A poll released Wednesday puts Herman Cain ahead of Mitt Romney by seven percentage points in the presidential race, reflecting a margin wider than the sampling error.

Only 3% of blacks like Cain.
That is because they are slow on the uptake. That figure will rise once Cain is actually nominated.
exactly...I use to shoot with a conservative talking black guy who got ticked off at me for suggesting that Obama was a Marxist...he emailed me that I have to vote for the Brother....well if there is a REAL brother up against this mulatto scum of a _resident...there will be more conservative Blacks voting for Cain than zer0.
I was talking w/ a nice older black couple yesterday at my work — they’d heard of Cain, but didn’t know much about him, adding they just “weren’t really paying attention” yet. A LOT of people are like this and are not political junkies like many of us here. (Hard to understand, but true) They’ll pay attention probably NEXT SUMMER before the election ...
The money and support is pouring in for Herman Cain, but we cannot slow down now. Please help him by donating at http://www.hermancain.com/
Also to help join the buzz about Herman go to facebook.com and like him. In just the last week he has jumped 13% or 42000 with an impressive 10,000 in the last 24 hours. Make no mistake Karl Rove is watching Hermans likes and so is Romney who gained just 1500 since last Tuesday. THIS is the way to stick it to the GOP establishment! Please tell your family and friends to like Herman as well.
It’s really interesting to see them twist themselves in pretzel knots to say that Cain’s popularity is BECAUSE conservatives are racist.
But one of his employees smokes!!!!
I love your idea of the response “So”?, Yaelle.
Clinton, Edwards, and Teddy are money in the bank.
———Did he do a good enough job?——
I guess time will tell. My assessment is like yours.
I think he was thinking when he was rambling.
It was a tough crowd. Charles made it tough so it would be tough and not pandering. I would not do nearly as well.
Proves it has nothing to do with race for them, it has to do with freebies.
BTW, this was the same basic question he got from Romney at the last debate (he bungled that one also...responding with the apples and oranges retort).
If his plan replaces some hidden Federal taxes buried in the retail price of a product such that the end result is a lower overall tax, he needs to say so clearly and concisely.
I think it all depends on your predilection going in. I’m not a Cain guy for a variety of reasons and I thought Cain was meandering all over the place and basically looked like he was winging it the whole time and seemed uncomfortable. People who love Cain would think he did great no matter what.
All that talk about blacks deserting Obama is just that... talk. They arent going anywhere.
You could be right. But the last poll where I looked at internals showed Romney and Perry both got 3% of the black vote, but Cain got 6% of the black vote. And the number of blacks who said "never heard of him" was also significantly higher for Cain than for Romney or Perry.
Given that most blacks are Dems, they aren't even paying attention to our race yet. So they haven't heard of him, haven't heard his message, and probably don't even realize a real black man is running for President.
Cain comes from a very large black church in Georgia, where he is very well respected. He also had a radio program for years. So he can reach into the black audience -- when the time is right -- whereas Romney or Perry cannot. That doesn't mean they will vote for him, but it means his message can be heard, so there is at least a CHANCE he can pull some of the black vote.
As proof that the Dems hardly know who Cain is (I don't mean political junkies like we all are, I mean the average citizen on the street). My buddy talked to a die-hard liberal yesterday who is a receptionist in a major company (even with her blue hair and tattoos). He brought up Cain and his smoking man video. She looked it up on YouTube. As she was searching for the smoking video, she said all she knew about Cain was that he got his 9-9-9 plan from a video game, and there's some allegation of sexual harassment. When the video of Mark Block came up on the screen, she said, "Is that him?" Referring to Mark Block. SHE DID NOT EVEN KNOW HERMAN CAIN WAS BLACK.
So you may be right. They may stay on the plantation. Or some of them may realize "How's that workin' for ya?" and go a different route. Reagan did. Perry did. Cain did. Lots of people eventually wake up and smell the roses -- and it ain't on the Dem side of the street.
Disclaimer: I don't have time this morning to look at the internals on THIS poll.
As long as Cain gets the independent vote, he’s golden. The other factor is the expected enthusiasm on the part of the Black voters. Will they turn out for Obama again after his lack of performance?
> Obama is not even an African American.
There are valid questions as to whether 0bamao is American at all.
Even worse, while Mr. Cain is the descendant of African slaves, 0bamao is very likely the descendant of African slave TRADERS.
African Mahometans started and continue to run the African slave trade.
0bamao’s father was an African Moslem.
