Him and Romney, Cain has not handled this nonsense well that is obvious. I dont know if Perry is involved or Rahm the dirtbag but the news has been hurting Cain regardless of the polls. The attacks should be on mr obama but that strategy is long gone

Shouldn't you put "PERRY 2012" in your tagline since you are the unofficial representative for the Perry Campaign on FR?

That 'everyone' must be YOU..

..because there are significant numbers of voters who see it as an obvious dirty trick to get rid of Cain.

“Red China not a nuclear power?”

Debunked lie.

Some are repeating it as fact, because they can’t be bothered doing a few SECONDS of typing in a search engine.

“Herman Cain spent the Vietnam war evaluating the capabilities of the Chinese to deliver a nuclear weapon onto the heads of our forces in South Vietnam.

He examined the test launches of the Dongfeng 1 (SS-1) and plotted out the trajectories for a 500kg warheads.

When China started testing the Dongfeng 2 (CSS-1) Cain plotted out the trajectories and capabilities of it’s delivery of 15 kiloton nuclear weapons.

Both of these missiles were provided to the PRC by the Soviets, Cain analysed data from the Russian test launches and determined the risk to U.S. troops in SE Asia.

Cain also observed the development of China’s first domestically produced missile, Dongfeng 3 (CSS-2) and plotted out it’s use with China’s 15-20KT fissile devices as well as China’s new thermonuclear devices.

Finally, Cain was involved in the determination that China’s Dongfeng 4 (CSS-3) was capable of delivering both fissile and thermonuclear devices to both Moscow and Guam as well as cover the entire deployment of U.S. forces in SE Asia.

Cain is well aware of China’s nuclear missile capability, the only reasonable conclusion is that Cain was indeed referring to China’s attempts to develop and sail their first nuclear aircraft carrier and their attempts to develop more dangerous nuclear cruisers.”

I think a wiser politician would have handled these allegations in a better way, and time would have been on his side. The issue would have faded by itself, but when Cain changed his story and then placed the blame on Perry’s camp - he gave it new life. I think it will be his undoing. I’m glad it’s coming out now so that we can get this out of the way.

This is the big leagues and we can’t afford to have amateurs on the team. I’m glad Perry has remained above the fray, he’s only had nice things to say about Cain all of this time - too bad the same can’t be said the other way around.

Do you remember who posted the tweets before they were washed from the tweet site? I thought it was Tokoyo - I wish I would have cached those.

No one in the MSM seemed to catch them or just ignored that fact!

The accusations are then "validated" by more hear say accusations by third party sources linked to other GOP campaigns. Most notably third party sources specifically tied to Perry's campaign.

Only one of the people accused by Cain to be leakers has "validated" the allegations, by saying he witnessed one incident. The other man, Curt Anderson - denies knowing anything about it - which totally contradicts Cain's story that he "briefed" Mr. Anderson about the allegations back in 2004 when Anderson was working for Cain (which, interestingly - totally contradicts Cain's own earlier recollection that at first he didn't remember any of it). So, someone is not telling the truth there. I think Cain is handling this badly - he threw gasoline on the fire - Perry's camp has completely denied Cain's charges.

It's now up to Cain to prove his slanderous charges.

And not to single out Cain, here, but he seems to know shockingly little about foreign affairs (Pali "right-of-return"? Red China not a nuclear power?).

Did Rick Perry know about the right of return? Probably not. Cain admitted he didn't know, but he found out. Does it matter? Not at all. Perhaps that's why Cain said he would choose "someone like John Bolton" as SOS - to tell the Pails to screw off on non-issues like that.

As far as the Chinese nuke thing, the people who helped the Left spread that nonsense feel pretty foolish now.

“The 1st source to “validate” these these hearsay claims for the Junk Media is a pollster who works for a Perry pac. Perry’s Arizona State Coordinator was tweeting about this smear before the story broke.”

One of the first RINO’s to criticize Cain was Michael Steele. Before jumping Steele’s ship at the RNC, Curt Anderson considered Steele a personal friend of 15 years.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0309/19784.html

Adviser: Steele overhauling GOP

By CURT ANDERSON | 3/9/09 4:59 PM EDT

Curt Anderson is a partner at OnMessage Inc, a Republican media and polling firm. He is a top adviser to Chairman Steele and has been Steele’s personal friend for 15 years.

http://www.mediaite.com/online/michael-steeles-karl-rove-curt-anderson-cuts-ties-with-rnc/

(Curt) Anderson, who had played a central role in Steele’s surprise victory last January, had stepped back from day-to-day involvement with the RNC several months ago — leaving McKay as the lone voice of opposition to the chairman, according to several informed sources.

Politico’s Jonathan Martin has a statement from Anderson about his decision:

Ken McKay’s departure is a huge loss for the Republican Party,” Anderson said in a statement to POLITICO. “Ken steered the party through very successful elections last fall that have given us tremendous momentum. He’s a great talent. Given our firm’s commitments to campaigns all over the country we have concluded it is best for us to step away from our advisory role at the RNC. We have high personal regard for the Chairman and always have; we wish him well.

City strikes deal to keep restaurant show
Financial package worth $2 million comes after group reschedules to avoid NATO, G-8 summits

July 27, 2011|By Kathy Bergen, Tribune reporter

The National Restaurant Association announced Tuesday it will keep its show in Chicago next year, but it will move the dates to avoid overlap with the NATO and G-8 summits.

