CBS: Herman Cain waived confidentiality: accuser's lawyer
CBSNews ^ | November 1, 2011 | Jan Crawford

(snip)

But Joel Bennett, the lawyer for one of the accusers, who is a married federal employee who lives in Maryland, told CBS News today that his client is telling the truth.

"I wouldn't characterize it as an ax to grind," Bennett said. "I'm sure she feels as though she wasn't treated properly by Herman Cain."

But Bennett said said he does not remember the specific allegations, or what kind of settlement they eventually reached.

"I reference this lady's height," Cain said. "And I was standing near her and I did this, saying 'you're the same height as my wife.'"

Bennett said Cain was talking about the case of another woman, not his client. But Bennett said now that Cain is talking about specifics, the confidentiality agreements may no longer be binding.

"I think the National Restaurant Associaion ought to waive the confidentiality and non-disparagement provisions and let the two women, if they choose to do so, come forward and tell their stories so that it can get a complete public airing," Bennett said.

Cain did not break the confidentiality agreement.

The person that leaked the info to Politico did.

If the National Enquirer gets hold of this can of worms, they may run it for all its worth.

is likely to be a liberal.

Such fine-toothed-comb detail. For a network that couldn’t reference Juanita Broaddrick’s lip, even once.

"I think the National Restaurant Associaion ought to waive the confidentiality and non-disparagement provisions and let the two women, if they choose to do so, come forward and tell their stories so that it can get a complete public airing," Bennett said.

And how long would it be and how much money would it take before the stories become nothing like the original events, shaped to become the narrative that the libtard media wants to present and smear Herman Cain with.

You could see this one coming a mile away. So, soon someone will offer one of (or both) thes women enough money and live time to "air" their grievances.

They will come out and try and refute everything Cain has said.

But the libs dont't get it.

They are preaching into and yelling into an almost empty echo chamber...theoir own voices coming back at them and not much more. The people who matter have already decided and are rallying to Cain's side and pouring more money into his campaign because they smell this rat and it stinks to high heaven.

Let 'em keep trying. They're just digging themselves a deeper hole.

Oh boy. Don't like the sound of this "other woman." Hope this thing blows over.

The Right actually expects moral behavior. The Left expects moral behavior too - but only from the Right.

This sure does take me back. I guess they figured that they waited too long in 1991.

Lets say this is the case. Then could the case also be made that this woman is waiving the confidentiality agreement for similar episodes she has had with other companies and organizations?

Does she want to open up that can of worms if we find out she does this with many, if not most of her employers?

ANY man in a leadership position in corporate America has a large target on his back.

Cain needs to won up if there’s any to be done, but what about Obama? Is there credible evidence about these allegations of his homosexual behavior and cocaine use in 1999?

As said before Herman may not be a party to the lawsuit so there is no confidentiality to lose.

Herman Cain has prevailed over poverty, cancer, racial discrimination, and corporate America.

Will he prevail over Big Brother and his ruthless Propaganda Machine?

If not--he is too good for America.

The monies are paid with the understanding of a confidentiality agreement. I suspect the lawyer is just trying to get his 15 minutes of fame by even discussing this.

Perhaps the lawyer should be fined the amount of the settlement whose confidentiality was breached and be debarred from further practice in the legal profession.