If anybody is a traitor to their race, it is those who participated in or benefited from the selling of their own race into slavery.
He was winging it.
The comparison with him who wings it and Obama who is incapable of thinking on the spot is immense.
I see no problem with winging it. That is the way it should be. Pumping constant scripted statements is anathema to me.
He was not uncomfortable, he was having a great time enjoying a great opportunity.
A open letter to Herman Cain Supporters,
What is it with you Cain People? Isnt it clear by now that your candidate is just Mitts stalking horse?
Sure he is up in all the polls, but those polls mean nothing. Besides PMS-NBC and The New York Slimes says Cain is just a poor Minstrel putting on a show for Redneck Racist Terrorist that make up the Teabagger party. I mean gosh darn it didn’t you see Karl Rove’s whiteboard the other day! The man is a genius! You need to listen to him, he knows far better what’s good for you than even you do!
Face it there is little difference between the Cain and Mitt, why Cain even supported Mitt in 2008!
Have you Cain people no shame? Doesn’t it embarrassed you you that your candidate is little more that Mitts errand boy? Everyone knows that even should Cain win with 51% of the delegates he will just turn them over to Mitt.
Clearly you are embarrassing yourself and the Republican Party with your support of a man who is blatantly using the nominating process to sell books and get a nice cushy job on Fox.
How can you take Cain seriously? The man has no money? How can he run a serious campaign when he has no slush fund to pay bribes and hush money from? So Cain raised $400,000 in a day, why a couple of the real candidates spent more than that decorating their tour bus, heck some of the candidates wifes spend that much shopping for accessories. I expect that any day now Cain will have to start delivering pizzas just to make ends meet.
Sure Cain has a plan, but its not a prefect plan and yes its easy to understand and yet you dont understand thats part of what is wrong with Cains plan! Mitt has shown that a good tax plan can not be printed on anything less than whole forest worth of paper. And that we dont need to understand a plan, because we will be told whats in it by our high dollar accountants once its past. And then there’s all his ‘misspeak’, at the rate stuff spills out of his mouth he’ll soon be the laughing stock of all 57 states, don’t you understand facts are stupid things and Cain’s constant string of misspeak is a big f***ing deal. You don’t see anyone else doing it do you? I mean I don’t want to be heartless here, but clearly Cains statements are making the Republican party a laughingstock all the way from Wasilla to Russia.
Now we are finding out that Cain is a randy old goat chasing women right and left and who wants a President that can’t keep his pants up? Do you want that kind of behavior in the Oval Office?
Lastly I must ask you do you Cain supporters know that Cain has horns and a tail?
For the good of the party and the country please help us get Cain out of the race and allow the only person that can beat Barack Obama, (Fill in this Blank) to win the nomination.
If you doubt any of the claims I have stated just grab the nearest Romney, Perry or Paul supporter and they will be more than willing to verify all including the horns and tail thing.
Who cares? The white vote is far more important and Cain will take it by a wide margin.
My Obama countdown clock on my iphone, has it at 445 days, 1 hr, 59 mins, 30 secs and counting down until Cain is sworn in as President of the United States!
Yep, that's one of the most fun I've had in a long time watching this charade.
We are for Cain because he gives us cover for our racism, how in the hell does a human brain work that way, riddle me that, Batman.
I don’t think the attacks on Cain backfired. I think they had no effect. People are starting to realize that the mainstream media has a leftist bias and are simply tuning them out.
lol good graphic
BIG difference between the normal human brain and a liberal human brain! A liberal human brain is a vacuum...
The poll, taken almost entirely before reports emerged of sexual allegations against Cain, shows him leading in a hypothetical matchup against Romney, 47 percent to 39 percent.
Watching Herman being grilled can be a cringe inducing activity
He needs to be briefed by the rapid response team and have concise and intelligible answers ready at all times.
There's a long time to go. And there just aren't many blacks who follow the Republican primary process. I wouldn't have expected anything to change yet.
If he's nominated, then I'd look for some blacks to jump ship -- and we might not even know their intentions until the election's over. All he'd need would be 15% of the black vote and the Dems couldn't win.
It’s right here
I ordered three bumper stickers from a guy on eBay. Part of the proceeds go to Herman.
My Dad is going to love his. :)
Extremely interesting interview of former Dallas Cowboys great Emmitt Smith with Sean Hannity really gets into this topic.
and maybe we can get that horrible MLK rock thrown in the city dump too boot!
Read it. Know it. Share it. Link it. Its damning.
