Third former worker says Cain behaviour ‘inappropriate’
Toronto Star ^ | Published 15 minutes ago | Toronto Star/AP

Posted on 11/02/2011 1:35:14 PM PDT by tcrlaf

WASHINGTON—A third former employee says she considered filing a workplace complaint over what she considered aggressive and unwanted behaviour by Republican candidate Herman Cain when she worked for the presidential candidate in the 1990s. She says the behaviour included a private invitation to his corporate apartment.

She worked for the National Restaurant Association when he was its head. She told the Associated Press that Cain made sexually suggestive remarks or gestures about the same time that two co-workers had settled separate harassment complaints against him.

The employee described situations in which she said Cain told her he had confided to colleagues how attractive she was and invited her to his corporate apartment outside work. She spoke on condition of anonymity, saying she feared retaliation.

Cain’s campaign declined to comment.

And not a SINGLE cry of "RACISM!!!!" from all of the usual suspects. How very strange, indeed.

Was there a big sale on Anita Hill masks this Halloween? Seems a lot of women are wearing them.

This makes me sick.

Just another reason I hate that Palin decided not to run... they’d already thrown everything in the book at her, and nothing stuck (in spite of their childish insistence to the contrary).

This crap might stick.

So... what’s going to happen? Do we need to see each of our candidates destroyed one-by-one... if not by our other candidates, than by a bunch of scum-sucking leftist slime, aided and abetted by the mainstream media?

So we’re gonna wake up one day and find no one left standing except the candidate the powers-that-be demand be on our ticket (and you all know who THAT is).

Can’t we just wipe the friggin’ slate clean and find ANOTHER half dozen people? Kind of like kicking nitwits off of a jury, and choosing another? NONE of these people are really acceptable. NONE OF THEM.

>:-(

I took over a department years ago, and had a woman working for me - in a staff position. She was incompetent, and the people she was assigned to support did not want her to talk to anyone in their department.

She was Jewish. For Christmas, I made Irish shortbread as a gift for everyone in the department. I gave her a batch, and she ate most of it that day. I also sent her a card, acknowledging she didn't celebrate Christmas, but I wanted to share the spirit of the season.

When I eventually fired her, in her lawsuit she brought this up as being somehow 'offensive' and religious discrimination. Our Human Resources department eventually settled with her. Just to get her to go away.

This happens all the time. There is no 'there' there.

Typical.

The libs and MSM are looking for and manufacturing blood in the water and paying for anyone who will step up and take the hook.

Annonymous, I thought about it 25 years ago...but didn;t do it. Right.

I'm sticking with Herman Cain and will send him more money.

Private invitation could mean anything. This could be anything from asking her to drop off files to letting her know the apartment was available if she needed it.

If he was this fast and loose, their has to be some female who took him up on the invitation. Where are they?

True enough, maybe she wanted to do the boss in order to get ahead and he said no. A woman scorned and all that. At best we have a he said she said situation, but knowing the way the laws are set up it is more likely gold diggers looking for more.

yawn.... No oral/anal contact or cigar insertions like clinton? (Starr Report) No visits to to witnesses resulting in slashed tire and dead pets? No phone calls at 2am to inform a girlfriend that another witness’s “brother had just been killed in a hit and run and BTW you are now a witness against me”? No audio tapes that are attacked as fake by a private-eye who is later arrested for witness intimidation and is found to have C-4 explosives and hand grenades in their safe? The same private eye is said to have been good at making murder look like suicide in the court case against him? No rape allegations or suggestions that a rape victim put some ice on her bit lip?

Under the law your worst case scenario does not constitute sexual harassment. It is a nonevent, unless he tried to coerce her or offer a quid pro quo, or ignored her refusal and pressed the issue.

This "third woman" is a fraudulent smear. Probably no such person exists.

So far we have three potential “allegations.”

One is a woman that Cain supposedly told was as tall as his wife. Why this is even mentioned is beyond me. If that’s going to get him in to trouble then you might as well never speak to women about anything at any point in time.

Two, in the worst case, is as described in 24. In the likely case, it is nothing.

Three is unknown, and also likely nothing.

I suspect that all of this is nothing.

The money and support is pouring in for Herman Cain, but we cannot slow down now. Please help him by donating at http://www.hermancain.com/

Also to help join the buzz about Herman go to facebook.com and “like” him. In just the last week he has jumped 13% or 42000 with an impressive 10,000 in the last 24 hours. Make no mistake Karl Rove is watching Herman’s “likes” and so is Romney who gained just 1500 since last Tuesday. THIS is the way to stick it to the GOP establishment! Please tell your family and friends to “like” Herman as well.

This is really getting ridiculous. Isn't it funny that if, just if, Cain was the type that was chasing after women, that no woman ever accepted his invitations? I mean, gee, he was a wealthy, powerful man. There would have been at least one woman who would have been happy to be engaged with him in some way. But none. There have not been any women who can substantiate that they had any type of illicit relationship or spent any time alone with Cane. None of these women seem to have been interested. They can only claim, and make vague statements about some supposed words or gestures that made them feel "uncomfortable." That, in itself, makes the stories suspect.

This is all a lot of dust being flung to cloud up Cain's wholesome, moral record. Obviously they have nothing really serious to use to detract from his honorable character, so they are trying to create chaos and keep him off balance and off the important issues.

I like to put a face on these people who are accusing Herman Cain of doing something inappropriate.

While we’re at it, let’s get to specifics, EXACTLY what did he do that was inappropriate?

Let’s see EXACTLY what he did before we can determine whether or not it was inappropriate...

All we have now are murky accusations, that’s all.

I view it differently. I think we’re seeing, finally, the utter rejection of the demrat pols (including Perry and Romney) and their politics of personal destruction tactics.

But this is not only about Cain. It is about us, too. We must stand up for this man. The way to do that is to send him money. Just sent him $25. Wish it could have been more. In any case, every time Perry, Romney and their demrat controller scum invent a new scandal I’m sending Cain more money.

We are in a final fight for the soul of our country. Anybody that doesn’t get that gets nothing. If you can do nothing else send Mr. Cain money—now. You can make a difference.

IIRC For something to be considered sexual harassment, an “offer” such as “you wanna come to my private mansion and get freaky”? Has to be declined and told to stop, if it stops, no harm done, if it continues then it is sexual harassment. I could care less if he asked her to his private residence, if she said no, don’t ask me again and it stopped, there is no big deal, hypothetically. These reports are false anyway, and everyone sees through this as a terribly planned and executed fake hit piece.
