This lawyer Lin Wood is simply outstanding. His speech was short, to the point, concise, delivered without notes or teleprompter and EFFECTIVE! So you are right and I concur.

Good.

So others, like me, are seeing the seriousness of these "the sky is orange" charges for what they are.

GO CAIN!

Paperdoll, you might want to check on this article from October 30th of this year from the Washington Times regarding Scott MacKenzie and Jordan Gerke who are running “Friends of Herman Cain, Inc.”.

The link is http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/oct/30/operatives-raise-cash-for-cain-themselves/print/ .

Apparently they have collected lots and lots of money from conservatives for several campaigns (usually conservative candidates WITHOUT a strong campaign organization) and spend most of it going to companies they control.

According to the article the candidate gets money, but not as much as they would if you donated directly to the candidate. This group does run direct mailings, etc., but they are not affiliated with Cain’s campaign directly.

IOW they funnel money to their own companies on behalf of the candidate while giving some money directly to the candidate, but NOT giving all of it directly TO the candidate (in this case Cain) for the candidate to decide how to spend it.

Just check it out and if you don’t mind, let me know what you think. The following is a direct quote from the article:

“Even if it runs effective vote-getting efforts, it will almost certainly provide a comfortable source of income for Mr. Gehrke, Mr. Mackenzie and the political contractors they hire. The fund, with a logo whose largest words are “Herman Cain for President” - the name of the official campaign - likely will raise money that would have gone to the campaign itself, including from donors who think they’re giving to it.”

All the sites (including the one with the address you listed) show “Paid for by Friends of Herman Cain.”

I would like to send him some money, but I want to send it DIRECTLY to HIM so he can decide where he needs it most.

actually minnesota and missouri were mistakes, I was pullinng off the wrong graph those were guesses because they haven’t been polled since Cain’s surge if ever.

Louisiana Cain leads Romney in the latest poll from oct 14th, although if I remember right Perry was actually in first surprisingly there, but I don’t even follow Perry’s numbers anymore since he has zero chance.

With more attacks on Cain, the more popular he gets.

Newt was for mandates before he is against them. Newt was for man made global warming before he is against it. Newt is for comprehensive immigration reform which to me sounds like back door amnesty to illegals.

I am quoting above from memory of what I have read, so please do not demand links.

Having said above, Newt is to be admired for 1994. He would be an asset in any republican admin. He knows how congress works better than all other candidates running for president. But I am afraid to trust his instincts in the top position.

No worries. I’ve been following this pretty closely. I have the same states as you. :)

Yeah, I was a bit surprised by Perry’s strength in LA, and Gingrich’s strength in Mississippi. Cain has some weird strengths... Not very often you see a candidate winning in Maine, Hawaii, Texas, and Illinois, but not in Mississippi.

Sal - those men started “Americans for Herman Cain” (read the article you linked to)

Friends of Herman Cain, Inc. is official part of Cain’s campaign, http://www.hermancain.com and the iowa fund website ARE legitimate. Stockbridge is indeed the correct snail mail address to send donations too.

I sure hope you aren’t providing this incorrect information elsewhere!

Governor Jindal (just won re-election in a blow-out in LA) endorsed Perry which might explain it.

That combination hasn’t been seen since LBJ.

We might be in for a realigning election.

The only way I can see Gingrich taking the is if Cain imploded... and the only thing that could make Cain implode would be this sex scandal.. which would make the switch to Gingrich sort of weird since his how life is a documented sex scandal.

I honestly would be happy with either one, but my dream ticket at this point would be Cain/Gingrich

He’s technically never lost it! He was leading there back in March.

You can bet that Rassmussen did all they could to tone down Cain’s numbers too!

the weirdest poll i’ve seen recently is the one from today showing Romney leading in South Carolina... I just threw that out, since that can’t possibly be true, it just doens’t jive with a single other poll.

Read the link. It's from the Washington Times. And no, this is the first time I've posted it and if you'll notice I'm asking what the official site is because every different name I go to has "paid for by Friends of Herman Cain". I want to give him money and I want to be sure it goes directly to him, that's all

Do you have direct knowledge that they are an official part of his campaign? If so, good by me. Do you think the Washington Times is doing a Rove? Or maybe just got it wrong? I will tell you I couldn't find anything under several different names that did NOT say, "Paid for... etc." Maybe Cain has embraced them. They certainly are promoting donations.

...not, Friends of Herman Cain.

Thanks for pointing that out, Just.

There was another poll from ... I think it was Virginia from a week or two ago that showed Romney leading there too unexpectedly, I also ignored that one but if another poll comes out from that area with Romney doing well ... I might have to reconsider my outlier premise

>> “Could it be Sarah Palin? Only if Cain somehow manages to flame out. She could come into the race late and force a brokered convention. However, this is not the preferred scenario.” <<

.
If Palin was going to do it, she’d never have stepped aside.

She was in control if she wanted it, but someone convinced her that she didn’t.

I’d be happy with Cain/Gingrich. I like that ticket. Cain/somebody else makes me happy too.

Cain supporting states:

McCain/Obama

GA/SC/TX/NE/SD/WV/AZ/GA/SC
IL/HI/ME/WI/NC/VA/FL/IA/OH

This chart I think says everything.
