Excellent news. Of course, Romney is as upset as Obama is.

Kasich should have a press conference in the am and announce 15% employee layoff because the money doesn’t exist to pay union thugs retirements and health care. I heard your vote. Congratulations, unemployment is better than a job anyway.

Wait a minute people. There is another side at that negotiating table. Somebody has to approve any contract, right? Am I right?

Sure there is, and in many cases the union is setting on both sides of the bargaining table.

Take school teacher contracts for example. Most school administrators are former teachers that are covered by the same contracts that are being voted on. The school boards in most states are made up of nothing but teachers, former teachers, and wives/husbands of teachers.

School board elections are in most cases held in off years or in spring when there is nothing else on the ballot.

The deck is stacked so hard against the taxpayers that teachers unions can get anything they want.

OHIO PINGS - “0bamacare” REJECTED!

http://www.wcpo.com/dpp/news/political/elections_local/voters-decide-on-Issue-3

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Voters in Ohio have approved a ballot measure intended to keep government from requiring Ohioans to participate in any health care system.

The constitutional amendment passed is largely symbolic, coming in response to the 2009 federal health care overhaul, a provision of which mandates that most Americans purchase health care.

Supporters hope it will prompt a challenge of the overhaul before the U.S. Supreme Court.

The tea party and Republican groups backing the amendment say the Affordable Care Act was an overreach by the Obama administration and Congress.

They hope approval of the ballot issue will bar Ohio from instituting a state-mandated health insurance program like that of Massachusetts.

Opponents argued state law can’t trump federal law and that the amendment’s wording could unintentionally jeopardize state health programs.

Ohio voters got one right at least.

Issue 2 the union ads were a disgrace and tugged at the hearts of the uninformed. My polling station the parking lot was full of off duty fireman and police passing out literature. They did a very poor job of getting out the yes vote, not once did I see a ad to vote yes :(

I stand by my original statement. The police and firefighters in Ohio have the same outrageous benefits and retirement packages that are bankrupting the state as other public workers in Ohio.

The rubber meets the road when the cities find out the state isn't sending the checks out. The layoffs will start next year and with them will go retirements and benees.

Greetings Recon Dad:

Of all fifty States, Wisconsin and Ohio were in financially the worst shape. Wisconsin saved the public pension system. Ohio, despite an insolvent public pension system, failed to act.

Dislike SB5? Next legislative round has to be worse.

Cheers,
OLA

Unions and liberals effectively “got out the vote” in Ohio and defeated the collective bargaining referendum.

However, despite large numbers of energized liberals and union thugs, they still rejected Obamacare’s individual mandate!

This is massive news that the nation hates Obamacare!

The media wants to paint this as proof the Tea Party is getting weak, but it actually shows the opposite.

I knew Issue 2 (union bargaining) was going down in flames, and expected Issue 3 (repeal of zerocare) to be brought down with it... It says a lot that voters (including the mass of Liberal union types who showed up for Issue 2) overwhelmingly upheld Issue 3 and defeated zerocare.

Yeah their ads were like,

“Nice house and family ya got there.
Would be a shame if somethin’ would happen to them.”

Geesh. Thuggery befitting the Bolsheviks of 1917.

No, the union sympathizers were on the other side of the table also. If your spending someone else's money, why would you force a strike? Just give them the money, it's not yours after all.

The reason for the trouble in the first place was Kasich didn't want to lay people off. The union said NO CUTS, even if it means lay offs. Kasich should start the line up for lay offs today to make his point. They voted for them.
