Jesse Jackson just spoke at the TB camp four days ago.
Public health officials in Atlanta confirmed today that the Occupy Atlanta camp has tested possitive for tuberculosis. CBS Atlanta reported:
The home base for Occupy Atlanta has tested positive for tuberculosis.
The Fulton County Health Department confirmed Wednesday that residents at the homeless shelter where protesters have been occupying have contracted the drug-resistant disease. WGCL reports that a health department spokeswoman said there is a possibility that both Occupy Atlanta protesters and the homeless people in the shelter may still be at risk since tuberculosis is contracted through air contact.
“Over the last three months were have been two persons who have resided in this facility who have been diagnosed with confirmed or suspected infectious tuberculosis (TB),” said Fulton County Services Director Matthew McKenna in a written statement to CBS Atlanta. “One of these persons was confirmed to have a strain of TB that is resistant to a single, standard medication used to treat this condition. All person(s) identified as positive have begun treatment and are being monitored to ensure that medication is taken as directed.”
The Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless has indicated that two cases have been made public knowledge to the group, the first coming from someone who contracted the disease in September. The identities of the people who have contracted the disease, however, have not been disclosed by the health department to this point.

This will kill folks with impaired immune systems, like folks with AIDS. This is actually a frightening scenario. Did anyone see “Contagion”? I remember that in San Francisco a while back, some health authorities wanted to force people with this form of TB to get treatment - but they decided that was a breach of patient rights.
Come quickly, Lord Jesus.
Good thing this country is a capitalist country. Without capitalism, the medicine they're going to need wouldn't have ever been invented. The scientists would have been sitting home waiting for their "fair share" check just like everyone else.
I hope they learn a valuable lesson from this.

Meanwhile, I’m just plain gloating — because I feel no sense of guilt for enjoying this entirely foreseeable turn of events.

It was inevitable. They've got every kind of weirdo in the country hanging around for the free rent, free food, easy sex, and totally awesome drugs.
Little do they realize, but this is the utopia they're protesting for! This, complete with it's plagues and street sewage, is a liberal heaven.
I suspect you can catch any kind of crud you can imagine there, most of it penicillin resistant.

Sadly, no. The incubation period is about six weeks.

TB and Whooping cough have been making a come back via unscreened entry of future dem voters.
So the left is self-destructing into insanity and instability,happens all the time in socialist movements.They get hopped up on something and end up taking the country by storm,mess everything up,start suffering from withdrawals and other effects then fail utterly.
It is the final stage of this particular “infection” playing out.
