Today is November 17, the two month anniversary since Occupy Wall Street began. Protestors have declared today to be an International Day of Action, calling for people to "occupy their block," to "shut down Wall Street" starting at 7:00 AM, and to "occupy the subway" starting at 3:00 PM. We have been hearing that protestors, and the NYPD, will be amassing all over the city today, and will be live blogging dispatches from our own Village Voice staff writers Rosie Gray (@_rosiegray) and Nick Pinto (@macfathom), as well as photographer C.S. Muncy (@CSMuncyPhoto), who are on the scene through out lower Manhattan.
5:15 AM: From the anchor desk here in downtown Brooklyn, we hear a helicopter that sounds like it is heading towards Manhattan. Nick sends two pictures: this one appears to be on an NYPD roll call, just north of the Wall Street bull:

Classic: A protester telling a cop they have a constitutional right to march down Wall Street and the cop responds, “You don’t have a constitutional right to infringe on other people’s rights”
And that article is really....hmmmmm....Size is smaller, PA kicking in money for infrastructure, role of the politicians....That is some interesting info to chew on.
Looks like the begining of the end of the OWS movement.
Opening Bell delayed...protesters go nuts
I see the MSM is going with real tight shots in their video coverage. Gee, wonder why....
To make it look like there is more of these folks.
There is a crawl at the bottom of the global rev. feed that says they have surrounded the NYSE. Can anyone confirm or deny that? There doesn’t appear to be a camera on Wall Street, or I can’t tell which one it is. (never been there)
This kid is all excited about delaying the opening bell, not smart enough to realize opening bell is 22 minutes away...your public skrewl tax dollars at work...
And they wonder why they can’t get ahead economically?
Middle America backlash coming...democrats and libs going.
Crowd’s pretty shrimpy. Note to lefties: You wanted sheeple, you got sheeple. You’ll have to keep paying them to protest.
Whoever rings the bell should give these losers the finger.
"Behind the Violence, Says Jane Alpert, Was Sex"
--November 09, 1981--
"The leaders of the Weather Underground, she believes, followed a similar pattern of constantly shifting sexual alliances..."
"...the Weathermen, when not engaged in group sex, committed such revolutionary acts as parading with a Viet Cong flag through a local park on Independence Day and spray-painting the walls of a high school with the slogans, "Off the Pigs," "Viet Cong Will Win," and "F#$k U.S. Imperialism."..."
...ya pink commie jackweasils.
The Other 99 is reporting that a Philadelphia police captain arrested by NYPD... unconfirmed at this time.
The people at your live link are funny. Just screaming at the cops and the cops just stand there and nod and stand, look at each other, nod and stand.
what link are you watching?
“I couldnt get past the beginning. An anniversary occurs once a year.”
Yes, but but.. if we make them wait a whole year, that would hurt their “self esteem” and that’s not nice. /s
yeah...I give the cops a lot of credit for their restraint
I was watching cbs helicopter, but looks like they’re not on anymore.
