left over, let it dry and use it as fuel to heat a homeless shelter for an evening.
Just think how much good that would do for society.
Having been abused as a child does not make a monster less of a monster. Until we can use the wayback machine to change the past the monstrosity of the monster is cannot be altered.
I beliê in life sentences for such as this person, short life sentences, no more than 90 days.
Pretty harsh.
How's about 30 days in the electric chair?
“Josh’s life has value because I know who he is beneath all the circumstances,” Middlebrooks said, adding Komisarjevsky has a responsibility to seek redemption.
Middlebrooks also said Komisarjevsky will need to answer to his 9-year-old daughter someday when she asks, “What the hell were you thinking?”
Then this piece of trash, Josh, says he blames the father for not fighting harder.
God, how can one write music when one’s head is so far up where the sun does not shine???
Of course this Music Director fails to ask the question- The two victims that this creep burned alive will never get to have children let alone ask them a question.
This buffoon will always be a buffoon whos music I will never listen to. Sorry, I’m for an “eye for an eye” on this one- Burn them both.
I’m thinking...prep him for surgery, give him a general anesthetic, and then just take him apart.
Ah, another fake Christian who thinks that the Gospel is about the warm fuzzies. Why was this queen allowed to even speak at this hearing?
Absolutely. What this singer is promoting is easy believism, which has nothing to do with Christian doctrine. First of all, it’s none of this guy’s business. It is up to those who were harmed to forgive, by God’s grace. Forgiveness, though, does not mean a person does not pay the consequences for his actions. The state must execute him for justice to prevail.
I agree, his life has value. But it is just enough to pay for his crime with it.
Seriously, how can any “christian” be so insensitive to the horror that this man committed? Seriously.
But send him to God. He will know how to value his life.
Don’t the lives of the victims have value?
I just checked Science’s calendar. I think they can fit him in Friday afternoon at 3:30.
You convinced me. Burn them than bury them alive.
It infuriates me when third parties want to “forgive” crimes they had no involvement with. Ultimately it’s nothing more than cheap self-aggrandizement, a way to make themselves feel morally superior.
Let the mutilated surviving father of the two girls murdered by this swine ask for forgiveness if he can. Otherwise, shut up.
I am sure once his life had value. Now it has none.
I remember this horrible crime.
Yes, as a believer, I know that this man’s life does have value; he was created by God. However, he chose to take the lives of others in a most heinous act and, therefore, must forfeit his life.
What Middlebrooks needs to care about is Komisarjevsky’s soul. There have been murderers who faced their sinfulness and repented before God only because they were to be executed.
His life LOST value when he took the lives of those 3 lovely family members. Too bad we can’t kill him 3 times!
Remember this name: JOHN CHRISTOFFERSEN, of the Associated Press.
This is probably the poorest written piece I’ve ever read from the AP. Either John Christoffersen is in grade school or some editor mangled his article. It dives into incoherency a couple paragraphs down and then sinks into an explosion of disjointed idiotic quotes from what appear to be morons who think they’re helping the murderer at sentencing.
One laughable moment in this funhouse (you can’t make this stuff up, folks): “[The prosecutor, I think, but who knows from this tightly written, well organized piece] cited earlier testimony by [the murder’s] sister that he [I believe he means the murderer but I’m not 100% sure] feels sorrow for the killings, but blames the sole survivor, Dr. William Petit, for not doing more to help his family.”
The whole thing is worth reading not only for the poor writing, but some of the quotes from those who are ostensibly there to help the murderer are bizarre. For instance, apparently the murderer was banging his own sister for a couple of years, but maybe he was only doing it probably because they had a foster child in their house who abused him. So says the murderer’s sister. Oh, and the parents were Christian so that is a terrible burden to grow up under, no wonder he turned out to be a monster.
And there’s more, much more. Enjoy!
His organs have value. His life is a net negative by a whole lot.
Isn’t this the a-hole who, with an accomplice, raped and murdered the mother and two girls, then set them on fire? From what I recall, at least one of the girls was still alive when she was set on fire. I say this guy’s got some value. He should be used as kindling at the next Guy Fawkes Night bon fire.

Since he has experience with lighting he'd make a fine human torch, then.
Amen to that!
