CHICAGO—The discovery that former Penn State University defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky has been molesting boys as young as 10 years old – and that university officials including head coach Joe Paterno did not do more to apprehend this predator – has shocked America. Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH), said the scandal exposes the continuing problem of homosexual predators in society. He offers the following observations related to the PSU scandal:

• Many openly homosexual (“gay”) men, like CNN anchor Don Lemon, were molested as boys or experienced abnormally early sexualization. Yet many of these same men do NOT see their boyhood victimization at the hands of homosexual male predators as causing their homosexuality. (This is due partly to the success of the modern “gay” movement that falsely ascribes “gayness” to a person’s (innate) identity, and emphasizes the ambiguous notion of “sexual orientation” as opposed to behavior that is sinful, destructive and changeable.)
• Thus, how many boy victims of homosexual predator Sandusky will end up believing that being homosexual (“gay”) is “who they are”? How many will struggle with sexual identity issues? And how many will be told by LGBT advocates and liberal-minded people just to “accept being gay” as “who they are” because they were “born that way”?

• Because the media and academia have largely become apologists for the modern homosexualist movement, they downplay or ignore obvious causative factors in the formation of “gay” identity – including pederastic molestation. CNN’s Lemon is a case in point: he is now an “out gay” celebrity, yet few question the absurdity of him not associating the molestation of his youth with his later embrace of homosexuality as a positive identity.
• There IS a long history connecting homosexuality to pederasty, and a disproportionate link between homosexuality and pedophilia: why else would so many child molestation victims be boys when only 1-3 percent of the population is homosexual? Since cases of women molesting boys remain rare, if homosexuality were not such a strong factor, nearly all of pedophile victims should be girls, which is far from the case.
• Sandusky is married but obviously has a homosexuality (perversion) problem. Yet pro-“gay” liberals will deny any linkage between homosexuality and Sandusky’s rape/seduction of boys. In fact, after news of the Penn State scandal came to light, “gay” activists stressed that Sandusky is married and that most pedophile cases involve “straight, married men.” However, behavior is what matters – not a person’s marital status or self-described “sexual orientation.” Sandusky was married but was he really “straight” (sexually or morally)? Some inner demons or life traumas – probably in his own youth – caused him to lust for boys, wrecking untold misery in the lives of his victims. Behavior is the issue, and this was a case of a serial homosexual predator raping boys.

Excellent point. All the questions you ask are not just about the “liberal” worldview, but about the worldview of anyone who takes a “libertarian” view of sexual activity.

Once sex outside normal marriage is accepted, there is no logical point for objection to any activity, other than the absence of physical force.

Lots of boys are very mixed up and unsure at that age—easy putty in the hands of a pederastic sodomite.

That doesn’t mean they were destined to by homosexual adults. They might have just needed a few more years to “man up.”

Pederasts steal that chance from these vulnerable kids.

I’ve been searching for the reason the old media has held on to this story. The homosexuals have everything they want now, except sympathy. Notice that it wasn’t the kids who brought this to the public’s attention. They don’t worry about the boys going public. Is this the first move in a sympathy campaign for homosexuals? Now that they have everything they want, homosexuality must no longer be viewed as a genetic condition. That would mean they’re ill and homosexuality could be fixed. Now it’s the feel sorry story. “Uncle Bob raped me when I was a boy. Don’t you feel sorry for me? I can’t help it. Give me your money.” I say, cut old Uncle Bob’s balls off and get some therapy. Oh, it was always just about the money. Sorry.

I would also suspect that a significant percentage of boys ( and very young teens) who are molested by adult women also have issues later in forming healthy relationships with women, in marriage, in the community, and on the job.

I am sad to see the flippant remarks made when the “hot teacher” articles are posted.

Remember the big “homosexuality is genetic” deal a decade back? It quietly went away down the memory hole, when studies of separated identical twins showed no correlation to later homosexuality. If it was genetic, there would have been a very high correlation.

And of course we can point to societies that culturally “groom” boys to be gay, such as in Samoa where the first boy is raised hetero, and the rest are raised homo. Most of the boys raised to be homo in fact do incline that way, proving the case of nurture over nature when it comes to homosexual inclinations.

True story- my freshman year of college (Mississippi State University, 1981), I went into the classical history museum they had with some ante-bellum columns outside (I'm a big Civil War buff and was wondering if they had some Civil War mementos). When I went in, I realized that it wasn't Civil War but ancient Egyptian and Greek artifacts. A professor comes up to me and starts talking to me about how the Ancient Greek professors would take a student as their protege' and show them the ways of not only philosophy and science, but of love as well.

I ran out of that place as fast as I could. Over the years, I wonder if some young, vulnerable, lonely, stupid 18-19 year old kid went in there, that this or some other professor molested.

I do know that sadly many of those molested will end up molesting as adults. Therefore a Don Lemon may be homosexual but he may also end up molesting children.

I’ve heard surveillance tapes of pedophiles talking about how much they want to be exactly like the adult who molested them, praising the way their molester was heartless and striving to molest kids with just as little remorse. Very chilling stuff.

Most pedophiles are stuck on a certain age group and are distinct from adult leaning homosexuals. They lose interest once the kid moves beyond their target age.

I do know one adult gay male who was attacked as a teen...he said he was around 16 when it occurred and the attacker was 20. That’s rather post-pubescent.

I’ve worked with many gay people and the vast majority have had rather normal up-bringings without histories of molestation to hear them tell it. Otherwise normal and rational people in everyday dealings.

The most telling discussion I ever had with any of them was one where I was told to think about the feelings I had for girls in high school and he said that he had those same feeling for other boys instead. He couldn’t explain it other than that’s what his brain and body told him to do. I had a hard time countering that argument.

Not all molesters are homosexuals and not all homosexuals are sexual predators. How many hetero child molesters (hello, fundamental LDS’ers) are lurking out there in our midst victimizing the young?

Yes, I understand that. My question was about the poster’s assumption that the boys who were molested were “effeminate” or “already leaning that way” before they were victimized by Mr. Sandusky.

Without evidence presented, this seems to me to be a “just-so story” invented to support the concept that there is a population of people “pre-set,” as it were, to become practicing homosexuals.
