Good Lord. Can you be ANY more biased?

Working for Freddie Mac is a SCANDAL now?

Apparantly only if you are a Republican.

Even if he did lobby for Freddie (which he adamently says he did not, and even the Freddie sources say he didn’t) , it’s not like it’s illegal. We might not like it but he didn’t break any laws... if he did lobby.

This is just typical media. No crime is committed, but when a Republican does something, it’s this huge scandal. However, a Democrat could commit genocide and there would be no mention of it.

the scandal embroiling his ascendant campaign

They want Romney real bad, don't they?

Imagine if Newt had ties to Bill Ayers or Tony Rezko!

Seems like any anti Newt post gets immediate and featured coverage on this forum lately. Is this my imagination or what?

Newt will go after the media and the left with his words and his writings. He sees things clearly now, and each time he writes or speaks we learn something. Can you say that about any other candidate on either side?

It took Gingrich’s company 9 years to net that 1.2 million, which makes it about $200,000 per year, which is not at all unreasonable for consulting fees.

I thought the immediate description of it as a “scandal” was rather amusing.

Gingrich did release all the information a couple of days later, btw.

This is obviously going to be the line of attack they’re going to take. It was very effective in getting him out as Speaker back in 1997, when they attacked him for financial improprieties regarding a college course he taught; they filed 84 ethics charges against him, 83 of which were dropped, and the one that they pursued (an IRS violation) was later found to be without merit - after he had already been removed as Speaker.

It was an act of revenge on the part of the Dems for Gingrich’s success, coupled with abandonment by the RINO wing of the GOP. I think the GOP was embarrassed by his success in getting the Contract with America passed. He was regarded as a “polarizing” (horrors!) figure by the RINOs.

In recent days, it has been revealed that Gingrich earned $1.6 million for work he did for Freddie Mac, the agency many blame for the housing bubble that preceded the financial crisis.
I KNEW it! Gingrich was responsible for the recession all the time.
To think that poor Obammy is taking the hit - why, I might have to vote for him just to get even with that EVIL Newt.
ABC "News" indeed.

AND IT WAS AS A PRIVATE CITIZEN - NOT A CONGRESSMAN

First, we do not know if he broke any laws at this point.

Second, he and or his firm was paid by Freddie Mac to do something. We can agree on that, can’t we?

Third, a leftist politicized Freddi Mac (along with Fannie May) were directly complicit in the mortage scam.

Fourth, Freddie Mac continues the bad behavior.

Fifth, Newt’s refusal to answer questions about his specific Freddie Mac involvement means there is something he hopes to hide. If all was sunshine and above board why the obfuscation? This is very similar to his “inexplicable” explanation for sharing a love seat with Pelosi. This is what the arrogant political elite do when the little people ask too many questions.

Sixth, I just love the argument that what Newt may have done is not illegal. Well, abortion is legal in this country, but there are many of us who are morally opposed to it. Because something is legal does not mean it is morally ok. Ya’ll do remember the morality concept, don’t you? It’s part of what this country special.

Newt may not be a Marxist. But he is as a big government, elitist, professional politician. He is part of the reason we have a Marxist regime in Washington.

I will not vote for the man under any circumstances. Isn’t it time we try some new faces? Newt is status quo. Maintaining the satus quo is killing America.

You think Newt is bad, take a penetrating look at the corrupt Governor of Texas, Rick Perry. He’s as much a RINO as Mitt Romney!

Newt should go on attack. The best defense is a strong, killer offense.

He should name names and amounts taken. He should expose the involvement of Chris Dodd and the Queeah from Massachusetts in all the gory detail. He should take both down forever.

Jamie Gorelick for one, should also be destroyed. They have opened the door and Newt should proceed to kill them all.

Why is this breaking news?

Is there any law or even a reason that our candidates have to answer any questions from the rabid left wing media who just want to harass them and make a scandal out of nothing.

They did the same to Cain and he had to request Secret Service protection.

Isn’t it AMAZING how Hussein is never given a headline where he is said to allude the question?
