Rep. Dale Kildee to refute child sex abuse/incest claims
Washington Times ^ | 11/20/2011 | Kerry Pickett

Rep. Dale Kildee, Michigan Democrat, will be responding to accusations on Monday that he sexually abused his second cousin decades ago. I spoke to Kildee on his way to the airport on Sunday and he denied the charges. The Washington Times affiliated radio program America's Morning News also discussed the charges with the 17 term Congressman who is retiring this year and who previously headed up the now defunct House Page program.

Checked wikipedia to see how old this POS pedophile was at the time of the molestation of his 12-year-old relative. Three decades ago he would have been 52.

"He spent almost every weekend at our house-it turns out in my son's bed, which was stationed in the basement away from adult supervision."

Why a 52-year-old man would be spending every weekend at his Aunt and Uncle's house, sleeping in their son's bed in a basement, without attracting notice or suspicion is weird to me. The congressman is the slimiest form of life, and the parents appear to have been negligent.

Looks like Penn State can fill that open President position now. This creep will fit right in there.

This guy personifies what’s wrong with the Congress (and the voters in Michigan for that matter). He’s been in congress since 1976! He taught high school for ten years then spent one term in the Michigan House. Then it was “off to Congress!”
For pete’s sake, he’s 82 years old, and quite likely would go on his merry way until they carried him out, were it not for these allegations. When someone is in a elective office this long it’s just asking for corruption! Everyone says Congress is useless with a 9% approval rating, and yet the Kildees continue to be re-elected. Like Pogo said “ we have met the enemy and he is us.”

Barney tried to have the name changed to ‘Fannie Mark’ but the pedophiles wouldn’t hear of it.

Actually, I think his preferences would be The Fanny and Mac.

>>>Sidenote ... I am thinking it may be possible that we will be seeing many more men coming out to disclose they were abused by an adult when they were kids. I think the Penn State issue has opened some wounds and people have found courage to speak up as adults.<<<

I’m also thinking, sadly, that you’ll see many more attention addicts speaking up against powerful and not-so-powerful public figures to cash in on the action.

A lot of questions circulate in my mind reading the minimal amount of material here. The incidents took place 50 years ago - when the alleged victim was 12 and the alleged perp was 31. The victim is now in a mental hospital. What came first - the mental illness or the abuse? Why wait 50 years? Are there others? Yes, most of the time there is a pattern of behavior, but sometimes there is not, too. Statistics aren’t individuals. It is just as easy for me to imagine a guy walking around burdened with guilt and shame as it is for me to imagine a guy walking around looking for the next kid to molest. The timing seems odd, especially in light of the Penn State incident. I see online the congressman is retiring, too.

Rep. Kildee might be guilty as hell, but that’s for a jury to decide. My fear is that we’ll all be 80 years old somewhere and something shameful that we had done many decades earlier - and that includes just about everyone - will suddenly be broadcast online as happening news. There are things I did in my youth for which I have enormous shame and regret, and those self-recriminations changed my character. I’m not the same guy I was when I was 20 years old; in fact, I’m unrecognizable compared to him.

Maybe it’s time to rehabilitate forgiveness and mercy. Just a thought.

I don't mean to sound like a pain, but I'm betting that artificial insemination and anonymous sperm donors (sperm banks, that is, not "I slept with eight men last week and don't know which one got me pregnant") are going to make keeping track of these things a LOT harder.

See this for example.

Cheers!

Reminds of the old joke about the Sunday School teacher asking the class, to sum up the lesson, "OK, can anyone tell me what we have to do to get God's forgiveness? Anyone?"

One little boy in the back raises his hand timidly.

"Yes?"

"Sin?" the little boy replied.

I think *real* repentance has to come first.

Cheers!

““Cousin.” The word is gender neutral. My first thought was to wonder: boy or girl. I suspected it was a boy.”

Why? Gays are only 2 or 3 percent of the populace. Why would you immediately assume it was a gay attack?

LOL.

It's Michigan. What do you expect from people who voluntarily voted for this blithering idiot Commie Pinko not just once, but twice?

Can you think of any politician from MI in the last two generations who has been a patriotic conservative? I know there are a few House members who might fill the bill. But MI voters nearly always make bad choices. I think they are hoping their latest officeholder will set up a federal program just for them.

If it was your child that was raped would you be pleading for the perp to walk?

Dale Kildee always reminded me of an evil, mirror-universe twin of Bob Dole.

>>>If it was your child that was raped would you be pleading for the perp to walk?<<<

Not my point. Of course, having my child raped would make me so enraged they’d have to hold me back from killing the SOB.

But let’s use your example to prove my point. Let’s say my little boy was raped by a neighbor, and in a fit of rage, I picked up a large stick and crushed his skull. I can imagine what that would do to me. I’m not a killer, but I have killed. I’m rarely violent, but I was at that moment. You could easily bring out statistics showing that murderers almost always have a long history of violence, starting with animals and childhood friends, and advancing from that point, which wouldn’t be the case for me. In any case, not only would I probably have an emotional collapse from the rape of my son, but my remorse from having committed murder would drive me to a temporary insanity.

Now let’s advance the story four decades. I served time. I have spent my life attempting to make up for a single act of blind rage. I have asked the Lord for forgiveness, and repaid my country and society over and over. I’ve moved, and changed as a man, and always carried the shame of the moment.

Now it reappears in the media - let’s say the son of the man I killed comes back and blames me for all his problems. With modern media, it is possible to find just about anyone, and hang that person up to dry in public. Yeah, the son of the man I killed says, it’s payback time.

OK, that’s a big example. But what about lesser evils - the things that usually fall into the category of criminal behavior that is less serious - drunkedness, drug use, slapping your girlfriend, sex with a girl who tells you later she’s 16 years old, an affair with a married man, an abortion, an indescreet remark immediately regretted. You did it, you regret it, you change your life, and after the decades pass by, now the victim comes forth. The internet allows us to bring that to light now. In the past, we had the comfort of distance and time to grow and rebuild ourselves. What kind of world will it be when any mistake at any time becomes the hammer to wreck a life decades after the fact? All I know is that very few people manage to get through life without making grievous errors of judgment, not the least of whom is myself. So my default right now is mercy while I wait to see what the facts bring forth.