The high-profile show will be held May 5-8, rather than May 19-22, at McCormick Place, where it has been a fixture since 1950.

The decision was made after Chicago came forward with a one-time financial package aimed at reducing some losses that could occur due to the schedule change. The association, the city’s convention bureau and the mayor’s office declined to discuss the specifics of the deal.

The package is worth about $2 million and includes public and private funding sources, according to sources close to the deal. That total includes noncash items, such as marketing and attendance-building services that the bureau often provides to trade shows, sources said.

(snip)

Mary Pat Heftman, executive vice president of convention for the restaurant association, said Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the convention bureau “worked to mitigate potential losses” and pledged to help drive attendance on the new dates.

Emanuel helped to bring NATO and the leading industrial nations to Chicago using his influence as a former White House chief of staff, and he found himself scrambling to ease the resulting timing conflict.

Losing the restaurant show, even for one year, would have been a public relations nightmare for the city, which is racing to recover from a federal court ruling tossing out labor-rule changes aimed at reducing exhibitors’ costs.

The restaurant show is one of the city’s largest, this year drawing 58,000 attendees who packed hotels and restaurants, and generated an estimated $93.3 million in spending. It typically is the big game in town during its run.

"Way to let them manipulate you...."

You missed my whole point - you are "all in" for Herman Cain, good for you - I'm stll kicking the tires on several candidates and it infuriates me to see them all slapping each other around.
I am not "anti-Cain", I'm just not "all in" for him - I like Bachmann and Perry, too (and Gingrich and Santorum) - but none are without faults - just like Herman.
Does that make me a GOP Machine "dupe"? Get a grip, man!

Here is the big question I have about the whole rotten thing.

If Anderson is "such a long time and close friend of Herman, worked for him on past campaigns and thinks so highly of him", then why in the hell is he working on the staff of one of the main competitors of Herman Cain!!?? That dog don't hunt. Hmmm....Somebody (I suspect) is in this for payback or revenge of some sort. Also, much like a black ops, you damned well can be sure they are going to construct a denial policy from the start if they get busted to avoid blowback, and establish plausible deniability. However, with citizen sleuthers on the internet, or making some calls around town, believe me the TRUTH of this SMEAR and its GENESIS is going to come out in no time at all. Pity the poor souls who will have to bear the brunt of it all.

It will be (it will blow over) if Mr. Cain is VERY CALM, COOL and most importantly PATIENT, goes into Battle Dress mode, pivots and redirects the narrative. Difficult but do-able. Also, the drive by news cycle will change within a week. Furthermore, the real cream on the top of the pie, an Israeli attack on Iran and/or a European economic crash, most likely to occur now soon I am hearing, is going to wipe all of this off the front page quicker than you can say Jim Thompson. In the meantime, Camp Herman will continue to be raising money and holding their own in the polls I suspect. They just have to hang in there for the long term, the pack of rabid dogs will move on to something else. Their readership and listeners will grow tired of the story.

As a Palin supporter who is now searching for the "next best thing", I have every right to "kick the tires" and ruminate on all of the remaining candidates' strengths and flaws, rather than just jump head-over-heels for someone.
To imply that I'm some kind of "tool" or "dupe" is slanderous coming from kindred Freeper spirits.

Like I had previously replied: "I read the scoop on Herman's Chinese nuke "gaffe" - and can see that he knows much more than he first let on - but he's got to articulate that from the get-go, he needs to be quicker on his feet or the Zero and MSM will bury him - not good for Herman or the US."

It's November 2011! Debate prep is 10 months away. At this point in 2007, It was Giuliani and Fred Thompson leading the GOP race. Plenty of time. Everyone - including the panicky Cain campaign - needs to chill out.

Cain should not have ‘gone there’ with the Perry accusations. He has been a sympathetic character in this story, the victim of a smear, so what does he do, he smears another candidate with nothing but speculation. Not smart.

The fact that the Wilson fellow does polling for a PAC that supports Perry means nothing. He was questioned as a former employee of the NRA, not as a Perry pollster. It’s common for experts in the various aspects of campaigns to work for one candidate in one election cycle, and for another candidate in the next. Those experts constitute a limited universe. These are purely business arrangements; seldom is there any personal or ideological connection. Or loyalty.

Similarly, a $1K donation by Anderson to Romney means nothing. People who make their living in politics automatically have a percentage of their income set aside for political contributions, and often they cover all their bases. I believe I read/heard that he also donated to Cain.

None of that, and all that is known as of today, creates a connection between whoever did leak the story to Politico and any other campaign. These dots do not connect.

Too many people in DC knew this story long before last Sunday. I was told by a Democrat friend two weeks ago that then-unspecified “stuff” was going to come out about Cain. If that person knew, you can bet your bottom dollar that there are dozens of people who knew. For all I know, it was that person who ‘leaked’ the open secret to Politico.

Cain’s and his campaign’s attacks on Perry are pure speculation, totally unwarranted with what is known now, and do not reflect well on him and his ability to face controversy if he wants to be POTUS. He’d better get his act together, and fast.

Did Rick Perry know about the right of return? Probably not.

Probably so considering he's been a stauch friend to Isreal since 1998 and has been working with Israel on water and agriculture issues actively since then. Before you try to smear someone, it's best to get your facts straight.