They should do a recognition poll in the black districts. I’ll bet a substantial portion of the residents there don’t know who Cain is. You are correct is saying Obama will still get the overwhelming share of the black vote in 2012. But Cain would make inroads. I’m guessing twenty percent. Don’t forget that even many Blacks know Obama has been a dismal failure. That won’t prevent most of them from voting for him, but it could switch enough votes to make a difference.
I think whenever white pols start preaching self-reliance to black audiences, they are largely tuned out without consideration. Cain would be different. Here is a black man who made it to the top of the corporate world without relying on government to get him there. He would still get a decided minority of the black vote, but he would probably get enough (20%) to make a difference.
Actually, the date will be Nov. 6. Nov. 2 will be a Friday next year.
Cain supported Clinton/Gore...he will NEVER get my vote. Clinton did a lot of damage and played a role in demoralizing the military...he even wrote a letter in his youth stating he loathed the military. I sat down and cried when Clinton won. Not to mention the two dems that Cain supported in Nebraska...bye Cain.
Rainbow Push Coalition knew him and supported him. He is probably as well known as Obama was among blacks
I did not like how Mr Cain waffled on Libya. He should have said straight out that the US had no business supporting the Islamist rebels.
I also did not understand his position on abortion.
I am a Cain supporter but he needs to get his act together. You can’t please everyone. He is the frontrunner now because people don’t trust Romney’s positions of convenience.
I believe you. A Cain presidency threatens a lot of powerful people. They will be slinging a lot more than pizza.
We desperately need to not engage. Herman can answer the questions to a point but he needs to show America that they are actively trying to hold him to a standard Barack doesn’t come close to meeting.
Investigate Donald young before you bring out a girl who might ave been offended years ago. Because Donald young lst his entire life. I don’t even think his mama got a severance.
Cain supported Clinton/Gore.. What year(s)? When doofus Dole ran against him?
Can you imagine how much more easily this would have gone for Cain if he’s just been honest?
“Yes, there were allegations, no there was nothing to them. We settled with them because it was frankly easier than to be dragged through the mud for the rest of eternity. Since then I’ve been careful to have witnesses around at all times, so that such allegations can’t even be made.”
THE NUMBERS ... In the 2008 Presidential Elections - whites made up 76.3% of the record 131 million people who voted in November’s presidential election, while blacks made up 12.1%, Hispanics 7.4% and Asians 2.5%. The white share is the lowest ever, yet is still higher than the 65.8% white share of the total U.S. population... http://pewresearch.org/pubs/1209/racial-ethnic-voters-presidential-election.
Black turn out for obama (in my opinion) will not be as large in 2012 compared to 2008. But it doesn’t matter. The black portion of the overall vote is not big enough to counter what I predict will be the largest White voter turnout in recent history for a Presidential election. The vast majority of energized white voters will be not voting for obama. And remember, 131 million voters turned out in 2008 out of a potential 208 million or so eligible voters. Meaning that 77 million people didn’t vote. The real solution to getting obama defeated in 2012 IS NOT TO PANDER to blacks or Hispanics - but to educated and energize the White voter portion of the 77 million who didn’t vote in 2008 to GET OUT AND VOTE against obama in 2012 - Plain and Simple...
thought it was when Bush 41 ran against him...but Dole or Clinton.. I would take Dole anyday. lame excuse to back Clinton
“Only 3% of blacks like Cain.
That is because they are slow on the uptake. That figure will rise once Cain is actually nominated.”
Sorry, don’t hold your breath waiting for the Black community to come out for Cain in any numbers.....
The black community has still yet to warm up to Clarence Thomas......One our nation’s finest jurists.
Clarence Thomas is Conservative.....
Herman Cain will be equally ignored/villified......
Herman Cain is Conservative........
Being black only counts if you are left of Liberal...... Otherwise you’re nothing but an Uncle Tom........
You are excusing Cain’s vote for Clinton? unbelievable..and NO it was not against Dole ..it was against Bush 43
Lol...didn’t ya hear...a vote for Clinton in 1992 is now “cool”...
You might be right, and I can not argue differently from hard facts in hand.
I am not really looking for large numbers of Black community to come out for Mr Cain. In the primaries the numbers may be very small and in the general election any thing approaching or exceeding 10% will make a difference.
It seems reasonable for 15% to vote for Mr Cain.
My take is that if any switch their vote coupled with those who will not be as excited and stay home, the total black vote for Obama will be significantly diminished
Any way, it will be interesting to see how it unfolds
F U N O V.
NO conservative would have voted for Clinton..ever.
