My argument that parents are a fundamental force in their childrens lives? That what parents do and don’t do has a massive impact on children during their formative years. That the behavior of children as they transition into young adults is further subject to the influence of their parents.

We don’t know if the players did anything wrong or not. Although I expect that they all pretty much still idolize Paterno - and that IS wrong. Playing football today is a temple service to the Paterno/PSU/football god. That is wrong. What they should have done is walk away and not play. Same with the fans. That would show that they REALLY feel badly for the victims. Right now, though, they are all feeding the god of football.
The only way they DESERVE a win is that they play a better game of football today. Do you think then, that all of PSU’s teams from now to perpetuity should win then also?
One could just as easily say that Nebraska DESERVES to win today because they don’t have a coaching staff or university officials who have just been shown to be involved in a huge cover-up of a sexual predator.
I am sorry that you are hurting over this. I have always liked Penn State. BUT...a team doesn’t DESERVE to win because of anything else than they performed better than the other team(s) on that particular competition. My issue was with your use of the word “deserve”. Which, btw, you never addressed why you said that.

On the whole, they are. Pampered in my opinion. Pampered by their parents on the one side, and pampered by Government on the other.
I DO hold it against them because I know who and what has taught them and will be teaching them until they graduate. They are being brainwashed by ideologues and liars. Throw in some perverts while you’re at it too.

No - that is not better. Again, they don’t DESERVE anything - not any more than anyone else. Much less the victims. The players are not victims. Whether they (or you or other PSU supporters) realize it or not now, they ARE supporting the perverts and those that are covering up the perverts.
I don’t mean any offense to you, but the players and the Penn state fans are NOT the victims, but are just playing into the hands of the god of winning at all costs. The victims are those young boys who trusted someone, and the other victims are those who are appalled at what is happening as if someone got caught stealing a football.
Prayerfully, in time, those who are sticking up for Paterno and others will come to their senses. And then, they will also be victims.

Yes, it was a child, but the MSM has said it was child abuse...
If I may add, it was a homosexual rape of a little boy. Those boys were being forced into homosexuality as well as being sexually abused. Bet the coach was a board member of LAMBDA(?)—that men/boy love organization.
IMHO, the students and community should be grieving over the heinous acts that transpired there, not rioting over a firing or cheering at a football game.
